Chapter 1424: Third Princess’s Return

The news of the death of the second prince of the Muivell Kingdom shook not only the kingdom but also the entire world.

However, for other kingdoms, this was just a sign that the storm had just struck the Muivell Kingdom. No one actually dared to take advantage of it.

After all, the Muivell Kingdom had Noel Ardagan. The Zaecuria Kingdom and the Greenwood Kingdom had been dealing with Noel a lot, so they knew Noel’s personality. As long as they didn’t disturb the kingdom, he wouldn’t see them as an enemy. Even if he didn’t have the loyalty to the kingdom, he would still fight for the kingdom.

On the other hand, the Atracaeca Kingdom had once felt the wrath of Noel, so it was best not to provoke him any further.

That was why, while the news was shocking, the only people who found this interesting were the ones inside the Muivell Kingdom.

Of course, this news reached the king’s ears.

”This is...” The king’s expression turned grim.

Duke Raymond took a deep breath before inciting everyone’s anger. ”We can’t let this go. Before, it was just Noel Ardagan. And look, the western lords are raising their arms against us.

”We will have to crush them now and make them remember who the royal family is!”

Obviously, if they wanted to suppress the western lords, they would have to send the marshal or the majority of the arbiters. But with the arbiters getting weakened due to all the past events, they had no choice but to choose the former.

In other words, the marshal, the spirit transcendence under the royal family, would finally make his move.

However, there was another message coming.

”Your Majesty. Urgent news! The third princess is returning to the royal palace.”

”!!!” All of them widened their eyes in surprise, but they soon understood why the princess did so.

Duke Raymond muttered, ”The third princess has been staying in the west so that she can keep watching them. Because she is known as a doll, the western lords only thought of her as an observer and didn’t kill her.

”But the moment they raised their arms, they would definitely kill the third princess. That might be the reason for the third princess to return this time.

”Although the third princess was just a doll, she was quite useful.”

No one denied Duke Raymond’s opinion. The third princess was indeed a useful piece. Because of her harmless reputation, she wouldn’t be killed easily.

On the other hand, they could use her to get information. In the end, she would be married off so that the royal family could get the biggest benefit.

If they thought about it, it was better for them to receive the third princess.

The king said, ”The third princess has been observing the western lords this whole time. She must have felt threatened the moment the second prince died.

”I can’t let the western lords murder my son. As a king, as a father... I will get my revenge.

”The third princess is a perfect tool for this justification. With her words as proof, I will mobilize the army and head to the west.”

Little did they know, this was what the third princess meant by having the second prince as her ticket to home.

She couldn’t return easily without being suspected by her family. In that case, there was only one thing she could do.

Create that reason so that it was only reasonable for her to return home. And this was the reason.

The king didn’t realize that the third princess had been waiting for everything. And this return determined the fate of the entire kingdom.

...

Not long after that, there was another person who received the same news in the capital city. It was none other than Kevin Stargaze.

After having his son take over his position, he remained in the capital city as the Fleeting Arbiter.

During this whole time, he had been managing the arbiters and observed their reactions. Of course, his real objective was to gain the allies.

The moment he received this news, Kevin Stargaze finally understood what he was supposed to do. It was related to the letter Anna sent to him not long ago.

Even though he had burned the letter, he could still remember the content vividly.

”Father. The third princess has been hiding everything the whole time. No matter what happens, you shouldn’t be surprised. While I don’t think she is on par with Noel, the way she has been able to hide everything all these years... is so devious. Even Noel admitted he couldn’t do something like that.”

The content of the message was clear. It looked like she was telling him to be wary of this princess, but the moment she mentioned Noel, he knew the third princess was recognized by Noel.

He couldn’t help but remember what Luke Ardagan had told him before. This was the reason they were on a different side in the previous battle for the throne.

It was for him to be able to aid the next person to the throne. Both the current king and the third prince were too insane. Meanwhile, what this kingdom needed at this kind of time was a sane ruler.

It looked like the choice had been made.

Kevin muttered, ”Old friend. This is just like what you said. The timing is much faster, but everything else is proceeding like what you told me in the past.

”The sovereign will change, the world will become better, and the big war is about to come.

”It looks like it’s time for the arbiters to finally take sides. The third princess is going to arrive in four days. In that case, I only have four days to force those people to pick a side.

”Still, I don’t plan to create a rebellion. As Luke said, I have to remain unnoticed and aid the next ruler to ensure the kingdom’s survival. In that case, all I have to do is to stop those arbiters from doing anything.”

Kevin burned this new letter concerning the second prince, his face becoming resolute. Just a few years after the previous battle for the throne, the succession battle had begun again.
