Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 105: Chapter 97: Comprehending the Origin (6/10)

Nighttime, back at Diamond Home.

Lu Li was on the phone as he entered inside.

The living room was dark, no one in sight, Liu Kexin must have gone upstairs.

He turned on the light and said with his Bluetooth headset, ”Mom, did you call me?”

His mom’s voice came from the other end, ”Yes, there’s a mail for you. It looks like your ID and passport. When will you come back to get them?”

The ID and passport have arrived?

We’ll need to find some time to handle the visa.

Lu Li still had plans to take Atlantic City by storm, ”I’ll come by tomorrow. Did you receive the clothes I sent for you and Dad?”

His mom asked with concern, ”We did. The clothes are quite nice, must have been expensive, right?”

Lu Li knew his parents were frugal, so he didn’t dare to mention the real price of Burberry and Ralph Lauren, ”Not too expensive, together they were only a thousand.”

”A thousand combined isn’t expensive?” His mom still felt the pinch, ”Don’t buy clothes for me and your dad in the future. We can buy for ourselves.”

”What a thousand bucks? That kid’s tricking us!” His dad’s voice suddenly chimed in, ”I wore it to the factory today, the supervisor was enviously saying I dressed better than him, claiming each piece costs thousands!”

”Oh dear!” His mom suddenly exclaimed, ”You made some money and now you’ve no place to spend it, right? A few thousand for one piece...”

Mom started to nag endlessly.

Lu Li pretended there was bad signal, ”Hello, hello, why is there no signal?”

He quickly used his Spiritual Power to hang up the phone hidden in his pocket.

For some reason, after drinking that night, his eyes felt a bit itchy.

Additionally, Lu Li once again felt the long-missed ”mental strain.”

Perhaps it was related to Little Golden Man constantly mobilizing energy light.

Earlier while drinking with Peng Erping, he was pondering the evolution of the microscopic eye.

Thus, it’s normal for Little Golden Man to be in ”working state.”

Lu Li had already realized last time he had an energy surplus that Little Golden Man could complete the evolution work while he was awake.

Therefore, he wasn’t surprised.

”Why is it so mentally straining again?”

He still couldn’t quite figure it out.

This feeling of mental strain wasn’t because of spiritual fatigue.

The first time he encountered this, he had looked through various biological books but couldn’t find the answer.

Forget it, no point in straining his brain over things he didn’t understand for now.

Lu Li was relatively lazy, unless it was a matter of life and death, he would generally not bother to think hard.

If I’m already so strong I have to rack my brain, then why did I get stronger?

Lu Li believed in overcoming with hard power; as long as he could absolutely overcome something, he wouldn’t bother to use his brain.

...

Going upstairs.

Reaching the second floor.

Lu Li saw the light was on in the master bedroom on the east side, assuming Liu Kexin wasn’t asleep.

He realized that he promised yesterday to pick her up after work but ended up standing her up, feeling quite apologetic. Should he go and make amends?

Thinking this, Lu Li couldn’t help but walk to the master bedroom door and knock.

Knock, knock-knock.

Liu Kexin’s voice came from inside, ”Come in.”

Lu Li pushed the door open and went in, seeing Liu Kexin half-lying reading documents.

Speaking of which, this was his first time entering Liu Kexin’s bedroom.

Lu Li took a quick look around.

Contrary to his imagination, it wasn’t very luxurious.

Perhaps Liu Kexin’s character was rather efficient and decisive, thus the room was arranged very simply.

A wardrobe, a computer desk.

A bed, two bedside tables.

There were also some green plants on the window sill.

Nothing else.

Yes, there wasn’t even a TV.

Lu Li asked, ”Busy?”

Liu Kexin didn’t lift her head, ”Not too bad. Do you need something?”

Lu Li casually closed the door, ”I...”

Before he could finish, Liu Kexin lifted her head and said sternly, ”What are you doing? Closing the door, what do you intend to do?”

Lu Li looked perplexed, ”Isn’t it an instinctive action? What could I do? Am I going to eat you? Moreover, if I really wanted to do something to you, does it matter whether the door is closed or not? It’s just the two of us here in this room.”

Liu Kexin thought it made sense and returned to her usual stern nature, ”Hmm, have a seat.”

Lu Li sat on the chair by the bed, glancing up and down at Liu Kexin who was engrossed in her documents.

Tonight she wore a silky pink nightgown.

Her hair seemed freshly washed and blow-dried, a bob cut looking somewhat fluffy.

Liu Kexin seemed unaware of his gaze, still busy with her work, ”Anything?”

Leaning back on the chair, Lu Li said, ”I came to apologize. I said I’d pick you up after work yesterday but ended up too unwell and fell asleep, really sorry about that.”

Liu Kexin said calmly, ”It’s okay, you said you were unwell, you should rest well. By the way, are you feeling better now?”

Lu Li said, ”Much better.”

Liu Kexin just acknowledged with a hum and said nothing more.

Lu Li couldn’t think of any topic to continue the conversation, so he decided to get up and excuse himself.

Just as he stood up, his vision suddenly blurred, greatly interfering with his sight.

It felt as if everything in front of him decomposed into particles, all shimmering slightly.

A tiny bit of shimmer certainly wouldn’t affect his sight.

But now, before Lu Li’s eyes were countless leaping microcosmic particles.

This sudden anomaly gave him the sensation of being plunged into darkness, only for his eyes to be hit by a stark light.

Because of this, he lost his footing and stumbled forward, falling onto the bed.

Liu Kexin’s voice immediately rang out, ”Lu Li, what’s wrong?”

Lu Li himself didn’t understand the situation, hurriedly waved his hand, ”Nothing, just a bit dizzy, let me lie here for a moment.”

Liu Kexin’s voice sounded again, ”Are you uncomfortable again? Should I take you to the hospital?”

Lu Li quickly said, ”No need, really no need, lying here for a moment is enough.”

Liu Kexin was extremely worried, ”Are you sure lying there a while is okay? If you really don’t want to go to the hospital, I can also call a doctor for a home visit.”

Lu Li said, ”Definitely, don’t worry.”

Liu Kexin had no choice but to say, ”Hmm.”

Although the other party didn’t make any more sound, Lu Li felt like there was a blanket covering his back.

He was still digesting the situation of the mutation.

Lu Li knew that the current mutation was definitely related to his earlier attempt at developing the micro-eye while eating.

It was even possible that the micro-eye had already been developed.

What puzzled him was that in the past, developing skills would create ”energy fields” within his body, which he could feel.

Why didn’t developing the micro-eye form an ”energy field”?

Could it be that after the second deep evolution, developing supernatural abilities no longer creates ”fields” within the body but directly integrates into the body?

Lu Li couldn’t quite figure it out for the moment, and he didn’t have time to think deeply.

He continuously attempted to control the mutation in front of him, trying to understand its function.

Although he knew he could stop the ”abnormal movements” with a thought, he felt that the micro-eye had been developed and naturally wanted to seize the chance to figure out how to use this skill.

Initially, Lu Li really didn’t understand how to use the micro-eye.

Later, an idea struck him that perhaps the micro-light was too bright.

If he could reduce the ”brightness,” could he see more clearly?

With this thought in mind, Lu Li attempted to suggest to himself that he didn’t want to see so clearly.

As soon as he made the suggestion, the brightness gradually diminished.

It works!

It really is possible to reduce the brightness!

Lu Li couldn’t help but feel overjoyed and began searching for an acceptable level of brightness.

He tried lowering the brightness little by little.

Gradually, he was finally able to see the surrounding environment clearly while also seeing those micro-lights.

Lu Li was experiencing a miracle.

He felt like his ”consciousness” seemed to have transcended his physical body, inexplicably emerging in the void, yet he could still control his body.

This feeling was extraordinarily magical.

He could clearly ”see” everything in the adjacent bedroom.

The wardrobe, computer desk, curtains, and even some unknown bugs crawling under the bed were clearly visible.

Although Lu Li didn’t activate any clairvoyance, his gaze seemed to penetrate through the walls.

It wasn’t just as simple as clairvoyance.

He also ”saw” the flow of all the air currents within his field of vision.

And, many tiny ”microorganisms” that might require a microscope to observe.

Even microorganisms I can see?

Lu Li was slightly startled in his heart.

He vaguely understood that the swathes of micro-lights he saw might be some kind of substance.

If he guessed correctly, those micro-lights might be ”particles,” the fundamental particles that make up the world.

It’s just that his ”vision” seemed a bit unaccustomed.

Or perhaps due to some other reason.

Unable to clearly see the specific form of particles under the glittering micro-lights.

He tried to enhance the degree of minuteness.

To see what the ultimate limit is.

His gaze became increasingly detailed.

He gradually saw the molecular forms that compose all matter.

Yes, the limit is probably here.

He could only vaguely see the molecular forms.

And couldn’t see very clearly.

This discovery thrilled Lu Li.

He carefully stared at those molecules, and was surprised to see the molecules in the air linked into ”lines,” interwoven together like small spider webs forming an immensely vast net, extending to the sky, and even to the depths of the endless cosmic space.

As if, he had unraveled the essence of matter.

Incredibly majestic and grand.

Lu Li couldn’t help but exclaim.

Is the microscopic world so wonderful?

At the same time, countless questions arose in his heart.

The micro-lights he just saw.

Could those be atomic forms smaller than molecules?

Or perhaps, quarks even smaller than atoms?

He couldn’t clearly see particles smaller than molecules for the time being.

Therefore, he definitely couldn’t find an answer.

His eyes felt a bit sore from viewing molecular forms.

Lu Li slightly lowered the brightness again.

Mainly adjusted the brightness to the extent that various bacteria could be seen clearly.

In doing so, he could observe the microscopic world without affecting his vision.

However, when seeing things, more light spots appeared.

Lu Li tried looking toward Liu Kexin.

Wanting to see what the human structure looked like through the micro-eye.

The result was that he saw Liu Kexin’s whole body ”glowing.”

Whether it was the person or the clothes on them, it seemed like everything was ”decomposed” by his gaze.

That feeling was like using both an ultrasound and a microscope simultaneously.

Different from ordinary clairvoyance.

Clairvoyance can see every ”layer” clearly.

For instance, clothes are clothes.

You can see how many layers of weave the clothes have.

But you can’t see smaller compositions.

The micro-eye, however, ”decomposes” everything it sees into particles.

Therefore, when he looked at Liu Kexin, he certainly didn’t see anything blood-pumping.

Lu Li mused silently, ”Since I’ve developed the micro-eye, can’t I use it to clearly see the ailments within the human body?”

If he can, then verifying whether energy rays can treat ailments might just bring a million dollars to hand.
