ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

For a man, the act of standing out was more important than money or honor. No, strictly speaking, money and honor were as important as the act of standing out…… But they were just the means to an end, not the end itself.

Ever since the time he was in kindergarten until the time he became a junior high school student、 he never lost in a foot race.

During the summer of his first year of junior high school, he completely abandoned his enthusiasm for running when he lost in a foot race to one of his friends who was called the fastest in the local area for the very first time. And because he realized he wouldn’t stand out nearly as much anymore, he decided to just give it a rest.

As a college student, I has found himself in a position where he decided to become a streamer.

Here it didn’t even matter if you are good or evil. When it comes to video games, Heroes, Villains and clowns alike can become the stars of the show and stand out as much as they want to. It’s a world where everyone would have equal footing. Ans it is the only place where he could satisfy his self-revealing desire that he has had since he was a child. And he could do it as much as he wanted!

The gazes of the various third parties being fixed upon him. For Tsumabuki Satoshi, he did not felt even the least bit uncomfortable when hundreds or thousands of people were looking at him and his efforts when he was streaming, something that would make the vast majority of normal people so self-conscious and awkward that they would become unable to look at themselves in a mirror.

——- When I told his friends and companions about that story, they were all left speechless by it, not really knowing what to say.

「I think that’s because you have just found something that you can be proud of, Reisei……」

Tsumabuki Satoshi…… The Player known as Payabusa murmured while watching the video being streamed by his partner while he himself was busy operating the video editing tool. Of course, as long as you are in a personal cyberspace such as Full Dive VR, those words would never reach anyone else beside the one who spoke them.

Operating one of the consoles, one of the flowing images started to be played. What is projected in that picture is a figure of a man with a strange headgear running through a collapsing world. However, Payabusa’s eyes seem to be looking only at the person in the video, paying no mind at all to the details in the surroundings.

The more he was witnessing that child-like gleam in that person’s eyes, the more he wished that he could be in that position, instead.

「So nice…… That’s so good, ShangriLa Frontier. I wonder, how much will you make me stand out?」

Both reality and quality alike, they are isolated and attract the public’s eyes. Then, if he stood on the same stage as all of them……

「You really are the best, ShangriLa Frontier…… Now I really regret that I was neglecting the project for so long and I didn’t give it enough attention.]

He doesn’t need to be the strongest. He doesn’t need to be the fastest. …… But he wanted to stand first at that stage, no matter what.

And while he was dreaming big like that, his progress on the video editing started to went forward in a flash, it even managed to astonish him.

Even if you die in the process, always keep on going forward. That is Serizawa Suzuka’s personal life policy.

Nothing beats the lifestyle of a military commander during the Warring States period. However, when Suzuka’s thoughts were verbalized, this is what happens. Something truly unexpected.

She hates being satisfied, she hates putting the finished game on the shelf, and above all else she hates the sense of accomplishment that accompanies finishing a game.

It’s just so frustrating when you’re trying something, and then you just feel your entire body freezing up just as you are about to face some kind of a wall or a difficulty. It’s a feeling that can cast a shadow on all of your efforts. But at a time like that, it is a sign that you should probably take a break from the game and try something else for a change. Suzuka’s heart always wants to be that of a challenger, and what she wants to see is not the view from the top of the mountain, but the road that leads up to that very summit.

That is why she thinks that streaming various games can be really fun, but it also leaves her with a severe sense of dissatisfaction.

「You’re so amazing, you know that? ShangriLa Frontier?」

If there was one wish that Serizawa Suzuka had in her heart, it would be to encounter a game that she would be unable to finish until the time she died…… That is a small wish of the All-Night Knight Karintou. She was away from Shangri-La Frontier for some time now because she knew it was a wish that could never be fulfilled. Because she knew that it was a great game, she felt that she would have felt the greatest loneliness ever the moment she would end up clearing it at some point in time.

But that is no longer the case.

Consideration of the various in game strategies. New information being discovered day in and day out, many different players discovering new things and still being far away from being able to unravel the whole “picture”. And to think that al lof this takes place as the gane is slowly on its way to enter its second year of existence!

Every day I she is fascinated by the sheer size of the world called Shangri-La Frontier so that it becomes a secret hobby of Karintou to look at the various capture sites devoted to that game, to see what new things people managed to uncover.

She couldn’t stand it anymore, so when the invitation from PayaGaru-chan came in, just like she thought it would…… There was no longer any reason at all for her to decline it.

Karintou, who started the twenty four-hour endurance stream, muttered in the slight gap until the Iron Meteorite Mirror connects the real world and the virtual world.

「That’s great, ShangriLa Frontier! I want to have more and more fun with you!」

And hopefully that fun can last forever!

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Golf made for one team, a total of eight people at the hotel at the current moment. Those are the members of the GUN! GUN! Mercenary Corps.

People who like FPS get to know each other on FPS sites and tend to stream those kind of games together…… In other words, it’s always a group of players who love FPS going in together and having fun from the very opening moments of the stream to the very end.

After all, they were doing FPS today as well, as usual.

[This is Bravo. Echo, one party in the building over there. No sand.]

[Okay, Echo, throw a granade in there.]

[This is Golf, I’m going to snipe a little at the party beyond that building. I’m looking for the best timing to make a shot.]

[This is Alpha, watching from the side for now…… I standing by the window, now.]

BANG! And pleasant sound. A bullet fired from the roof of an abandoned building cuts through the sky and hits an enemy that was far away. At the same time, the grenade that was thrown explodes, causing two enemy groups to move in a hurry.

GUN! GUN! Mercenary Corps hides and observes their progress without further pursuit. From the other group, only the information that “they were shot from above” is known. Therefore, they judge the people who move in a hurry in the building looking up as bad people, and point their muzzle at the group covered with wet clothes.

[This is Alpha, wonderful job.]

[This is Echo, thank you very much…… and what do you want to do now?]

[This is Delta, drone bombing started. Alpha, join Bravo and others and attack from two directions. The sand group moves as appropriate while supporting the siege side of the building.]

「「Roger that!」」

The group of eight soldiers split into two squads of four, all for the sake of accurately hunting down the remaining enemy forces. All as a part of their grand strategy.

It didn’t take long to settle the matter like this, as it was obvious who took the initiative from the very start.
