After Peranos and the white-robed sorcerer respectively accepted the agreement, they glanced at one another and changed their secretly relieved expressions to one of “despair” after their show of sorrow passed and “moved” from shock.

After the two people went through that special, emotional exchange, their expressions gradually returned to normal.

The white-robed sorcerer showed hesitation all of a sudden. “Third Senior Brother, Eldest Senior Brother has continued to invite me to become a dean at his sorcerer tower school in these past years. Although I don’t want to go because it’s troublesome, Eldest Senior Brother’s starting terms are really…”

Peranos lifted his eyebrows. He casually swept his gaze across the beautiful and comfortable castle garden in the surroundings, and then sighed. “You decide yourself, okay. Teacher already notified us about the matter concerning the business with that community’s unknown culture in that distant unknown world. If one has not advanced to Stigmata Sorcerer, being able to foster some new blood for the sorcerer world is also good.”

“Yes.”

The white-robed sorcerer nodded as two butterflies chasing each other flew past the two of them.

Suddenly, the white-robed sorcerer appeared to recall something and asked, “Oh, right. You presently serve as a dean of that 12th District Black Isotta School. How was the result of this time’s Holy Tower Tryouts? How many guys got to be reserve demon-hunters?”

Pffft…

Hearing his junior brother’s question, Peranos who just a moment ago had an expression of recollection unexpectedly couldn’t help but involuntarily let out a laugh. He seemed to have thought of something exceedingly funny.

The white-robed sorcerer was puzzled. “What is it?”

“Haha, it’s nothing. This time the Black Isotta School has sixteen students who became reserve demon-hunters and this is the best result since I’ve been a dean at Black Isotta.” Although Peranos said this normally, it could be seen from the depths of his pupils that he was hiding a mirthful expression with great difficulty. This explanation only glossed over certain details and nothing more.

The white-robed sorcerer didn’t take note of Peranos’s unusual reaction. He said in amazement, “So many? The profit of sorcerer essence of holding a post at a school, sure enough, comes quickly. Haa…”

After sighing, the white-robed sorcerer’s lips twitched. “Twenty years ago at the remote waters of the sorcerer continent, I pursued the traces of a dark sorcerer for a full three years. In addition to my disciple Cameron gaining the qualifications for the Bright Guard Regiment, my sorcerer essence earnings are still not even half of yours.”

Shaking his head, the white-robed sorcerer sank momentarily into deep contemplation. It appeared he was considering the matter of assuming the position of a school dean.

Suddenly, the castle entrance was pushed open. A little girl merely half a meter tall with a face chubby with baby fat cheerfully ran out, a multi-colored floral hoop on her head. She held an ornamental magic staff and was dressed in exquisitely decorated sorcerer robes; she was extremely cute.

“Great-grandfather Wutong, daddy is back! Daddy is back!” the little girl exclaimed joyfully as she bounced and skipped.

Oh?

A sound of surprised excitement actually came from Peranos’s mouth. He picked up this chubby and cute little girl in his arms and the little girl wasn’t shy either. Being held by Peranos, she was not uncomfortable whatsoever and merely raised her head to look up at the sky.

The white-robed sorcerer called Wutong also started to lift his gaze upwards as he said to Peranos, “Yes, it’s Cameron returning. That wyvern is one he tamed ten years ago in the subterranean abyss. Its intelligence is considered not bad.”

A shadow was cast down from within the sky.

Peranos gave a mysterious smile and then asked, “It seems that he decided to walk the same path as Quiet Spring. How is it? Has he broken through the wild instinct first layer?”

“Yes, his intuition is quite strong and he made a breakthrough twenty years ago. Naturally, he can’t compare to Quiet Spring,” Wutong responded moodily.

*Fuufuu!*

The shadow in the sky slowly descended. It was a flying creature with a gigantic wingspan of no less than five-to-six meters, its flapping pair of wings giving rise to gale winds.

It possessed immense fleshy wings like a bat’s, and it was similar to a crocodile in having a body covered with hard, cold scales and a thick, solid tail. Two pairs of eagle-like talons could be found on its hind feet and either side of its wings. At the end of a thick and solid neck that was a meter long was a huge mouth parted and showing ferocious carnivorous fangs. Its nostrils emitted a thick, pungent smoke that smelled like sulfur and its eyes actually glowed, pupils resembling a serpent’s and having an icy luster. It appeared to use infrared thermal radiation to view the world in the same way as a snake would.

This was precisely a wyvern of the sorcerer world’s subterranean abyss. It was also a wyvern lianti sorcerer’s “symbiotic insect.”

At that very moment, from the back of this strong, savage and fierce wyvern, a man donned in armor jumped down. He stared at Peranos with slight astonishment for a moment, before seeming to recall something and was shocked. “Master[1] Peranos.”

While speaking, this clearly handsome man faced Peranos while putting to use the standard sorcerer etiquette.

*ROAR!*

Suddenly, that enormous wyvern howled and actually, like an illusion, gradually shrank in size. In only a few breaths of effort, it had already shrunk to the size of a pinkie. Then, with incomparable nimbleness, it climbed up the man’s thigh before arriving on top of his shoulder and then squeezed inside his ear.

As it turned out, wyvern lianti sorcerer’s wyverns actually also had such an ability.

No wonder Glenn had never caught sight of Eldest Apprentice-Sister Quiet Spring’s wyvern in those years—it was actually like this.

“Mm. Haha, not bad! I haven’t seen you in several decades and you’ve become a lot stronger. You even got ahold of an abyss wyvern of subterranean space,” Peranos said with a laugh.

“Daddy…”

Barbara ran into Cameron’s arms and acted like a spoiled child. Cameron faced the two Honorable Sorcerers in embarrassment and nodded before taking the little girl to one side to talk.

“Heh heh. You saw Cameron—it’s impossible for that boy Varro to have a chance of winning. Third Senior Brother, when do you want to weigh in for our bet?” Wutong smiled while taking out the betting contract they had accepted just a moment ago.

“Hm? The bet can be completed at any time! Now is also possible,” Peranos resisted letting slip a strange smile and replied indifferently.

“Haha. Are you saying this as the teacher representing Varro and taking the initiative to admit defeat? Haha, that’s good. After a while, I plan to travel once and conveniently arrive at those plane fish you’re holding…”

“Eh…”

A serious expression was suddenly on Peranos’s face as he grabbed Wutong and pulled him aside, “doubtfully” saying, “Junior Brother, um. I never said I’ll have Varro do battle with your disciple Cameron?”

What?

Wutong froze. Subsequently, he gave a bitter smile, “Old Three Per, but we had an agreement. You take a look at what’s plainly written on this contract: our two newly accepted disciples. What, don’t tell me you dare breach the contract?”

Wutong sneered. His address of Third Elder Brother had immediately changed to Old Three Per.

“Ha. Haha. Hahaha…”

Peranos gave a strange, seemingly twitching smile as he cast out a small ball of light. As soon as this small ball of light touched the ground, it transformed into Glenn in a split second. Then, Peranos restrained his expression and said in a bored manner, “Ahem hem, Little Junior Brother, come and meet my newly accepted disciple from the students seventeen years ago, Glenn.”

“Well met, Sir Wutong,” Glenn somewhat awkwardly conducted the sorcerer etiquette.

“You. You, you…”

Wutong pointed at the halo atop Glenn’s head. Looking at Peranos dumbstruck, he stuttered a good several “You, you, you”s before suddenly shrieking and raging. “Old Three Per, you cheat! You big swindler! You really still are that scoundrel of before—I just knew it! I just knew it! How is it possible for you, this crafty, greedy guts, to return those delicious plane fish to me. You’re clearly eyeing up my seven-flavored fruit trees… ah. Aah! You swindling cheat!”

*Cough cough…*

“Junior Brother Wutong, you need to pay attention to this senior’s manner.” Having said this, Peranos smilingly continued, “Junior Brother, you still might not be aware, I presume. The top sorcerer-apprentice of this time’s Seven Ring Holy Tower’s 11th to 15th districts dark sorcerer factions is precisely this darling disciple of mine. Haha, you tell me. Shouldn’t this senior of yours… show off a bit?”

*Pop…*

The white-robed sorcerer was practically vomiting blood. At the same time, he also pointed at Glenn in shock. “Him? A second Quiet Spring?”

Peranos smugly nodded, showing an expression that was extremely satisfied with Glenn.

However, it was embarrassing for Glenn who was in the middle. To hear the two seniors actually praise him as the second coming of Eldest Apprentice-Sister Quiet Spring made him happy while at the same time he also felt a thread of disappointment at the bottom of his heart.

In these elders’ eyes, the current him… was only a shadow of Eldest Apprentice-Sister, right?

“Oh, it’s Junior Brother Glenn, right? Hello!” Cameron came over while carrying Barbara. He looked at the halo atop Glenn’s head with some amazement, simultaneously puzzled by his master Wutong’s display.

Evidently, he still didn’t know about his teacher’s bet.

However, when Cameron saw Glenn’s eyes behind his Ashen Mask gradually starting to resemble the steady, tranquil, wise and cruel manner of senior sorcerers, he already started to instinctually feel a trace of oppression.

This Glenn was somewhat… frightening!

This junior brother was absolutely a more terrifying student compared to the others he was acquainted with!

Glenn also acted with sorcerer propriety and greeted, “Senior Brother Cameron.”

“Glenn!”

The white-robed sorcerer unexpectedly shouted Glenn’s name. Glenn made haste and went over, bowing and saying with a deep voice, “Sir Wutong.”

“Hmm, we’re all sorcerers so I won’t give you any unnecessary words. This senior only has one request from you and it is exactly that you definitely must not become like your teacher and turn into a foodie!” After Wutong firmly glared at Peranos, he took out a green thread which was approximately thirty-plus meters long and rolled up into a small ball, giving it to Glenn. “This is green boa thread. It isn’t really useful for level two sorcerers with elementally transformed bodies. But for some lianti sorcerers and level one sorcerers, as well as those otherworld creatures, it’s considered to be one of the simplest energy-conserving sealing technique mediums. Naturally, you only need to advance to formal sorcerer before you can use natural energy to control it.”

Glenn took the ball of green boa thread in awe. This item was a genuine sorcery tool used by sorcerers!

As for being a foodie…

According to Glen’s plan, after advancing to a formal sorcerer at Seven Ring Holy Tower, it was quite likely that he would officially turn into a foodie. The purpose of it was to evolve and upgrade his body’s underlying elemental energy resistance.

Of course, sorcerers who were single-mindedly devoted to appreciating culinary delicacies as a way to relax the spirit were a type of sorcerer known as Delicacy Captives. And the counterpart were gourmets. Gourmets are also considered a kind of ougi sorcerer.

Therefore, Glenn was destined to disappoint this “Uncle-Master Wutong.”
