Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 122: Chapter 113: I Am the One and Only Extraordinary

Although Lu Li didn’t know much about Daoism, he was still aware of the renowned Zhang Ziyang.

This famous Daoist was the one who said the well-known words, ”When a Golden Core is swallowed, one will realize that fate is not governed by the heavens.”

The preface Lu Li could somewhat understand; essentially, it talked about how Shakyamuni Buddha and Laozi opened the door to dual cultivation of life and nature, teaching people to comprehend the cause of good and evil, to reach the perfect fruit of refining the infinite, thereby avoiding death and moving into the realm of the uncreated, and how Zhang Ziyang entered the Dao and why he did so.

These weren’t the issues.

The issue was, what followed was entirely descriptions in the form of poetry.

Things like ”If separation and connection do not exist without Wuxu, though they contain the four images, they do not form a core,” and ”Gathering and dispersing, blending into transformation, daring to discuss the profound casually,” and so on.

Lu Li truly felt completely baffled.

Feeling helpless, Lu Li had to ask for help, ”Daoist Zhen, I can’t quite understand the content of the Alchemy Scripture, could you explain it to me?”

Zhen Hongyi quickly responded, ”Sure, let me see which Alchemy Scripture you are reading, and then I’ll explain it word by word.”

Saying this, he stepped forward.

Qin Liang and Blaze Baby watched as Lu Li studied the Alchemy Scripture, and simply sat there without saying a word.

Zhang Hongzhong, Wang Duguan, and other Daoists, however, wore expressions of anticipation.

It seemed they were hoping that once Lu Li understood the contents of the Alchemy Scripture, he could guide them on the path to longevity.

Zhen Hongyi glanced at the Alchemy Scripture and began to explain in detail, ”Master Zi Yang meant that if one does not seek the great Dao to escape the lost path, even with wisdom, one is not a great man... ’Li’ and ’Kan’ refer to the heart and kidneys in the human body, the heart being the fire house dragon palace, the heart position is the post-heaven ’Li’ position, the kidneys being the water mansion tiger den, the kidney position is the post-heaven ’Kan’ position... In ancient times, a pound was sixteen ounces, which are two eights, anciently called two eight. In the Alchemy Dao, with the cooperation of the yin and yang elites in the body, it is like the harmony of water and fire, and both must be equal, if the fire is greater...”

He had indeed followed Grandmaster Zhengyi Chen Liansheng for twenty odd years, and could explain various substitutes and terminologies fluently.

Lu Li was listening attentively and attempting internally.

According to Zhang Ziyang’s Alchemy Dao theory, it could basically be divided into: Foundation Establishment Stage, Refining Essence into Qi, Refining Qi into Spirit, and Refining Spirit to Return to Void.

The Foundation Establishment Stage probably refers to, before formally refining the Inner Core, using Inner Power to repair and enhance body functions, to ensure abundant spirit, energy, and essence.

Lu Li tried to compare his situation according to the ”Foundation Establishment Technique” and found that his sprit, energy, and essence were abundant, meaning there was no need to establish a foundation.

He continued to listen to Daoist Zhen’s explanation on the topic of Refining Essence into Qi.

Refining Essence into Qi is a higher stage than Foundation Establishment; Daoism refers to it as ”Hundred Days Pass.”

Zhang Ziyang divided the medicine, essence, qi, and spirit of refining the Inner Core into innate and acquired, using ”Three families meet, take Kan to fill Li” to summarize the skill of Refining Essence into Qi.

Specifically, it’s using the dantian as a furnace, emulating the yin and yang of heaven and earth, to integrate essence, qi, and spirit.

There are four major different techniques of ”collecting, sealing, refining, and stopping.”

Perhaps due to the unlocking of the gene lock and the second deep evolution of his body.

Lu Li tried as advised by Zhen Hongyi, and immediately succeeded easily.

He found that, according to the cultivation techniques in the ”Understanding Truth Chapter,” indeed a very slight amount of energy rays could be generated within the body.

Generating energy rays isn’t unusual.

Even when doing nothing, a normal human body that just eats and drinks will produce a slight amount of energy rays.

It’s just not as much as ”exerting energy” produces.

Of course, not to mention it’s far less than energy conversion through eating or absorption of energy from the air through pores and skin.

Lu Li analyzed it.

If the quantity of energy rays generated by normal human consumption is one.

Then the maximum number of energy rays generated through exertion is three.

This is because his body strength far exceeds that of ordinary people.

If an ordinary person exerts their energy, perhaps the number of energy rays produced is only two.

And the energy rays converted through his food consumption?

Reaches over three hundred in total!

Pores and skin absorbing free energy conversion is more terrifying, with an index exceeding a thousand.

”Energy rays can kill bacteria and enhance the body’s self-healing ability; although the quantity of energy rays produced by cultivating this technique is very small, it is a little more than normal eating and drinking, no wonder the life span of those cultivating Dao is longer than ordinary people, it turns out it’s due to the action of energy rays.”

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but sigh, ”It’s a pity that according to this cultivation method, the number of energy rays produced means that humans can never reach the extraordinary stage, because not only is the quantity of energy rays too small, but even with such a high energy conversion efficiency as mine, I still do not know how to unlock the gene lock.”

His energy conversion is a thousand times that of an ordinary person, yet he still can’t use energy rays to unlock the gene lock for others, so ordinary people basically shouldn’t even think about it.

As for wanting to achieve an extraordinary realm by using the energy rays that maintain the body’s operation, that is unlikely as well.

His energy conversion rate is so high, and he still has to develop the super ability to absorb energy from the outside world through pores and skin. Only then can he use energy rays to kill germs and enhance self-healing ability; ordinary people, don’t even mention failing to activate this super ability, being unable to guide energy rays out of the body, even if they do, they can’t achieve the extraordinary.

Why?

The energy conversion rate is too low!

His body is so strong.

According to the so-called cultivation technique.

The conversion rate index is only three.

How can an ordinary person possibly achieve more than a thousand conversion rates?

It’s inconceivable!

Underwhelming performance, the ordinary person’s body isn’t strong enough, which can only mean one thing, the body will collapse.

Despite concluding from the Alchemy Scriptures that it is almost impossible for ordinary people to become extraordinary, Lu Li was still excited.

Because he learned from the ”Understanding Truth Chapter” that the so-called Alchemy Scriptures truly develop human potential to seek longevity.

This is a method developed by countless brilliant geniuses of ancient times, capable of extending lifespan; it’s no wonder.

With modern science so advanced, humans did indeed have their lifespan extended.

Lu Li marveled at the fact that from the Alchemy Scriptures, he could ascertain that if no one else in the world, by chance alone, had unlocked all the gene locks as he had, then becoming extraordinary was impossible.

In other words, am I the only extraordinary being?

At this moment, he could basically be sure that apart from himself, it was almost impossible for anyone else in the world to be extraordinary.

Additionally, he realized he had made one mistake earlier.

He had regarded Daoist Zhen and Daoist Zhang as ”same kind of people,” thinking they could wield ”spells” like him.

In reality, having attempted Inner Core Techniques, it was confirmed that these people couldn’t become extraordinary, naturally unable to perform spells.

Lu Li quietly pondered for a moment and began to consider more important matters.

He thought that since cultivating according to the Alchemy Scriptures could theoretically extend lifespan.

Then ancient wise Daoists should have conducted in-depth research into the spirit.

They could solve his problem!

Lu Li decided to thoroughly understand Alchemy Scriptures and Daoist Scriptures, to find specific methods to resolve the ”spiritual injury.”

He even held a faint expectation.

Since Alchemy Scriptures develop human potential, could he manifest those so-called spells using his formidable Spiritual Power or a large amount of energy rays?

If it truly were possible, his combat abilities would undoubtedly skyrocket!
