Chapter 898: Chapter 894: Wait for Me in the Room Tonight

”It was supposed to be eight in the evening, not eight in the morning!” Xiao Tian let out a bitter laugh, explaining helplessly.

”Then, why didn’t you remind me?!” Xiang Yiting questioned somewhat unhappily, ”By the way, didn’t you call a car to pick us up? Didn’t the driver call you?”

Xiao Tian thought for a moment and replied, ”Probably did.”

”Probably? What do you mean?!” Xiang Yiting was utterly bewildered; it was indeed the first time she had heard such words.

”Because in the underground, there’s basically no phone signal, so if the driver did call, it’s very likely I didn’t receive it,” Xiao Tian explained.

In the middle of the conversation, Xiao Tian’s phone suddenly chimed with a brief message alert. After checking it, he handed the phone to Xiang Yiting: ”The driver couldn’t wait and has left!”

Xiang Yiting took a deep breath, suppressing the emotions swirling inside. It was clearly impossible to leave now.

Without a car, they might not even make it to the city center by dawn, and considering they had only eaten something simple in the morning, she was feeling quite hungry.

Helplessly, Xiang Yiting had no choice but to accept the reality. However, since they were on Adison Claire’s turf, she felt embarrassed to stay without the host’s permission.

Although it was unlikely that Adison Claire would kick them out, Xiang Yiting felt it was necessary to at least inform her.

The two of them made their way to the main building in the moonlight, only to find a light on in a room on the first floor near the front door, the silhouette of a voluptuous woman reflected in the window, seemingly cooking dinner.

Seeing this scene, Xiao Tian somewhat understood why Adison Claire chose this remote place, practically in the middle of nowhere, as her residence.

Because if it were in the suburbs, such a silhouette, if seen by someone with ill intentions, would surely bring trouble.

Of course, the one to suffer would definitely be the person harboring ill intentions!

After some wild thoughts, Xiao Tian followed Xiang Yiting, stepping into the building.

”Claire, the car that was supposed to pick us up has left. May we stay here tonight?” Standing at the kitchen entrance, Xiang Yiting asked very politely.

Since noon until now, Adison Claire had spoken less than a handful of words, and though she understood Claire wasn’t a cold person, she couldn’t help feeling a bit anxious inside.

”Sure, pick any room on the second floor and clean it up yourself,” Adison Claire replied casually while flipping the vegetables in the pot.

”Thank you!” Xiang Yiting expressed her gratitude, then proceeded to head upstairs first, intending to tidy up the resting room before dinner.

After Xiang Yiting left, only Xiao Tian and Adison Claire remained on the first floor, one inside the kitchen and the other standing outside, neither choosing to speak first.

When Adison Claire plated the food from the pot, she suddenly and unexpectedly rushed toward Xiao Tian.

Xiao Tian only saw a blur in front of his eyes, his body abruptly slamming against the wall behind, and his vision was completely filled with a terrifying face.

”While I was doing my experiment, you kept staring at my face. Do you think I’m beautiful?” Adison Claire’s voice was slightly cold as she spoke.

Truth be told, Adison Claire had a very pleasant voice, but combined with a face that had more than a third covered with terrifying scars, it was indeed quite intimidating.

Pressed against the wall with no escape, Xiao Tian had no choice but to give a wry smile and said, ”I was wondering if there’s a way to restore you to your original appearance!”

As soon as Xiao Tian said this, an uncontrollable flash of light flickered in Adison Claire’s eyes, but it vanished momentarily, clearly not holding much hope.

Xiao Tian accurately sensed this anomaly. As long as Adison Claire cared about her appearance, that was good enough. The biggest concern was if she were impervious to both kindness and hostility, leaving one with an overwhelming sense of discomfort with nowhere to apply one’s efforts!

”Do you think I am not beautiful enough now?” Adison Claire slightly lowered her head, looking down at Xiao Tian, while her hand touched between his legs.

Xiao Tian was stunned for a full five seconds before he reacted, silently exclaiming, damn!

He had only heard that Western women were more open, but he didn’t expect them to be this unabashed upon first meeting?!

However, upon reacting, Xiao Tian felt incredibly fearful. In the five seconds of distraction, if Adison Claire had meant him any harm, he might have already been in dire straits.

”I remember you said you had something to ask me for help, right?” Adison Claire’s hand remained on Xiao Tian’s sensitive area, while her other hand lifted his chin, asking as if playfully teasing a lover.

At this moment, Xiao Tian very much wanted to close his eyes to avoid looking at the face so close to his. Though he wasn’t someone who judged based on looks, in this case, horror was the only emotion he could feel.

As for thinking it was alluring, anyone in their right mind wouldn’t have such thoughts.

Suppressing the extremely awkward feeling, Xiao Tian spoke, ”I have a friend who’s been poisoned by some kind of chemical toxin...”

However, before he could finish, Adison Claire interrupted, ”Don’t rush. Let’s deal with what’s in front of us first.”

As soon as she said this, Xiao Tian saw the person in front of him let her brown hair, tied at the back, down, her head pressing against his forehead, appearing as if she would approach at any moment.

Just as Xiao Tian was considering giving up and pushing Adison Claire away, footsteps sounded from the stairs.

Adison Claire chuckled softly, then nonchalantly released Xiao Tian, leisurely tying her hair back up. After bringing out the food from the kitchen, she headed to the dining table in the hall, calling out to Xiang Yiting, who was slowly descending the stairs.

As she passed by Xiao Tian, she whispered in a barely audible voice, ”Wait for me in your room tonight!”

Xiao Tian was immediately stunned, watching Adison Claire’s back with a look of shock, though his inner feelings were completely the opposite of his expression.

His instinct told him that Adison Claire was not as frivolous and wild as she appeared, but he couldn’t understand why every time he tried to tell her the purpose of his visit, she would interrupt him?!

”What are you standing there for?” Xiang Yiting looked at the pensive Xiao Tian and couldn’t help but ask.

Xiao Tian smiled, ”Nothing, it’s just that I feel a bit sorry for today’s events. I originally thought we’d be going back in the afternoon, but now I’ve dragged you into staying here overnight.”

Hearing this, Xiang Yiting felt a bit embarrassed herself, saying, ”It’s not entirely your fault; if it weren’t for me falling asleep, we wouldn’t have missed the car.”

Having said that, Xiang Yiting didn’t wait for Xiao Tian’s reply and quietly asked, ”Did you tell her about your friend’s situation?”
