Chapter 864: Chapter 860: Breaking into the Emergency Room

Of course, part of the guilt lies in Ghost Face being hurt as a result, but it wasn’t her deliberate intention. Although she bears some responsibility, she can’t be entirely blamed.

Given the current situation, to stabilize externally, one must first calm internally. Xiao Tian must ensure Lin Bingxuan and Melinda don’t act rashly under such excessive guilt.

Otherwise, not to mention saving Ghost Face and finding the mastermind, just the internal instability would be enough to make him frantic.

Therefore, he must first calm Melinda’s emotions!

”Feeling this awful, do you think it’s an insult to your intelligence?” Xiao Tian teased intentionally.

As expected, Melinda was not in high spirits, and responded, ”I just feel that if I hadn’t acted on my own and brought back the fake treasure, Mr. Ghost Face wouldn’t be in a coma.”

”If Mr. Ghost Face wasn’t in a coma now, he could proceed with the next stage of the Five Elements Crystal research...”

Before she could finish, she saw Xiao Tian nodding in agreement, saying, ”If you put it that way, then you don’t need to blame yourself at all because it’s my responsibility from start to finish!”

”...” Melinda looked at Xiao Tian strangely, obviously not understanding what he meant.

Xiao Tian said quite frankly, ”You see, if my strength didn’t need the energy from the Five Elements Crystal for recovery, you wouldn’t be looking for the Shaking Light Disc. If you didn’t look for the Shaking Light Disc, you wouldn’t have gotten the fake one. If you didn’t get the fake one...”

Listing everything that followed, Xiao Tian then said, ”You see, when you trace to the root, in the end, none of us can escape. If I keep tracing back and get mired in it, it will be endless regret and guilt!”

After saying this, seeing Melinda deep in thought, Xiao Tian continued, ”Because we are a whole, and none of us could foresee what would happen next. So, what we must do is face the challenge at hand, not wallow in the past!”

”But...” Melinda lifted her head, wanting to explain that she didn’t mean that, but Xiao Tian firmly interrupted her.

”There’s no ’but’. Blaming yourself solves nothing, and regret doesn’t change the fact that it’s already happened!”

Xiao Tian repeated, ”We are a whole, so your guilt becomes my guilt, and everything you do will affect me.”

Upon hearing this, Melinda felt a warmth surge in her heart, spreading through her body along her meridians, an indescribable warmth and comfort, but her eyes suddenly turned red, tears welling up.

The next moment, Melinda hugged Xiao Tian tightly, tears streaming down, but her expression was indescribably happy.

For a moment, although neither spoke, this deeply affectionate embrace spoke louder than words!

However, just then, an urgent phone ring broke the silence, causing them to exchange surprised glances.

Xiao Tian picked up the receiver, and a man’s anxious voice came through, ”President Lin, please come to the hospital quickly, the gentleman we’ve been tasked to take care of is in trouble.”

Melinda also heard the anxious message, and promptly explained, ”Earlier, Sister Bingxuan sent company people to care for Mr. Ghost Face and instructed them to call immediately if anything happened.”

After hanging up, Xiao Tian immediately stood up and said, ”Bingxuan’s situation is quite delicate now, so you wait here for her to come out. I’ll go to the hospital alone!”

As much as she wanted to go check the situation, Melinda understood that what Xiao Tian said was entirely true, so she nodded seriously, agreeing, and urged, ”Be careful on the road, and contact me anytime if anything happens!”

”Don’t worry!”

Having said that, Xiao Tian grabbed his coat from the armrest, putting it on as he headed out the door.

Driving out from the underground garage, Xiao Tian raced towards the city center hospital, unable to contain his anxiety.

...

Upon reaching the sixth floor after checking at the front desk, Xiao Tian immediately noticed seven or eight people in suits guarding outside the emergency room at the end of the hallway.

As he approached, the seven or eight people stood up in a row, blocking the already narrow hallway entirely, presenting an absolute barrier.

”Who are you?”

The leader scrutinized Xiao Tian suspiciously while asking.

Xiao Tian simply stated his name, ”I’m Xiao Tian!”

”Xiao Tian?!”

The leading man’s brow furrowed, muttering, ”Sounds familiar somehow.”

Someone behind him seemed to recall and reminded, ”I think President Lin’s fiancé is called Xiao Tian, could it be...”

Xiao Tian impatiently waved his hand, ”No need to guess, I am that Xiao Tian. How’s the situation inside now?”

After revealing his identity, the previously tense atmosphere dissipated immediately, replaced by eager replies, eyes filled with indescribable enthusiasm.

Naturally, Xiao Tian understood what they wanted—an opportunity to prove themselves, hoping for future promotions.

But right now, Xiao Tian didn’t have time for these matters, immediately stopping their chatter and stated authoritatively, ”Speak one at a time.”

The leader then glared fiercely at the others before looking at Xiao Tian with a softened expression, reporting, ”Just now, the gentleman’s condition suddenly deteriorated, and the monitors sounded the alarm. Afterward, a group of doctors and nurses came to push him into the emergency room.”

Glancing at the time, Xiao Tian felt something wasn’t right, ”When was he taken to the emergency room?”

The leading man picked up a file from a lounge chair behind him, looked through it, and replied, ”Fifteen minutes ago.”

Xiao Tian narrowed his eyes, quickly absorbing the data on the file in the man’s hands, which recorded Ghost Face’s condition in detail.

After a moment of contemplation, Xiao Tian suddenly looked toward the emergency room door, his gaze filled with unprecedented urgency. Before the others could react, Xiao Tian was no longer there.

Meanwhile, the emergency room door was suddenly forced open with a bang, leaving the doctors and nurses inside and those guarding outside in utter astonishment.

Those preparing for a rescue were shocked to see an unexpected person appear, and after the initial shock, anger quickly followed.

”Who let you in?!”

”Do you know how much impact this can have on the patient?!”

”Leave immediately, or you’ll be responsible if anything happens!”

Faced with the outraged reprimands of the medical staff, Xiao Tian didn’t feel perturbed; after all, it was their duty, and a few scoldings were warranted.

However, despite this, Xiao Tian stood firm, showing no intention of responding to the nearby warnings, staring at the sleeping-like Ghost Face on the bed.
