Boom! Woosh!

Following the loud sound of the sea waves surging in a distant location of the whirlpool wall, the female sorcerer guardian stopped moving and several sorcerer-apprentices turned around and cast sidelong glances towards it.

The surrounding black seawater was separated by a mysterious energy field as they watched from the center of the whirlpool. The surrounding seawater just seemed like some kind of black latex gelatin dessert with a type of oppressive feeling of it possibly overflowing in all directions at any time. Simply staring for too long could just warp one’s line of thought because of inertia. A person could just automatically be overcome with the feeling of fear and wanting to escape the center of this whirlpool.

If the giant flying Celestial Cordillera at the center of the whirlpool was akin to a mere fly on top of a plate, then Glenn and these sorcerer-apprentices were just like a granule of sand within a sandbox. Even more significant.

However…

At that very moment, the water wall surrounding the black sea’s whirlpool suddenly exploded with an ear-splitting “rumbling” noise. Just as the few sorcerer-apprentices in the middle of showing a dumbstruck from shock expression, an enormous head similar to a mountain slowly squeezed out from inside the whirlpool’s wall. Countless lengths of seaweed twisted over the black-colored skin. Furthermore, iron anchors from steamships could be looked upon as hanging decorations!

The whole scene seemed as if a meal plate with a fly resting on top also had a spoon appear.

This was…

If Glenn had not become a sorcerer-apprentice previously and saw this kind of scene, he certainly would have mumbled about “giant sea devil king.”

Every single sailor who drifted in the sea for years on end would have their own set of sea monsters and sea devils legends. However, no matter what fantasy a sailor had of unknown ocean lifeforms, the strongest and top oceanic lifeform was the one that was called a moving island. The giant sea devil king.

In the legends, it is said that the giant sea devil king frequently showed its back above sea level when sleeping and steamships sailing long-distances catch sight of the giant sea devil king’s back, often believing it to be an island. And then they drop anchor to rest.

Indeed, by the time when the giant sea devil king woke up, the huge ocean spray from rolling its body easily pulled the tiny steamship next to it to the bottom of the ocean. All the sailors also subsequently disappeared completely, without a single trace whatsoever.

But this was simply the monster from the fantasies of sailors without cognitive knowledge.

Following Glenn’s study in the Black Isotta School of Sorcerers, his scope of knowledge opened up. There were already detailed accounts written in books of those creatures previously within legendary fictional tales. The written accounts used sorcerer knowledge to analyze and explain the characteristic habits and properties as well as historical origins of these creatures.

This seemingly unimportant knowledge was actually the largest harvest apart from sorcery knowledge for sorcerer-apprentices.

It was an analysis primer toward unknown and enigmatic knowledge.

…

Glenn looked toward the mountain-class head slowly extending out from the whirlpool walls. For a moment, he actually felt the Celestial Cordillera to be actually tiny.

“Overlord Eubalaena!” Glenn muttered.

This was one of the living things with the largest build within the sorcerer world. It was the first of the three giant monsters of the seafloor called overlord giant whale and had a reputation known as the life tree of the bottom of the ocean. The ultra-largely built living creature: Overlord Eubalaena!

Moo…

Gradually the overlord eubalaena’s entire head extended out from the black sea whirlpool wall. After producing a sound that repeatedly echoed, it opened its mouth and five tiny black dots flew out.

Whoosh!

The dark unknown depths of the black sea whirlpool. A point of light fiercely shot up toward the five small black dots. This was an oceanic creature standing over an immense hexagonal starfish.

The female sorcerer on top of the flying carpet withdrew her sight. Facing in the direction of the sorcerer-apprentices that still watched the mountainesque head extending from the whirlpool wall in shock she said, “Naturally the Sea King Altar will select the best seafloor warrior. The Sea King Altar acts as one of the sorcerer world’s guardians. It also has the power to share the world-core fragments. “Alright. That being the case, the oceanic race all arrived at the sea king altar. We should be the last back of sorcerer-apprentice for this period. Let’s go down then.”

Regardless of how several of the sorcerer-apprentices reacted, the female sorcerer just suddenly revoked the magic on the flying carpet.

Whoosh!

The female sorcerer and five sorcerer-apprentices fell down into the dark abyss of the whirlpool together.

What?!’

The free-falling Glenn instinctively wanted to use magic to fly. However, Glenn yielded; it was hard to believe at this very moment that his spell actually had no effect whatsoever. He still freely fell in such a way.

Depending on the capability of a lianti sorcerer, he stiffly adjusted to a proper falling posture. Underneath the ashen mask, Glenn looked toward the other sorcerer-apprentices as a whole and hereafter let out a single breath. It seemed that there was some kind of rule change in effect or possibly an advanced sublimation of a sorcerer world rule.

In short, the momentary surrounding’s natural force and the sorcerer world’s natural force normal properties were wholly different.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Matchless darkness.

They freely fell for no less than an hour. Were it not for that female sorcerer guardian’s tall horn-shaped hat having that single point of light on top that acted as a reference, maybe several of the sorcerer-apprentices would have entered the difficult to describe dread of the ruined Tower Ruins’ black mirror.

Many hours of freefall later, Glenn was already beginning to get accustomed to this lack of gravity on his body. A feeling of strong wind blew across his side and golden long hair fluttered in the wind vertically. Outwardly, there seemed to be a bit of “Bionna and Sun Child’s gifts excited to the limit” kind of feeling.

“Yes. We’ll immediately arrive at the rules and regulations space of the world core.” The female sorcerer that was the furthest down suddenly informed them.

Glenn tilted his head downwards and gradually saw a trace of warm luster start to show up in his field of view.

At this moment, Glenn, to his surprise, had a warm and forgiving sensation as if being sent to a mother’s embrace. Even if… Glenn never recalled such a “life form” worthy of respect as a mother within his memories. However, at this moment, Glenn within that warm radiance, really and truly felt that kind of comfort, forgiveness, being cherished, and feeling of care at last.

This kind of feeling that Glenn never got to experience in the past was wonderful!

Glenn’s memories started from that one frigid winter. He only remembered that winter was very cold but Glenn confronted the longing to survive. Glenn became even more unfeeling and staunch compared to the biting cold of winter. Thus, Glenn stepped over the already rigid companion beside him, draping sackcloth over his shoulders and leaving the corner where he took shelter from the wind.

Glenn had never experienced a mother’s selfless care, concern, and forgiveness for himself. As a result, Glenn also never showed weakness and compassion in order to confront survival and death. Glean already became a realist and “numb.” He regarded himself as an outsider at all times and a person that lacked feeling and strove to struggle.

As if this was precisely fate. It was Glenn’s fate.

However, at this very moment this kind of feeling similar to a mother’s warm embrace and forgiveness…

“We’ve arrived.”

After the female sorcerer abruptly muttered deeply, several of the sorcerer-apprentices just felt a very hard something appear beneath their feet. Except for Nairo and Glenn outside, several sorcerer-apprentices without exception reclined on the soft flying carpet.

For a long time of no gravity and freefalling, it indeed made these sorcerer-apprentices have a feeling of no power in their legs in the split second they came in contact with the flying carpet.

As for the reason why Glenn was capable of being alright. One one hand, it was on account of his physique being the top-most reason. On the other hand, Glenn was almost at all times in a guarded state subconsciously. This was caused by Glenn’s memory during the time of his childhood. Inside Glenn’s unconscious mind, he forever held himself as a continuously struggling person.

Yupao who cut a sorry figure stifled a groan as he looked toward Nairo and Glenn. Hastily he stood up and covered up the embarrassment of just a moment ago.

Nairo in the middle of the ball of chains also looked at Glenn. Seeing Glenn simply not looking toward herself and also not minding it too much, she stared at what Glenn was looking toward under their foot. A dazzling fantastical mystical space!

Similar to the sorcerer world’s own light and warmth flowed, shining into every nook of this mystical space. Countless chains transformed from Bright and Dark spilled out from the light source of this space.

The female sorcerer atop the flying carpet closed the magic lantern on top of her tall horned hat. Spreading both arms and showing a happy expression, she quietly said, “These rays of light are the sorcerer world’s source of light! And these chains. They are precisely the rules and regulation’s willpower of the sorcerer world!”

‘Source of Light? Laws’ will?’

It may be assumed that only through these thousands upon thousands, of countless laws’ will chains can the world core’s principal will be transmitted through every nook of the sorcerer world.

So the sorcerer world had its own world laws when it came to its four-season change, night and day cycles, the rise and retreat of the tides—wind and rain, thunder and lightning, landslides and tsunamis!

As for the Source of Light.

After the sorcerer world’s rays of light reached the remote and unknown otherworlds. Could the extremely large light bear the memory of the prosperity and decline of the sorcerer world?

In addition, within that one unknown world, would there also appear a group of small life forms that looked like a “rainbow”[1] that would consume these sorcerer world’s favored gifts from a distant and foreign land?

…

From the distant unknown core of this space, interlocked chains that were suspending between tangible and intangible extended. Above Glenn’s head was a pitch-black whirlpool cavity which neither the Source of Light or law chains could penetrate at all.

And the rock wall around the whirlpool space was pierced through with countless chains, gradually having the wall develop into an illusion.

Some of these law chains were big; some were small.

Every link of the large chains were all several hundred to several thousand meters large. The interlinked chains presented itself as heavily stable and unable to be moved! The small chains just seemed like endless lengths of sparkling and translucent string. So much so that the invisible locked links presented itself as deft, delicate, and exquisite.

The forms of these law chains varied.

The shapes of the chain links appeared to be very distinct rectangles, squares, triangles, or polygons. The shapes were strictly enforced and were not allowed to exceed corners. There are some which were smooth and sleek, without any corners at all. They were like the moonlake’s clear water, with the gentle appearance of a mother nurturing life.

These law chains were a myriad of colors.

Some resembled the azure of the open sky. There were some that resembled the heavy mystery of a dark sorcerer’s black-gray robes instead. Some were like the brightly colored butterflies that fluttered about while others were solely a single color of barren ice.

The implicit charm of these chains was totally different.

Some were mysterious but some were simple. Some were sinister while some others were kindhearted. Some were grim while some others were warm…

…

As everyone felt different as the law chains that seemed corporeal were in fact illusions passed through, there was a loud bang as one surging golden river of light appeared within everyone’s view.

The golden river of light just seemed like the boundless sea. Outwardly it looked as if it was surging up violently and majestically; it was overwhelming. Intrinsically, however, it was replete with hope and showed tolerance for all living things.

This river of light was just like the bright river of stars within the night sky.

It seemed dazzling and right in front of one’s eyes but it actually was like the moon’s reflection in the water, distant in the sky.

“This. This is precisely the destiny lever!” the female sorcerer on top of the flying carpet suddenly solemnly muttered this sentence after turning around to face the five sorcerer-apprentices.
