Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

As for a hundred and eighty thousand years later...

If I really died a hundred and eighty thousand years ago, why care if there’s a catastrophic flood that far in the future?

Lu Li smiled, ”I can take risks now.”

He then conjured several infinite gauntlets, the scroll of the rivers and mountains, and other divine artifacts from ”Investiture of the Gods” and ”Journey to the West.”

Immediately after, he left a ”farewell letter.”

Should his risk-taking tonight fail and claim his life, this ”farewell letter” would inform his family and friends of his situation and how to continue living.

Lu Li was meticulous in his actions, naturally arranging everything properly.

Glancing at the pile of divine artifacts, he slowly closed his eyes.

...

Energizing, piercing the ”dimension barrier.”

Energy wrapped around his consciousness, continuously rising.

Soon, Lu Li’s consciousness, accompanied by energy, arrived in the fifth dimension.

As before, before he took any action, the ”monitoring force” did not react.

Lu Li made a slight judgment, ”From the current situation, if I’m just observing this dimension, does it mean I won’t attract the attention of the ’monitoring force’?”

He didn’t rashly establish an ”Energy Transmission Channel,” instead opting to wait quietly, wanting to see if his ”consciousness” would attract the ”monitoring force” by staying too long in the fifth dimension.

This was crucial.

If his ”consciousness” prolonged its stay, attracting the ”monitoring force,” it would mean that absorbing energy was secondary, and the main point was not to linger here.

Thus, as long as he calculated the time correctly, he could freely absorb energy without restraint.

Time ticked by.

Lu Li waited longer than the last time the ”monitoring force” came to track, and there was no disturbance.

”It seems that my ’consciousness’ can stay here for an extended period without attracting the ’monitoring force’s attention, as long as no energy absorption is attempted.”

He believed this to be true, ”Okay, I can proceed to the next experiment.”

Lu Li immediately established an ”Energy Transmission Channel,” then extracted energy from the fifth dimension.

Unlike the previous aggressive energy absorption, this time he controlled the amount of energy he absorbed.

Last time, within three minutes, Lu Li absorbed approximately seventy-one billion star power units of energy.

That is, per second, he absorbed just under forty million star power units.

This time Lu Li was not as aggressive, instead absorbing roughly twenty million star power units per second.

He wanted to determine whether it was him beginning to absorb energy to a certain time that drew the ”monitoring force’s attention” or accumulating a certain ”quantity” before they would track him.

If it was based on time, as his power grew stronger, the amount of energy absorbed within this specific timeframe would inevitably increase.

However, if the ”monitoring force” tracked him upon reaching a certain quantity, it would mean the amount of energy he can absorb from the fifth dimension is limited, not worth too much time.

Time ticked by.

One minute...

Two minutes...

Two minutes and thirty-six seconds...

Temporarily the ”monitoring force” showed no signs of coming to track.

Despite this, Lu Li had become vigilant as if facing a formidable enemy, ready to sever the channel should the ”monitoring force” track him.

Two minutes and forty-eight seconds...

Two minutes and fifty-seven seconds...

Two minutes and fifty-nine seconds...

Suddenly!

Lu Li sensed a mighty force enveloping him from afar.

The feeling was very familiar.

Indeed, it was the ”monitoring force”!

Lu Li immediately severed the ”Energy Transmission Channel” without hesitation.

...

In real space.

Lu Li slowly opened his eyes, ”After severing the ’Energy Transmission Channel,’ just like before, the ’monitoring force’ did not pursue.”

This left him quite satisfied, ”It seems my previous judgment was correct, the ’monitoring force’ won’t pursue incessantly; they only notice when I absorb energy for a certain time.”

This timeframe, based on current tests, is about three minutes Earth time.

Of course, this is only based on two tests and cannot be fully confirmed yet.

To confirm it, more testing is needed.

Lu Li didn’t hesitate, starting a second round of testing.

Again, he energized, piercing the ”dimension barrier,” then using energy to carry his consciousness into the fifth dimension, prepared to absorb energy for testing once more.

Unexpectedly, as soon as his energy and consciousness reached the fifth dimension, he immediately noticed the ”monitoring force” rushing towards him!

”Not good!”

Lu Li quickly severed the connection between himself and the energy.

Though the ”monitoring force” didn’t follow, Lu Li revealed a perplexed expression, ”Why is the ’monitoring force’ still over there?”

He thought there might be two possibilities.

First, after continuously absorbing energy twice from the fifth dimension, the ”monitoring force” has blacklisted him, keeping constant watch.

Second, the ”monitoring force” remains where anomalies occur for a period of time.

If it’s the first situation, he might as well forget about absorbing energy from the fifth dimension in the future.

If it’s the second situation, then it becomes easier.

He just needs to determine how long the ”monitoring force” would stay and then avoid them, before endlessly absorbing energy.

Lu Li didn’t rush to act a third time, instead waiting quietly for about two Earth hours.

At this moment, it was already slightly past two in the morning.

Lu Li energized again, piercing the ”dimension barrier,” arriving in the fifth dimension.

He was ready to sever the energy connection at any moment.
