Chapter 145: Third Du Peak

At the Third Du peak, Glenn landed.

Under his feet was a layer of black soil. This soil had obvious artificial traces. It seemed those hard and matchless peak vein black rocks softened and was made into powder after. Blending certain life elemental energy together with earth element and water element as well, some trace elements mixed into this as a result.

In this way, it could then yield the lush growth of these sorcerer world’s flowers and plants.

Glenn only roughly swept through his temporary residence for the next few months once before silently concentrating on the interior of the flowerbed castle in front of him and walking over.

The interior was simply and elegantly decorated. The wide and bright hall was ten-plus meters high. An immense magic chandelier hung at the center of the hall and a spiral staircase led to the castle’s top-most floor.

“Master, what service do you require?” A mechanized voice from an old butler-shaped mechanical marionette issued out from its body. It had a pair of vivid and realistic eyes.

Glenn stared with slight astonishment, giving this marionette a quick look. And then he looked behind this old butler to several wooden female servant marionettes with blank expressions. He asked, “You are smart marionettes?”

So-called smart marionettes were mechanical sorcerers gathering dark sorcerers’ certain soul technology. It made use of some otherworld subhumans or similar to human life forms’ souls to place into some precious magic conductive material. Once more going through some extremely complex and unusual industrial arts, before manufacturing a marionette that had a regular organism’s line of thought.

Based on some mechanical sorcerer’s theories, from certain respects, this advanced marionette also should be considered to be a type of incomplete life form.

“Yes, that’s right. Master may call me Y3Z3 or you can also call me something else; I will completely comply with your wishes. This seven months’ time period until you depart, I will be in charge of your food and everyday life. I am capable of satisfying your every demand.” the old butler bowed deferentially and said.

It was capable of meeting every demand?

Glenn suddenly said, “In that case, then first take me to the food storage location here to take a look.”

“Ah…” the old butler shook its head. “The food material reserves are all sealed within my body. Although I can’t do anything about bringing you to look, I can provide Master a report.”

‘Ah?’

Glenn stared blankly. Then he managed to react, saying in amazement, “You inherently actually are a space storage magic tool?”

The old butler nodded its head and said, “One can possibly say that.”

Glenn willfully walked from the castle’s second-floor loft toward an even higher level while simultaneously listening to the old butler give an account of his body’s internal storage of edible material and other bits of service functions.

After a little less than half an hour.

Glenn arrived at the castle’s top-most floor. It was a room that was set up to imitate the sorcerer world’s environment with magic lamps taking the place of the sorcerer world’s natural light.

Turning his body, Glenn listened to the end of the old butler’s half an hour long report. Walking to the front of a lit up table and sitting down, he picked up a writing brush. In the middle of deep thinking, he selected very carefully and wrote down some food on the white paper. He said, “Every ten days, rotate it once. Just use this among the food materials to match up dishes.”

The old butler picked up the paper Glenn handed over and looked it over. He responded, “I will meet Master’s wants and follow your instructions.”

“Good.”

After Glenn responded, he also said, “For these next several months, every evening use fifteen minutes to explain to me a bit about the seven ring world’s distribution, geology, as well as any important historical periods you know of. Recent events and trends, and the development of new world wars, rules, and laws. Additionally, this room will be used to conduct my private business. No one will be permitted to come in without my permission.”

“I will comply with your arrangements,” the old butler used a mechanical sort of voice to reply.

Nodding his head, he indicated the old butler to go out. Afterward, the room became quiet.

Glenn stood along and reflected for a while before seeming to get a plan. First was taking off the three heavy moisture armors and ashen mask, subsequently putting on a relaxed sorcerer robe.

After Glenn used magic to open up his space pocket, there was the sharp crash akin to glass shattering. The space pocket inside rustled as a large pile of magic materials fell out.

Taking the useless for the time being materials and putting them in another space pocket to store them in, Glenn experimented on several items still left out.

The first item was precisely that “devil contract” Glenn once cheated and got from that otherworld life form Dark Flame Lord.

It could be said that originally Glenn deceived this devil contract before with the main purpose being the “opening words” of the contract. However, later on, Glenn clearly researched and discovered this contract’s written language was actually also had something fishy to them.

This kind of script seemed like it was some law using the soul-level wave band. Although Glenn never came across this kind of script, it was completely obvious some of the content was strange. It seemed this kind of script was precisely a soul plane complete agreement of some kind of law and birthing a mark. It belonged to the otherworld spirit field’s area of unique civilization.

Previously, Glenn as a sorcerer-apprentice was probably unable to understand this soul knowledge and thoroughly study it. However when Glenn advanced to an official sorcerer later, in the wake of certain fundamental changes to the soul, maybe he could fully grasp this mystery.

The second item was a scroll. It was the knowledge Peranos had passed on to Glenn about the endless eye.

Glenn wanted to refine his own “truth mask.” Again, he would need to go through several decades to strengthen his alchemy skill. If the truth mask’s prototype was the Ashen Mask, Glenn maybe can exploit first-rate alchemic ingredients of other kinds to transform into essence and try to independently refine it.

And when Glenn finishes refining the truth mask prototype, the boundless eye and mystic eye combined into endless eye should follow one after another refined into the mask of truth. And after, Glenn can still add his most easily accessible eagle eye technique and he wanted to use the most conspicuous eye.

If it was the eagle eye technique, this similar to the fireball spell of spells available to the masses, Glenn could easily obtain the corresponding knowledge.

But if it were the microscopic eye that can only be obtained by going to the sky cities for the method of manufacturing microscopes, he would once again need to think of a method to mix it into the mask of truth. Included among these was a possibility of needing to touch upon a bit of mechanical knowledge and it does not need to be said how very long it would take Glenn to achieve the ability needed to realize the microscopic eye’s refinement and fusion.

However…

Should Glenn refine the endless eye into the mask of truth, afterward the rate in which the soul would accept the two broken twig’s constant emitted strange thunder traces would have a possible qualitative change. Perhaps it could take several decades or several centuries to discover some secrets and that also was not certain.

Of course, when he hadn’t advanced to an official sorcerer containing natural force, Glenn absolutely could not try to unduly and thoroughly understand these thunder marks. Otherwise, who could say at what time could a special thunder law fall together and Glenn turned into an explosion.

The third item is those two severed branches. This one he couldn’t say much about.

The fourth item was in fact that ginseng. Already having sunk into a state of hibernation the ginseng breathed and snored. From time to time after treading for a little while, the leg branched. A thread of saliva flowing after, once again the breath that escaped returned. Glenn thought for a bit and ultimately laid it down in a container covered by a dark cloth, letting the container regain its dark state.

The fifth item was a handkerchief. The embroidery on top is a parrot that was remarkably true to life.

Glenn’s face exposed an abundantly interested expression as he held the handkerchief and shook it left and right. However, no matter how or in whatever way Glenn shook the handkerchief, the parrot’s eye from beginning to end gazed at him. It was similar to a bright lamp giving directions in a dark ocean.

To link up dimension intervals?

Glenn suddenly placed the handkerchief flat on the table and took out tweezers and thin needles. He wanted to disassemble the edge of the handkerchief’s thread…

After researching for a good while without any fruit born, Glenn shook his head and placed the handkerchief to one side. Looking toward that bottle of ash-gray top-notch alchemy material changed into essence and the ashen mask knowledge’s illegible notes, Glenn simultaneously felt he found the time to refine half of “Glenn Elemental Major Staff 1.0 Official Version.”

At last, Glenn’s other handwritten notes are placed at the edge of the table, documenting some of Glenn’s research on obliteration.

Time passed.

In this way, Glenn at the celestial mountain range’s third Du Peak silently passed his research on his knowledge and mysteries, seeming to forget time. He forgot the place using his entire focus being completely engrossed in his research. Only the sounds of Yupao and Nairo having a fight in the sky every month reminded Glenn he was at someplace.

Although there is no special meaning to the five peaks of the Celestial Cordillera, the difference in heights distinguished them: Grand Du Peak, Second Du Peak, Third Du Peak, Fourth Du Peak, and Small Du Peak. Additionally, there are the apex sorcerer-apprentices from various districts and factions living there.

As far as some sorcerer-apprentices were concerned, on account of the limited years of experience, fighting over one’s residence position in the mountain range seemed like the dark sorcerer’s top ten experts fighting for their schools’ reputation. Appearing as if it was a symbol of one’s rank and status.

However, these sorcerer-apprentices did not know that the rank and status of the demon-hunting sorcerer were never derived from the battles of the sorcerer world. This was also one of the intrinsic differences between a demon-hunting sorcerer and an ougi sorcerer—even a dark sorcerer.

In addition to the demon-hunting sorcerer’s vision being broader, being capable of looking up to an even higher sky and seeing the vast earth, they understand their insignificant and real place. The so-called title also became a code name.

At this very moment, as far as the apex sorcerer-apprentices were concerned, this seemed to the satisfaction after accomplishing a dream. Carrying on unconstrained and living it up can be considered a part of a sorcerer-apprentice’s time of achievement, showing off their power.

However, regarding other sorcerer-apprentices, they silently longed for the new beginning right in front of them.

This new beginning is a sorcerer’s journey.
