Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 142: Chapter 132: Power Comparable to a Nuclear Bomb?

Perhaps it’s because they know Lu Li possesses mysterious superpowers.

After getting into the car, Mo Juedu’s attitude suddenly became respectful.

He looked at Lu Li with a slightly reverent gaze and gingerly asked, ”Mr. Lu, where would you like to go now? I’ll drive you there.”

Sun Demin relayed Mo Juedu’s intention while searching for the location on his phone.

Lu Li sat in the back seat like a boss and calmly said, ”Do you know where the Jiaojia Mountain Range is?”

Mo Juedu quickly replied, ”I know, it’s not far from here. I’ll take you there right away.”

With that, he started the car and headed westward.

Lu Li closed his eyes in the back, trying to fully unleash his spiritual power, tuning it to maximum capacity, constantly probing the surroundings to see if he could discover traces of Brother Gu, Chen Man Ni, and others.

At first, he didn’t notice anything.

The car drove for about ten minutes.

Suddenly, Lu Li opened his eyes and said, ”Alright, stop the car here. You guys wait here for me.”

Mo Juedu hurriedly stopped the car.

Sun Demin asked nervously, ”Mr. Lu, do you need us to do anything?”

Lu Li was getting out of the car as he said, ”No need, just wait here.”

With that, he suddenly leaped out, his whole body disappearing rapidly into the night like a cannonball.

Using his spiritual power earlier, he’d already located where Brother Gu and Chen Man Ni, among others, were being held—just a few hundred meters away in a small village.

In that small village, there were about thirty or forty people guarding.

Moreover, these kidnappers seemed to be prepared for a siege, having hidden over a hundred barrels of explosives in the village.

Therefore, Lu Li absolutely couldn’t take Mo Juedu and Sun Demin with him.

Otherwise, any commotion they caused could alert the kidnappers, prompting them to act recklessly and endanger everyone.

Going alone was different.

He could use his spiritual power from a distance, silently eliminating the kidnappers without a trace.

Then he could rescue Brother Gu, Chen Man Ni, and the others, about four or five of them.

Finally, he could obliterate any evidence.

...

In Su City, domestically.

The discussion about how to deal with Lu Li had concluded.

Indeed, Ma Yangming ultimately pushed forward his decision, opting to maintain the highest level of ”caution” with Lu Li.

As for Zhang Guocheng’s claims that Lu Li was extremely dangerous and shouldn’t be provoked, Ma Yangming paid them no heed.

In his view, no matter how fierce Lu Li might be, could he really stand against modern weaponry?

As long as Lu Li was obedient, it was fine.

If not, well, Ma Yangming was confident he could bring Lu Li to heel!

Yes, that’s how confident he was.

Because the conclusion was reached quite late,

Ma Yangming and the other six stayed overnight in Su City, planning to fly back the next day.

At the moment, everyone was gathered in the hotel room, discussing other matters.

Yes, their responsibilities covered a broad area.

It was impossible to focus solely on the topic of Lu Li forever.

Besides, Ma Yangming and the other six leaders of the East China Region didn’t see Lu Li as a major threat, so there was no need for continued discussion.

A group of people sat around a small round table on the couch.

Ma Yangming was discussing other tasks, ”I just got word that in Hang City, someone can communicate with spirits. Although such events have happened many times, we still need to send someone to understand the situation. It’s in your jurisdiction, Old Tan, so you send someone...”

He hadn’t finished speaking.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang urgently, ”ding dong ding dong.”

Ma Yangming frowned, glancing displeasedly at Zhang Guocheng, ”Old Zhang, get the door.”

Zhang Guocheng responded with an ”Oh” and got up to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, everyone saw Xiaolin appear with a look of disbelief on his face.

Ma Yangming was a bit annoyed at Xiaolin for interrupting their discussion, and he questioned, ”Xiaolin, why are you...”

Again, he was interrupted before he could finish his sentence, as Xiaolin anxiously cut in, ”Something serious has happened! Mr. Lu has done something shocking and terrifying in Myanmar!”

What?

Mr. Lu did something shocking and terrifying in Myanmar?

Ma Yangming, Old Tan, and the others exchanged glances.

They knew, of course, that the ”Mr. Lu” Xiaolin mentioned referred to Lu Li.

After all, that morning, they had just received word that Lu Li had flown to Myanmar.

But they were curious about what exactly Lu Li had done in Myanmar to make the usually composed Xiaolin so unsettled.

Zhang Guocheng voiced the question for them, ”What’s going on? What did Lu Li do in Myanmar?”

Xiaolin hastily walked in, showing the USB drive in his hand, ”I can’t explain it clearly. You should watch the video directly. This video was captured by a military satellite, with a resolution of about 0.1 meter. Although it’s somewhat blurry, it should give you a general idea of what happened.”

The resolution of civilian satellites, at the smallest, is around 0.5 meters, which isn’t sufficient to capture people on the ground.

However, certain military satellites in low Earth orbit generally have a resolution of around 0.2 meters, or even 0.1 meter, which is enough to capture people on the ground.

Currently, the most advanced are the Ugly Country’s Keyhole spy satellites, rumored to have a resolution accurate to 10 centimeters, capable of counting heads from space.

These details were well known to Ma Yangming, Zhang Guocheng, Old Tan, and the others.

What intrigued them even more was what exactly Lu Li did in Myanmar that warranted satellite surveillance and immediate communication to Xiaolin.

Curious, everyone gathered around the computer.

Xiaolin inserted the USB drive into the computer, quickly picked up the mouse, and opened the encrypted file to play a brief video that lasted less than fifteen seconds.

In the video, everyone could vaguely see a young man, resembling Lu Li, leading four or five people into a car.

There was nothing special here.

The extraordinary thing was that after the car drove a certain distance, Lu Li, sitting in the back seat, suddenly stuck his head out and pointed in a specific direction.

Immediately, the scene switched.

The crowd saw a small village engulfed in an exceedingly intense fire.

The blaze shot up into the sky instantly, with thick black smoke rising alongside.

The terrifying power of the explosion distorted the video footage slightly!

The vast small village was suddenly submerged in a sea of fire!

Next, a massive shockwave spread in all directions.

It shook the towering ancient trees nearby, snapping them in half!

The shockwave swept out over a significant distance, estimated to be one or two kilometers away.

Ma Yangming’s pupils contracted violently!

Zhang Guocheng couldn’t help but take a deep breath!

Old Tan and the remaining five or six people, all of them widened their eyes in shock!

A casual point of a finger, and a small village was obliterated?

They naturally knew the approximate scale of images captured by military satellites.

Based on this scale, the small village blown up by Lu Li with a simple point was approximately five hundred meters in length and three to four hundred meters wide.

This meant the village area roughly reached two hundred thousand square meters, or 0.2 square kilometers.

It doesn’t sound vast, but it’s incredibly terrifying.

You should know that the first radius of the Dongfeng-5 nuclear missile’s explosion is only about 10.6 square kilometers.

And now the power of Lu Li’s casual point reached 1/53 of that Dongfeng-5 nuclear missile?

The Dongfeng-5 nuclear missile is equivalent to 300 to 500 kilotons of TNT!

According to this data analysis, the power of Lu Li’s casual point was equivalent to around 10 kilotons of TNT?

It could almost rival the power of the ”Little Boy” bomb!

This data is certainly horrifying.

Ma Yangming, Zhang Guocheng, and Old Tan all had dense layers of sweat appearing on their foreheads.

They really couldn’t believe that Lu Li could casually unleash such terrifying power!

The most crucial thing was that this was just Lu Li pointing his finger!

No one knew how much more terrifying his power could be if he went all out!

Hmm, they had no idea that this power was not actually produced by Lu Li.

Nor did they know that the actual power of the explosion was far less than the ”Little Boy”.

The reason the small village suddenly exploded was entirely due to Lu Li using his Spiritual Power to remotely ignite barrels of explosives placed around the village.

There were about a hundred barrels, each roughly a hundred kilograms.

The real explosive power might be equivalent to one or two tons of TNT.

After all, one ton of black powder releases energy equivalent to about 0.19 tons of TNT.

Ten thousand kilograms of black powder converts to ten tons.

Based on this power estimation, it equals one or two tons of TNT.

The reason the scene looked as spectacular as the ”Little Boy” was entirely due to the positioning of these explosive barrels being too dispersed and even.

This made the explosion appear to cover an incredibly wide area.

Additionally, since everyone was watching footage taken by military satellites, it seemed rather blurry.

This caused Ma Yangming, Zhang Guocheng, and Old Tan to fall for the misconception, believing that the power unleashed by Lu Li’s casual point was comparable to the ”Little Boy”.

And this scared Ma Yangming, Zhang Guocheng, and Old Tan considerably.

With a face full of shock, Ma Yangming stammered as he asked Xiaolin, ”Are...are you sure that it was Mr. Lu’s casual point that, um...um, set off the small village?”

With candor, Xiaolin replied, ”Not sure.”

Ma Yangming and Old Tan both breathed a sigh of relief.

And then Xiaolin followed up with, ”But the time recorded by the satellite shows that 0.1 seconds after Mr. Lu pointed, the small village was set off.”

Upon hearing this, Ma Yangming, Old Tan, and the others fell silent once more.

Although Xiaolin said he wasn’t sure if Lu Li’s pointing caused the village explosion, the fact that it exploded 0.1 seconds after Lu Li pointed was indeed quite telling.

Zhang Guocheng smiled wryly and said, ”While Xiaolin isn’t sure, I’m pretty certain over here.”

Curious, Ma Yangming asked, ”Old Zhang, why are you so sure?”

With resignation, Zhang Guocheng explained, ”Didn’t I tell you this morning that when Mr. Lu pointed, he created a vast sea of fire in the sky, wider than what we just saw today? I estimated it to be one or two kilometers in radius, and I believe the military satellite must have captured that moment, though we didn’t check the video. If you have doubts, you could actually review it.”

Somewhat incredulous, Ma Yangming was quick to make a call to retrieve the video.

About half an hour later, the relevant department sent over the video.

And then, everyone sat together to watch.

They found that the fiery explosion created by Lu Li pointing at the sky earlier didn’t extend as far as the two kilometers as Zhang Guocheng had claimed, but it still reached about 1.23 kilometers.

Though the fireflash in the video seemed fleeting, it didn’t appear to create massive power.

However, in conjunction with the scene just witnessed, everyone had reason to believe that if Lu Li wished, he could have created something far more terrifying than just setting off the small village!

Startling!

Ma Yangming and Old Tan were terrified!

Everyone exchanged incredulous glances after a long period of silence.

Then, with decisive urgency, Ma Yangming declared, ”We need to reassess how to handle Lu Li.”
