Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 110: Chapter 102: Is Mr. Lu Truly a Miracle Doctor? (9/10)

As the three walked, they passed a crowd standing and waiting for the famous doctor.

Liu Peinan said to a short elderly man in his sixties, ”Dad, I’ll take Dr. Lu in to have a look first.”

The elderly man didn’t have time to respond.

Another elderly man, roughly sixty-four or sixty-five, said, ”Hmm, be a bit quick. Dr. Philip Hunch will come over later, and he doesn’t have much time to stay.”

Liu Peinan seemed helpless and could only reply, ”Okay, Uncle.”

Liu Peinan’s father looked at Lu Li and Peng Erping, and smoothed things over by saying, ”It’s okay, take your time. At worst, we’ll let Dr. Philip Hunch wait a bit, it’s not like we can’t afford the house call fee.”

Only then did Liu Peinan smile, ”Got it, Dad.”

Liu Peinan’s father seemed to know Peng Erping, then turned to Lu Li, smiled, and said, ”Dr. Lu, sorry to trouble you.”

Lu Li knew he was just being polite, but the other’s attitude was indeed very pleasant.

He nodded and said, ”Mr. Liu, rest assured, I’ll do my best.”

After chatting briefly, the others didn’t pay any attention and continued to look out the door.

The three continued walking inside.

Liu Peinan lowered his voice, ”My uncle doesn’t get along well with our family, Dr. Lu, don’t take it to heart.”

The other party didn’t say much, just asking to expedite the treatment. How could Lu Li mind that?

He waved his hand and said, ”It’s fine.”

They chatted as they walked into the courtyard.

Lu Li saw a young woman pushing a wheelchair in circles.

In the wheelchair sat an elderly man whose face was full of suffering, with sparse silver hair, and he was frighteningly thin, estimated to be around eighty-nine.

Liu Peinan stepped forward to greet them, ”Grandpa, Linlin.”

The old man turned his head to look, managed a faint smile, and replied hoarsely, ”Peinan, you’re here.”

The young woman blinked and said, ”Bro, where’s the miracle doctor?”

Liu Peinan pointed at Lu Li and said, ”There, he is Dr. Lu, who took time out of his busy schedule to treat Grandpa.”

The young woman reacted the same as Liu Peinan did before, stunned.

On the contrary, the old man reached out his hand as much as possible and said, ”Hello, Dr. Lu, thank you for your trouble today.”

Lu Li stepped forward and shook his hand, saying, ”No trouble at all, Elder, let me check your pulse. Stay seated.”

Although the old man was suffering from illness, he remained optimistic and chuckled, ”Alright.”

Lu Li nodded, then placed his fingers on the elderly man’s wrist.

He surely didn’t know how to check the pulse, he was just pretending.

In fact, as he pretended to check the pulse, Lu Li had already activated his microscopic vision.

Actually, Liu Peinan and Liu Peilin, the siblings, didn’t take it seriously and didn’t show any hope.

It was normal that they didn’t take it seriously.

Firstly, Lu Li was too young to look like an expert in traditional medicine.

After all, the older a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, the more ”security” they provide.

Secondly, rheumatism was considered a terminal illness and couldn’t be completely cured.

The old man was critically ill, and many famous doctors had failed to alleviate the symptoms.

So how could Liu Peinan and Liu Peilin have expectations?

However, Peng Erping, who had witnessed Lu Li snatch life from King Yama, showed interest and looked expectantly.

Lu Li ignored others’ reactions, focusing on the old man’s legs.

The situation was dire; he saw the old man’s knee joints were festering and spreading, filled with various bacteria.

The most abundant of these bacteria were golden and grape-like, the same as he’d seen on Liu Kexin’s shoulder last night.

The quantity was frightening!

Both the marrow and cartilage tissues were infected.

Lu Li frowned, checking the femur.

He saw that while the femur was also infected, it wasn’t necrotic.

Lu Li couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The old man couldn’t help but ask, ”Doctor, can the pain be alleviated?”

Lu Li looked up and smiled, ”It can be treated.”

The old man thought he meant the pain could be alleviated, not realizing it could be completely cured. Still, he was pleased, ”Good, good, thank you, doctor.”

Liu Peinan and Liu Peilin exchanged a surprised look, not expecting that Lu Li could say the pain could be alleviated after a few glances.

For a moment, the siblings were slightly more interested.

Yes, like the old man, they didn’t consider it a complete cure.

Only Peng Erping, upon hearing Lu Li’s words, felt his heart pounding.

He thought to himself, ”If Mr. Lu actually cures the old man, how great a debt will the Liu Family owe me and Mr. Lu?”

Others might not know the Liu Family’s power, but Peng Erping surely did.

In Su City, the Liu Family is top tier.

While everyone was lost in thought, Lu Li instructed the old man, ”In a moment, I’ll roll up your pant leg and massage your leg. It might feel hot, so if it’s unbearable, let me know.”

The old man sighed, ”Recently, apart from pain, I barely feel anything in this leg. If I really feel the heat, I’d be delighted.”

Lu Li knew the old man’s legs had little sensation due to inflammation pressing on the nerves, causing a partial loss of sensation.

He didn’t say more, simply rolled up the old man’s pant leg, placed a hand on a leg, pretended to massage, while releasing energy rays.

...

A moment ago.

Xiaolin and Wang Yu used the equipment to track the signal of Lu Li’s phone.

So, the two drove to follow it and quickly reached the garden villa outside.

Xiaolin used some connections to find out that Lu Li had gone to the Liu Family, and immediately frowned, reporting this matter to the higher-ups.

He knew what kind of existence the Liu Family was in Su City.

If it were ancient times, they would have been like a family of governors.

In fact, their family background is quite good, but Elder Liu’s status is different, being a war hero and having a lot of influence.

Naturally, Xiaolin dared not offend them and could only report Lu Li’s visit to the Liu Family to his superiors.

After waiting for about two or three minutes, the phone rang.

Under Wang Yu’s watchful gaze, Xiaolin answered the call and said, ”Hello, Director, what do you say?”

A middle-aged man’s voice came from the other end, ”I’ve spoken with Old Liu, he said his nephew has invited a doctor named Lu over, but Old Liu won’t interfere with our business, so feel free to proceed.”

Xiaolin breathed a sigh of relief, smiled, and said, ”As long as you say so, I promise to bring him to you intact today.”

The middle-aged man acknowledged, ”It’s time to have a talk with him. Fortunately, Old Liu is not going to obstruct us, otherwise, we really wouldn’t be able to proceed.”

...

Garden-style villa, inner courtyard.

Lu Li gathered a large amount of energy light onto the elder’s legs.

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside.

Immediately, a wave of English conversation followed.

Needless to guess, it must have been Dr. Philip Hunch, the world-class doctor invited by the Liu Family.

Moments later, footsteps were heard approaching from afar.

Lu Li, Liu Peinan, Liu Peilin, and Peng Erping all turned to look.

A tall and sturdy white man in his forties or fifties, surrounded by a dozen Liu Family members, passed through the courtyard gate.

Without a doubt, this white man should be the world-renowned doctor, Dr. Philip Hunch.

Beside Dr. Philip Hunch was a young male assistant and a Huaxia woman aged twenty-seven or twenty-eight as a translator.

”Dr. Hunch, we are truly sorry to have you travel all the way from the Ugly Country.”

”Doctor, you’ve already checked my father’s condition, can you alleviate his pain?”

Liu Peinan’s father, uncle, and others were enthusiastically engaging with him.

Dr. Philip Hunch had a very serious expression and spoke a lot of English.

The translator said, ”The doctor means that Mr. Liu’s condition is not optimistic, and he is not very confident about the treatment. He can only try to see if there’s a way to control the disease’s progression and prevent femoral necrosis.”

”Ah?”

”Isn’t Dr. Hunch the top expert in treating rheumatism globally? Even he is not confident about the treatment?”

”If he can control the disease from spreading, that’s already very good. Rheumatism can’t be cured.”

”Yes, we hope that the doctor can control grandpa’s condition.”

The dozen members of the Liu Family looked very disappointed at the translator’s words.

As they talked, the group approached the scene.

Liu Peinan and Liu Peilin went up to greet and shake hands with the doctor.

Lu Li ignored them and continued to gather energy light to eradicate the bacteria in the elder’s legs, while speeding up the self-healing process.

Perhaps because Liu Peinan’s father had previously said to let Lu Li treat casually, no one urged him, they just chatted with Dr. Hunch.

Dr. Hunch seemed a bit distracted, curiously watching Lu Li’s actions.

He might have been too curious, so he took the initiative to ask, ”What is he doing?”

Liu Peinan quickly explained in English, ”Doctor, Mr. Lu is an expert in traditional Chinese medicine, and he is currently using massage therapy from traditional Chinese medicine to relieve my grandfather’s leg pain.”

Dr. Hunch had a strong desire to learn, showing a look of amazement, ”Chinese massage can treat rheumatism? Interesting, let me take a look.”

Saying that, he stepped forward and squatted down next to Lu Li.

Dr. Hunch seemed very interested.

Liu Peinan’s uncle and the others appeared uninterested.

Some even showed impatience in their eyes, as if they thought Lu Li was wasting time.

But these people were well-mannered, apart from occasionally showing impatience in their eyes, they didn’t express it in any other way.

It’s a typical mindset; Lu Li is so young, who would really believe that he has superb medical skills?

However, at this moment, the elder suddenly twitched both legs and couldn’t help but cry out in pain, ”Ouch, Dr. Lu, it’s a bit hot!”

Everyone was originally uninterested, whispering over there.

Upon hearing the voice, they all looked over in surprise.

Dr. Hunch also showed a hint of astonishment on his face.

What did the elder just say?

He said his legs felt a bit hot?

Bear in mind that the elder had long suffered from rheumatism; the inflammation had already pressured his nerves, causing partial loss of sensation.

And now, he actually feels hot?

Doesn’t this imply that this young and handsome looking man in front of them is indeed showing effective treatment?

Everyone looked surprised; could this Mr. Lu really be a miracle doctor?
