Chapter 150: Advance to Official Sorcerer

What met his eyes was a room with scarlet-red walls similar to lava.

After Glenn awoke, he somewhat blankly stared at this strange room. The interior was completely the same as his small room in Black Isotta School of Sorcerers. It even included all the experiments and specimens from there, only there weren’t any live specimens still living.

When he lost consciousness before, he had been clearly drawn into the world core by the law chain. How did it come to be this current situation?

This was a spiritual environment similar to the Tower Ruins? Or was it his own delusional dream? Or… did the world core somewhat change itself?

Suddenly, Glenn became aware he was a bit thirsty and wished to look for some water. And in what seemed like a split second eureka moment to Glenn, the space in front of him had a floating cup filled with fresh water inside.

This was…

Glenn’s eyes widened. With an incredulous expression, he reached toward the cup of water with a slight tremble. In the split second he came in contact with the cup of water, he was able to feel that it was the real thing. He hesitated a bit. Glenn moved the cup of water to his mouth little by little. A cool and clear stream of water went into his mouth and flowed down his throat.

After Glenn finished drinking the water, he felt there was no more use for the cup and thought to head toward the table and set it down. However, the cup disappeared by itself.

Right away it seemed as if the cup of water had never appeared in the first place.

“No, no way!”

Glenn shook his head. Even though all his thoughts and senses told Glenn that everything before his eyes was the truth, that everything just a moment ago truly happened, reason told Glenn this was an illusion!

How could a life form have this kind of ability?

After fanciful imaginings, the ability for matter, elements, and life to appear from nothing was fiction and fantasy. In mythological stories, it was gods that grasped this ability!

That’s right. Inside almost every single myth there would always be that kind of god. Owing to them being a loner or some other reason, they used an ability ordinary people were incapable of comprehending to create each and every different version of the mythical world. They created life. They molded natural law. They evolved all living things of the world…

This was exactly a god’s most original ability!

Only, inside practically every individual myth, once a god created a world, their strength seemed to gradually change from a wonderful form which could not be conceived so “it” was the highest level life form found inside that world they founded.

Even though it was still utterly powerful, it nevertheless could be killed.

Apparently, it can be understood that for once this god created a world, they seemed to have fallen a dimension and turned to an even more low-dimensional life form. At the same time “it” was also bound by the fundamental rules of the world they created. It could no longer be considered omnipotent–it was no longer capable of changing some of the most basic laws according to its whims.

In this way, the death and fall of a god had become a common and reasonable matter inside all myth and legendary stories.

However…

At this very moment, Glenn just molded the cup and water out of thin air. Wasn’t this just like some original ability of gods?!

Underneath the ashen mask, the depths of Glenn’s eye had a trace of reason burst forth. He whimsically imagined “Lafite” but nothing appeared.

Was it on account of not being able to create life? Or was it because he did not have an understanding of Lafite’s intrinsic quality that she was incapable of being molded into being?

Conjecturing, Glenn imagined and said, “Frog.”

He didn’t know how many dissections he did that were only frogs and Glenn naturally believed he had a comparatively thorough analysis and understanding when it came to frogs. It was even to the extent that he could use mental strength at any time to model out a frog’s structure and then transform it into another organism through elemental activity.

However, nothing appeared and the space was just like before.

It was because there was nothing to be done to make a life form, right? So if…

Glenn imagined on a whim and said, “Greed Flame Giant.”

After an elemental fluctuation, a four-meter-tall Greed Flame Giant just appeared in this groundless way next to Glenn. Its entire form was completely identical to Glenn’s Greed Flame Giant. However, Glenn did not get the slightest amount of response to his own spiritual structure nor was there any variation to his magical strength. Furthermore, there was also no mental connection to himself at all.

It seemed this was merely an empty framework of a greed flame giant.

Hsssss…

Glenn abruptly felt his head somewhat burst. This was not his physical body or his spirit from his own understanding of the origin of mental strength. The burst seemed to be another kind of wondrous energy he created and used.

This was… imagination being consumed?

Just when Glenn felt his stupid conjecture was ridiculous, the “small room’s” surrounding scarlet-red walls seemed to soften a little. At the same time, the specimens, table, and chair all seemed to slightly distort a bit–so much so that it appeared to slightly melt.

Glenn was stunned!

Countless trains of thought move through Glenn’s mind as he seemed to realize something. With sheer imagination a “Glenn Elemental Great Staff 1.0 Enhanced Edition” without any change was formed before changing it to “Glenn Elemental Great Staff 1.0 Official Edition.” Space twisted and it appeared.

Subsequently, Glenn took this whimsically imagined magic staff and, together with his own magic staff, put it in his waist space bag.

Just wishing to use magic to excite the world-core fragment of the halo on top of his head, Glenn apparently once again thought of something. Imagining, he said, “Glenn advances to official sorcerer.”

There wasn’t any response whatsoever…

At the same time, all the things within the small room began to soften, warp, and melt like a situation where a chunk of ice was under the scorching sun.

It seemed that this ought to be some special ability of the world core interior. The principal will’s ability to shape reality?

If he left here afterward and the duplicate “Glenn Elemental Great Staff 1.0 Official Edition” appeared from inside his space bag, everything here was precisely connected to the god ability within legends. If the magic staff disappeared, everything here could be classified as being nothing more than some natural phenomenon of the world’s principal will.

With this thought, Glenn no longer hesitated. He excited the world-core fragment above the halo.

BOOM!

In a split second, Glenn felt himself appear to turn into an eye of a boundlessly immense life body!

If one had to make an analogy, Glenn was like a life code on the test-bed “sorcerer world” after attempting to flee from the eye of life body. Glenn stood at the height of the whole sorcerer world and looked at the endless world. It was not a cell’s point of view being aware of everything surrounding them.

Glenn did his utmost to struggle. He breathed in a big mouthful of what could be classified as his own air. He looked at his own point of view of the world!

In this one moment, Glenn caught sight of a world different from the rest.

As a matter of fact, it was the world’s elemental natural energy. It was the powerful solitary life form of the subterranean space. It was a profound and unwarranted mystic energy.

At that moment, Glenn saw up to what could be known as the power of rules.

If one had to explain, every world’s interior was a sealed environment that had countless law chains. Law chains itself were formed from countless rule chain links closely linked with one another.

In that case…

The external part of every world and the void space of the endless world made either side of a giant scale. This was the most fundamental rule of the endless world: equilibrium.

The law exists in every corner of the endless world where there was a place every life can probe, search, and be explored. It exists in any life form itself.

The so-called natural force was only the energy padding evolved underneath the rules and regulations framework.

The rules can be understood to be a ball of fire while natural force was only the light and heat emitted from said fireball and nothing more.

KACHA!

After a sharp and clear noise, Glenn suddenly felt he was once more turned back to himself. He returned to being a normal cell on test-bed within the body of the “sorcerer world” and was no longer attempting to escape the sorcerer world’s autonomous eye life body.

Glenn slightly raised his head up. A light sound issued out from beneath the ashen mask. A type of metamorphosis upon the soul continued underway. In addition, not only was soul essentially self-promoting, but a type of completely harmonious energy also began to focus toward Glenn from the surrounding scarlet-red walls of the room. It merged with Glenn and refined his soul.

This kind of energy body was just like being put under the protection of the sorcerer world’s principal will.

Accompanying the wake of Glenn’s soul promotion, there seemed like some kind of living layer raised in a split second to make contact with the endless world’s most underlying equilibrium lever. It gave rise to a round of ripples sweeping out.

An infinitely shrunk and perfectly balanced lever took shape between Glenn’s physical body and mental strength.

And the promoted soul was just like this lever’s fulcrum.

Glenn used great effort to maintain his own willpower while in this wondrous situation. At this very moment, this kind of beautiful state truly made a person infatuated. At this moment, in the deepest depth’s of Glenn’s heart, there was a difficult to describe longing. It seemed that with the power of mental strength, this kind of beautiful moment can just continue for an even longer time. And it appeared his physical body’s vitality could just act as the price to upgrade mental strength rising to a higher level.

The mental strength of a first-class sorcerer was capped at 100 points. So long as one invested their entire physical vitality, one would immediately get between 80~90 points of mental strength.

At this moment, Glenn had a feeling. A feeling that was exactly like entering the black mirror of the Tower Ruins.

What was different was Glenn presently had a feeling endlessly and wonderfully intoxicated. The black mirror of the Tower Ruins, in contrast, was a sensation of bearing eternal loneliness.

So amidst the equilibrium, Glenn was able to maintain his clear-headed reasoning perfectly.

“In the end, did I succeed in taking a step in starting the advancement to official sorcerer?” Glenn muttered to himself. At the same time, his eyes beneath the ashen mask show a steady gaze. The soul fulcrum began to lean in the direction of mental strength.

Immediately following, when this balance lever started pointing up on the side of mental strength, physical vitality began to drop.

Like the noise of babbling running water, Glenn’s mental strength began to rapidly reduce and some living biological activity started to rapidly upgrade. Apart from the clear external growth from the body, life code mended and the body’s deepest instinctual strength also received an upgrade.

This instinct… the talent of connecting dimensional gaps?

Gradually, Glenn’s mental strength dropped from 40 points to 12 points. His physique, in contrast, shifted from 111 points to 139 points. And following Glenn successfully lifting the soul lever to make use of the power of rules, an instinct which absorbed rules and issued out natural force within Glenn’s soul was born.

This instinct was just like making use of the soul to manipulate natural force. It was a basic method of any sorcerer above sorcerer-apprentice level.

At this very moment, Glenn finally became an official sorcerer!

In this one moment, when Glenn succeeded in advancing to an official sorcerer, his right hand instinctually drew a line. A black crack appeared between reality and illusion.

“Save me and get me out of here!” In the depths of the black crevice, a parrot shrieked emotionally.
