A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 149: Eternal Enemy

Approximately ten or so hours passed.

In the second half of the destiny lever’s journey, Glenn passed the time with a clear mind. As a result, he felt the passage of time to be particularly long. In contrast to those sorcerer-apprentices genuinely drunk with enjoyment, the entire process of sliding through the destiny lever just seemed like a common beautiful dream. One eye closed, one eye open to arrive at the end of the destiny lever at once.

Gradually, the source of the sorcerer world’s countless law chains appeared within everyone’s view.

This was a scarlet-red irregular sphere with a diameter of approximately ten-thousand meters. The reason why it was said to be irregular was precisely owing to a dark-gray sphere growing from the bottom of the scarlet-red sphere that was probably five thousand meters in diameter.

This was the sorcerer world’s original will—the world core!

Although the world core’s main bulk seemed to resemble the scarlet-red of lava, with the cracks within giving off golden radiance, there wasn’t even a bit of broiling heat felt.

The surging golden river of the destiny lever was similar to a very large textile shuttle. Both ends were fine and delicate while the middle was boundless. The exquisite ends connected the world core and the sorcerer levering point plaza. The boundless middle was the destiny fulcrum.

“Oh, that’s right. All the towers of the sorcerer world have borrowed the idea of the destiny lever’s ability…” Glenn suddenly called to mind this matter.

Whether one spoke of it or not, the destiny lever itself had already turned into the sorcerer world’s law and melody. Every tower’s ability to travel back and through the void to conquer alien lands really did not employ the destiny lever itself. Rather, didn’t the holy towers merely lever and move the sorcerer world which belonged to the law of the destiny lever and that’s all?

At this moment, a crowd of sorcerer-apprentices had all already woke up in the “destiny river.” They quietly looked toward the distance at the continuously approaching world core.

All the sorcerer-apprentices were able to clearly see the world core come in contact with a part of the destiny lever appearing from an enormous gap several hundred meters in diameter. The crack was encircled by endless, hard to count multicolored runes. These rainbow-colored runes seemed to be a huge seal and appeared to be a bandage on top of the world core’s very large wound.

From time to time this multicolored seal bandage would tremble a bit and the countless seals in a variety of colors would flash. It appeared to block something inside the wound from erupting and furthermore appeared to quite have the desired effect.

Indeed, in between the small cracks of the seal, it all would somewhat erupt out with sporadic points of light.

Oy…

Glenn didn’t know if it were his spiritual misperception or Glenn’s own imagination. Yet it was as if after a silent sigh from the world core’s wound erupted an indescribable power from the point of light, it was absorbed and appeared to disappear.

Underneath Glenn’s Ashen Mask, his two eyes unerringly gazed upon the world core’s rainbow-colored seal. His gaze flashing with a difficult to describe sorrow. He recalled what Master Peranos had already informed him of the sorcerer world’s most top-level secret.

A single world’s world core was precisely the top embodiment of all the living things in a world’s collaborative will.

Normally, when a world core was destroyed there were only two types of circumstances. One was in the wake of changing over endless years with certain internal innate world laws being excessively self-consumed. The balance fell short, bringing about the world core’s life span coming to an end and then collapsing on itself. Another type of circumstance is when numerous necromancy sorcerer-ranked super-organisms do not interrupt the destruction of a world’s underlying rules and regulations, until this one world’s life forms were all completely destroyed. After, the representative will of all living things in the world core would also naturally disappear.

Apart from this, the world core was practically invulnerable.

Even if a powerful life form barely manages to damage a trace of the world core again, the world core would be restored because of the endless world’s equilibrium law. There was zero possibility of it shattering.

However!

The sorcerer world’s world core, nevertheless, was an exception.

In ancient times, those great necromancers willingly sacrificed their own lives to act as a destiny fulcrum in order to save the sorcerer world’s late civilization. It took advantage of the sorcerer world’s former rich resources to act as a power source to lever and move the sorcerer world from its world coordinates within the endless void, changing the tragic fate of the sorcerer world when it had been on the verge of falling.

All this on the surface appeared to be the end of the sorcerer world’s tragic fate and the beginning of a new journey.

However, the true appearance was actually…

Even though those great necromancers sacrificed their everything, it only delayed the fate of the fall of the sorcerer world by a few era’s time and nothing more.

Indeed, the destiny lever managed to have the sorcerer world successfully separate itself from the evil clutches of that powerful civilization, giving the sorcerer world a new fate. Those necromancers before dying also regrettably spoke out an intelligent line famously, even to the extent that numerous remaining ancient stigmata sorcerers and necromancers all were under the impression that the fate of the sorcerer world already managed to change. But found…

Below the world core, upon the direction of the destiny lever, a shattered crack appeared on the sorcerer world’s original will.

Seemingly it was on account of the sorcerer world already completely separating itself from its original endless world coordinates. The equilibrium law of the endless world did not occur in the sorcerer world’s world core.

At once it seemed…

The endless world’s fate no longer cared for this sorcerer world that tried to break away from its destiny of being destroyed!

In this way, the crack in the world core of the sorcerer world was unable to self-restore. And so, because the outer shell shattered, the world core’s internal life root then began to crumble and fade away. This was exactly a sign that the world core was starting to wither and fall apart.

Within the frenetic ancient sorcerers they all tried to think of a method, ultimately having no other choice but to arrange this representation of the sorcerer world’s strongest sealing capability’s arcobaleno[1] space-time seal technique.

On the one hand, the sorcerer world with all its strength delayed the world core’s date of destruction. On the other hand, they staked their everything on developing and strengthening the sorcerer civilization to try, before the sorcerer world completely perished, to defeat that powerful civilization that had once made the sorcerer world resemble a stray dog fleeing in disarray.

Only when the sorcerer world moved from the new coordinates to return to its original coordinates would the sorcerer world be able to newly return to the endless world’s equilibrium system and then redeem its ruined fate.

For the purpose of this objective. For the purpose of this one ideal!

All the sorcerer world’s necromancers abandoned all their former internal conflicts, forging a united will.

Up until the: Five Great Abyssal Tower’s establishment; Legendary Knight’s Willpower School’s founding; Dark Domain and sorcerer continent’s two-way agreement; Sky Holy Tower developing the principal will space fortress invasion technology; and endless world sorcerer coalition’s major total harmonious system!

Down to: bright and dark sorcerer factions being differentiated; district schools bringing up elite sorcerer-apprentices filtered through the gu system[2]; the system where ougi sorcerers trained elite disciples were encouraged; strategic placement and establishing of regional schools; all holy towers frantically invading any aboriginal world peripherally known in order to plunder even more natural resources, knowledge, and soul slave reserves!

At this moment, everything in the sorcerer world was “flourishing, harmonious, and prosperous” as a result of the collaborative will of all the necromancy sorcerers that experienced and survived the second civilization war.

It was precisely…

The sorcerer world’s great effort to stake their all to save the sorcerer world from the destructive fate it was caught up in.

In this way, the sorcerer world can have the appellation of world slave owner. This was owing to the sorcerer world’s merciless external affairs!

In this way, the Black Isotta first-year trials had such a bloody reputation. This was the sorcerer world’s domestic cruelty!

It was because of these numerous things that the sorcerer world might have a chance, in a distant unknown time in the future, to redeem itself from the miserable fate of its own destruction.

The current sorcerer world was merely seriously hurt after the event. Cutting a sorry figure and lapping at its own wounds with eyes filled with hatred, wrath, and hunger emitting a dark-green cold light of a homeless and starving wolf devouring everything it can see. All in order to strengthen itself to defeat the terrible evil beast that snatched away what was theirs and to break away from the starving and freezing evil plague that was their fate of death.

The cruelty of the endless world racial civilization war. There never was any tears or sympathy—only even sharper hunting teeth and even more sharp fingernails!

A starving wolf that had experienced defeat, it’s dark-green cold eyes internally no longer only possessed cruelty facing the enemy but was also cruel to itself!

Its claws crazily preying on all prey weaker compared to itself.

Its fierce-looking fangs seem to be swallowing everything it can see.

Its stomach appeared to be a bottomless pit. No matter how much it was filled it was dissatisfied, an abyss-like stomach.

Its heart merely only had cunning, cruelty, and blood-thirstiness left over. There was no fear as well as… hatred.

This was a path the sorcerer world did not have a way out of.

It can only do everything it can to charge through. Charge through but that was the same as perishing.

…

A sorcerer entirely clad in black robes just like that, still and calmly, sat at the location of the arcobaleno space-time seal on top of the world core’s crevice.

The sorcerer world’s arcobaleno space-time seal guardian?

However, people had to take note of the floating pure-white snow flower behind the sorcerer. It looked like a snow lotus.

The spotlessly white snow flower had six points with white velveteen tentacles. In the middle, there was anthropomorphic features of the face—a pair of enormous eyes with curled eyelashes blossoming indescribable luster.

Curled eyelashes of small snow flowers?

It seemed like this snow flower belonged to the sorcerer world’s snow spirit. The white snow will represented the four seasonal changes.

It appeared bitter cold and callous but was, in fact, pregnant with new life force.

“Eighty people, huh. All are present…” Beneath the black robes of a sorcerer was the voice of a woman. The white mist made people unable to see their face as they sat at the end of the destiny lever. On the topmost location of the arcobaleno space-time seal of the world core, they watched all sorcerer world living things slip over to the destiny lever.

Every “person” all nervously gulped, looking up at that black-robed sorcerer that was emitting a white mist.

It was owing to what was located above this sorcerer’s head. A small mountain completely from life root drifted, emitting a hard to describe enticing power. Numerous sorcerer-apprentices right away were like newborn infants instinctually seeking out mother’s milk.

This life root was truly not in the least valuable and may be said to be the precursor of “sorcery essence.” It was the sorcerer world’s world fragment!

Sorcery Essence lost to life root energy and did not possess any use itself. It also had no value. It may be said it was only the sorcerer world’s holy towers were entrusted that its value and its abilities became valuable.

It was like… gold coin in the commoner world.

Sorcerer-apprentices only needed to obtain these fragments. Even if only a little bit, they could absolutely advance in rank to an official sorcerer right away and grasp nature force!

Lianti sorcerers only needed to get these fragments. No matter how little, whatever was regarded as wild instinct could be perceived at a deep level. The physique would passively increase. Imitation of foreign land powerful organisms, purifying nature all had a hard to state clear benefit!

As for machinists, dark sorcerers and even to the extent of oceanic race, all can have one’s own trait perfectly evolve. This was the resolve of the principal will’s sublimation nature.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

From atop the head of the sorcerer world guardian in black robes, life root upon the small mountain flew out around eighty various world fragments. Individually it shot toward the eighty present that were native people of the sorcerer world. It seems like a resplendent meteor shower streaming across the sky.

Seven Rings Holy Tower’s five sorcerer-apprentices’ location.

The five sorcerer-apprentices gazed at the five world-core fragments flying over from the sky. One large. One medium. Three small. It developed a longing in one’s heart.

Nairo looked toward the largest world-core fragment flowing over and her face displayed a trace of happiness. This world-core fragment’s volume was rather big. Even compared to the other eighty world-core fragments, it still stood out in a dazzling way.

Yupao gazed at the medium-sized world-core fragment, already having seen the world-core fragment Nairo was watching. He let out a sigh after.

However, Yupao looked toward the world-core fragments flying toward the other sorcerer-apprentices and his psychologically finally recovered a little.

This world-core fragment was not small.

Underneath the Ashen Mask, Glenn quietly and unmovingly looked into the distance at the world-core fragments streaking across the sky. His pupils reflected the brilliant rays of light as he did not have expression whatsoever. The other two white-robed sorcerer-apprentices also did not have any peculiar expressions at all because of how large or small the world core was; all of them were very much a stirring appearance.

The world-core fragments slide to the halo atop every single sorcerer-apprentices’ heads.

“No…”

Nairo suddenly cried out. The sound of the cry in this space was very abrupt. She looked at the enormous world-core fragment she originally thought to belong to her as it flew and arrived on top of Glenn’s head that gradually fused and rotated together.

As for herself, only a small medium-sized world-core fragment arrived.

“You!”

Yupao had a dumbfounded expression as he looked at the halo atop Glenn’s head that was the big world-core fragment issuing out a bright luster. He himself merely had the smallest world-core fragment like the other two bright sorcerer-apprentices.

Glenn didn’t pay attention to this senseless affair, to the extent that he didn’t even give these two sorcerer-apprentices a glance.

At this very moment, Glenn was in a mess of information through this world-core fragment’s life root will, soul rushing out from the countless chaotic information.

Several of the most prominent messages were exactly the sorcerer world’s former prosperity, flourishing, powerful and developed self-satisfied conceit. Afterward was countless lives hesitating, being frightened, shuddering. A life’s roar, shout, feel a sense of loss, unwillingness, as well as dream and desire…

…

Finally, in the depths of Glenn’s soul was branded one message for eternity.

“The sorcerer world’s eternal enemy—abyssal civilization!”

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Eighty resplendent rays of light met with eighty sorcerer world law chains and were entwined, pulled into the world core’s interior. It was like a mother lovingly embracing a child that has returned home.

Glenn and all sorcerer-apprentices alike sank and lost themselves into a lethargic sleep in a flash.
