Chapter 877: Chapter 873: Couple’s Package

For Xiao Tian’s response, which was honest to the extreme, Xiang Yiting truly felt a kind of uncontrollable anger, but recalling that incredibly close brush with death earlier, she could only summon all her strength to press down the flames of anger that kept rising.

As for the recent narrow escape from death, it didn’t leave much impression on Xiang Yiting’s heart; she had been through similar situations countless times before, yet she managed to survive every time.

To this, Xiang Yiting could only mock herself, saying that her life was more tenacious than a cockroach!

Quickly pulling out a pill bottle from her pocket, she swallowed two pills and only then began to calm down from her anger.

Calm and composed, Xiang Yiting took a deep breath and realized, upon further reflection, that Xiao Tian’s approach just now wasn’t actually wrong.

Turning her head, she looked at that tall, slender figure and then at the round-framed glasses on his nose. No matter how she looked, he didn’t seem like someone who could fight.

On the contrary, the opponents not only had greater numbers but also looked like belligerent types, with their robust and tall physiques and those menacing tattoos, indeed possessing considerable intimidation.

Thinking of this, Xiang Yiting couldn’t help but blush slightly and said, somewhat awkwardly, ”Sorry, I got a little too emotional just now!”

”It’s okay. Since the money’s already been paid, let’s put those unpleasant things behind us and focus on having a good time.” Xiao Tian replied while walking.

”Okay!”

Xiang Yiting nodded lightly and said softly, ”I’ll give you my share of the commission later.”

Xiao Tian neither accepted nor refused, only smiled and walked ahead towards the mooring wooden boats.

Behind him, Xiang Yiting hurried to catch up, though a bit displeased in her heart. The earlier nearly blatant extortion she encountered buzzed around like flies in her ears, causing annoyance that couldn’t be shaken off despite efforts to adjust her mindset.

Moreover, regardless of what was said, both Xiao Tian and Xiang Yiting knew clearly, after such experiences, having a fun time was certainly not possible.

But since the money was already paid, not going would indeed be quite a loss, so they could only grit their teeth and go for it.

Upon reaching the edge where the boats were parked, they saw that the staff who had led them to pay earlier was now untying the boat ropes, wearing an orange life jacket and holding two wooden oars, looking very impatient from waiting.

Seeing Xiao Tian and Xiang Yiting still strolling leisurely, the staff couldn’t help but frown, ”I really don’t know what you’re dawdling for. Can you hurry up? If you’re any later, it’ll be meal time.”

Upon hearing this, Xiang Yiting immediately felt the anger rising again, rapidly surging from her heart to invade her mind, with a sense of suffocation overwhelming her once more.

Xiang Yiting knew clearly that this was just a sign, and if not restrained promptly, the consequences would be uncontrollable.

Thus, she hurriedly took out the pill bottle from her pocket, about to take two more pills.

Of course, Xiang Yiting knew very well that this was beyond the doctor’s prescribed dosage limit, but at this moment, she had no choice; even if she had to endure the unbearable side effects, she had to take the medicine.

However, just as she was about to raise her hand, she suddenly felt a gentle pat on her back, almost making her drop the pills in her hand.

Strangely enough, after being patted, Xiang Yiting felt much better, while Xiao Tian’s words entered her ears.

”Feeling unwell?”

This was clearly a rhetorical question, but Xiao Tian didn’t want to attract attention, so he only helped Xiang Yiting in this unobtrusive manner.

”Much better!”

Xiang Yiting replied, carefully placing the pills back into the bottle, knowing only too well how precious the medicine was.

Xiang Yiting had once calculated that if she added up the cost of the special medication she needed to take for a year, within two years, she could buy a mid-range sedan with full payment.

For wealthy people, this might seem trivial, but for Xiang Yiting, whose family’s financial condition wasn’t that ample, it was akin to a fortune.

However, she had no choice; since fate had decided for her, she could only choose to accept.

Fortunately, Xiang Yiting remained somewhat optimistic, always believing that if heaven gave her this misfortune, it would surely double compensate her somewhere, just needing to wait for an opportunity to arise!

At this moment, yelling from not far away interrupted her thoughts again.

”Are you going or not?!”

The staff member wearing the life jacket on the boat stood up angrily, yelling sternly at Xiao Tian and Xiang Yiting.

Worried that Xiang Yiting’s mood might fluctuate again, Xiao Tian comforted, ”It’s okay, just think of him as having mental problems.”

”You’re quite good at comforting yourself.” Despite saying so, Xiang Yiting’s mood improved slightly and followed Xiao Tian onto the boat.

However, the next moment, when she saw the whole of the wooden boat, she felt extremely displeased again.

The entirely wooden structure of the boat not only looked a bit shabby but apart from the rower’s seat, there was just a pair of facing seats, with less than fifty centimeters between them.

Which meant, if she sat on it with Xiao Tian, they would have to maintain a very close distance, possibly even sticking together.

”Clearly, there’s a bigger boat next to it. Why give us such a small one?!” Xiang Yiting couldn’t help but protest.

”Why are you so troublesome?!”

The staff member at the bow shouted angrily too, ”You said very clearly when you bought the tickets, it’s a couples’ package, understand?! Between couples, the closer, the better. Do you want to sit meters apart doing your own thing to be satisfied?!”

This righteous reasoning truly left Xiang Yiting speechless for a long time, unable to retort for moments before regaining her toughness, ”We didn’t even choose a couples’ package when booking, did we? How dare you decide for us and still have the audacity?!”

”I don’t care, I only recognize the tickets, not the people. Your package is a couples’ package, so you can only take this standard wooden boat. If you want to change, you can, simply buy a new ticket!”

Xiao Tian was somewhat annoyed by the hassle and said, ”Let’s go.”

”Where to?” Xiang Yiting was stunned.

”Buy new tickets, we’ll switch to another boat,” Xiao Tian said directly.

”You, you...” Xiang Yiting stomped anxiously, ”Are you blind to see they’re trying to scam us?!”

”Then what do you suggest we do?” Xiao Tian directly threw the problem to Xiang Yiting, waiting for her solution.

At this moment, Xiang Yiting truly felt pretty much at her wits’ end, her anxiety seemed tangible, pressing on her heart.

Having lived in Japan for a long time, she knew some unspoken rules too.

Recalling the reckless, nonchalant look of the counterpart after she mentioned the word ’complaint’, she understood that the operators there surely had connections, complaints likely wouldn’t get through.
