A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 143: Spaceship Factory

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Three sorcerer riders astride brooms flew in the horizon toward them clad in gray robes. Coming to a halt right in front of the snail emissary, they respectfully greeted, “Seven Rings Emissary.”

“Mm.”

After the snail emissary softly acknowledged them, they swept a glance toward the people above the round shell behind it and said, “You will be brought to the highest peak in the sky. Other sorcerer-apprentices will be brought to Seven Rings Tower’s two-hundred-and-forty-ninth floor. To the remaining ougi sorcerers, they will follow me and I will personally be in charge of seeing them to the pioneer castle.”

This “you” naturally referred to Glenn.

“Yes.” One of the three sorcerers flew toward Glenn while the other two flew toward several other sorcerer-apprentices.

Peranos was looking at Glenn when he indifferently said, “Go on. Two-to-three hundred years later, after becoming an official devil-hunting sorcerer, return to Black Isotta to take a look.”

An official sorcerer’s sense of time compared to a sorcerer-apprentice’s were completely different. Two-to-three hundred years as far as sorcerer-apprentices were concerned was perhaps the same as the period of one’s lifetime. However, regarding such an old sorcerer like Peranos, it was nothing more than sending off two or three school student bodies—the same as a sorcerer-apprentice’s concept of two or three compulsory school missions and nothing more.

Glenn became aware, at this moment, that he will officially start the life of becoming a sorcerer.

“I understand,” Glenn’s voice was quite serene. Maybe because for this moment, Glenn waited for too long a time, he was mentally already long prepared and too amply prepared. So much so that he began to try very hard to make himself impassive toward everything a long time ago.

“What a pity your eldest senior sister has a special mission or else I might actually have been able to make some arrangements for your benefit. At the moment, you can only count on yourself. I don’t have much to say with your intelligence; I am sure you ought to be aware of what you will face in your life from here on. If you want to obtain something, you must invest something beforehand. This is one of the most fundamental laws of the endless world. Equilibrium.” After Peranos imparted such meaningful and heartfelt words, the other students were also pretty much-done parting and bidding farewell to their academic advisors. The snail emissary left with these school ougi sorcerers in the midst of the sorcerer-apprentices’ focused attention.

It may be presumed that these sorcerers went to receive the reward for nurturing reserve demon-hunting sorcerers from the Seven Rings Holy Tower.

After two sorcerers riding brooms taking sorcerer-apprentices with dim halos on top of their heads turned toward Glenn and the sorcerer beside him, a gigantic bubble covered several people and rose upwards. They floated toward that indomitable dark-brown Seven Rings Holy Tower which seemed right in front of their eyes but was in reality still extremely far away.

Even though Glenn wasn’t a sorcerer-apprentice that did an in-depth study of mechanics, he was able to easily perceive the Seven Rings Holy Tower was not in the same category.

This type of sensation…

Moving towards the Seven Rings Holy Tower were completed by energy bodies, mechanical things and some dark sorcerers’ lifeforms composed from blood and flesh of beasts.

And at this very moment inside this Seven Rings Holy Tower, a kind of terrifying creature that made the halo on top of Glenn’s head feel amiable in comparison was putting great effort in suppressing its own energy fluctuations.

“Let’s go. I didn’t expect this time to have so much luck and to go as far as to meet an apex sorcerer-apprentice. Which district are you from?” The only remaining sorcerer from the Seven Rings Holy Tower faced Glenn and asked.

After Glenn gave the expected sorcerer courtesy, he replied, “Twelfth District Black Isotta School.”

“Oh? Dark sorcerer faction of the 12th district, huh.” This sorcerer should be a member of the ougi sorcerer clan. Now hearing that Glenn was the apex sorcerer-apprentice churned out from the dark sorcerer faction, they appeared as if it came as no surprise and there was not much else to say.

In a gigantic bubble that looked the same as the other, Glenn and the sorcerer floated toward the direction of the Seven Rings Holy Tower. The speed was very fast and exceeded the velocity of an official sorcerer’s flight.

“What is Celestial Cordillera[1]?” Glenn on one hand delicately sensed the properties of the bubble while, on the other hand, asked the question on his mind.

This bubble apparently really wasn’t a spell utilized by orthodox sorcerers. There was also some living elements among the water element and sorcerer cover’s theory.

In short, this spell could only exist in similar spaces like this Seven Rings Holy Tower or the space with special laws under the life tree defensive cover.

Of course, it could not be ruled out that some sorcerers of the sorcerer world have spells with a similar appearance.

The sorcerer operating the flying bubble indifferently said, “Celestial Cordillera is this Seven Ring World’s guardian. It is one of the special life forms the Seven Rings’ Honorable Necromancer has trained and enjoys the status of a sorcerer world’s stigmata sorcerer inside this space. After five peak sorcerer-apprentices of former years arrive at the Seven Rings World, all will gather in Celestial Cordillera and after stipulated time will proceed together towards the world’s core.”

Seven Rings World? The Guardian?

Glenn was somewhat amazed. Glenn was already somewhat aware of guardians. The life of those small world’s equivalent to a class four sorcerer’s strength can all get the recognition of their world’s original will and then turn into world guardians.

However, obviously, there wasn’t any original will of a world splinter here. But it was actually called Seven Rings World? Even more, it possessed a world guardian?

Could it be that this was…

Was this a “false world original will” the Seven Rings Tower “man-made” and then let this so-called Celestial Cordiller creature become this world’s guardian?

In that case, couldn’t it be said from a certain point of view that this Seven Rings’ Great Necromancer basically smashed the original will of this world?

Judging from this tip-of-the-iceberg knowledge of the system, the ability this Seven Rings’ Great Necromancer was good at was perhaps very much so different than the common elemental sorcerer.

…

Three days later.

Along with being further and further away from the Seven Rings Tower, the other creatures in the dusky sky also became fewer and fewer. Once in a while, something appeared and they were all strange and bizarre organisms shaped like birds.

Rumble! Rumble!

Ahead, in a towering and majestically enormous structure similar to a primitive volcano, following a loud sound, the “volcanic crater gate” unexpectedly slowly opened. And then, subsequently, a three-hundred or more meters-long shark-shaped spaceship slowly floated upwards, its thick metal emitting remote cold rays of light.

This was…

“Yes, this is a location of the Seven Rings World where spaceships are manufactured in a factory. Of course, for the most part, the mechanical sorcerers inside were all from a hired contract with Sky Holy Tower and very few of our local mechanical sorcerers of Seven Rings Holy Tower.” After the sorcerer explained, they controlled the bubble to rotate this spaceship that was continuously rising.

A spaceship manufacturing factory?

This once, Glenn eventually was able to observe close range a spaceship that was called by the sorcerer world as the mechanical sorcerers’ three great specialties.

Mechanical sorcerers’ three great specialties were individually the mechanical marionette, that mechanical armor core, and the spaceship.

Only seeing the very large mouth of that one that was similar to a shark seemed like it led to the dark space of hell and caused apprehensive fear to linger on. And it was like an unknown creature from the deep sea’s gigantic bloody mouth, having chosen a person and devoured them.

This was precisely the main cannon of the spaceship. It was a gigantic super-magic disintegrating cannon that had a reputation of being able to threaten stigmata sorcerer level living organisms.

Apart from this, all around the spaceship, there was also two mechanical telescoping arms and four auxiliary cannons, having considerable deterrent force. Perhaps just this spaceship was already sufficient to make quite a lot of relatively weak grade-three life forms despair because of it.

Afterward, when those low-level bright sorcerers coordinate to drive these spaceships, it’s no wonder that corps combat can completely replace the dark sorcerers that preferred to go with individual strength.

In the wake of the bubble gradually flying away, that spaceship manufacturing factory that was like a volcano disappeared from Glenn’s field of view.

Glenn suddenly thought of something. Facing the sorcerer that was driving the bubble, he consulted, “In that case, the space stronghold manufacturing factory of the Seven Rings World…”

“You think too much.”

The sorcerer shot a glance toward Glenn. They shook their head and said, “Nowadays in the sorcerer world, only sky cities possess the techniques to make space strongholds. All holy tower’s space strongholds were all from placing an order with the city in the sky, that’s all.”

By placing an order of a space stronghold from the Sky City?

It was not surprising that during the time he passed through the layer of nothingness before the heavenly water screen, he properly saw a blood-colored moon from a distant location approach. As it turned out it was slowly flying over from the Sky City. For those stigmata sorcerers that wanted to conquer and enslave an otherworld, the most fundamental investment was exactly one space stronghold perpetually stationed there. As for the value of purchasing a space stronghold, it was not something Glenn was capable of guessing.

On the surface, some level ground gradually started to appear. It was like some giant resolutely used brute force to push level mountains and rivers, filling the gap of a ravine and―with utmost care―grew an area with verdant and lush sorcerer world vegetation.

In the middle of the forest, a river crossed, some small creatures therein scuttled away, leaving behind a few traces of their presence.

…

Five days later.

Five conjoined mountain peaks hovering at a high altitude appeared in Glenn’s vision. The sorcerer inside the bubble raised their head and looked up, “This is just that Celestial Cordiller.”

Glenn mimicked them and also looked up. This drifting black group of mountain peaks actually was flat at the bottom, appearing a somewhat baffling oval. The longest diameter was probably more than 1500 meters in appearance with a width of six-to-seven hundred meters. As for this gigantic black mountain’s height, it was probably seven-to-eight hundred meters tall.

The entire mountain range, even if it was not regarded as grand, was still capable of drifting in the sky, contrary to what one might expect, and was quite miraculous.

‘That’s right!’

Glenn abruptly recalled something. ‘Several days ago, didn’t this sorcerer say…’

Boom! Boom!

All of a sudden, the black peaks with verdant and lush green plants growing all over it had a burst of the sound of rock friction transmit outwards from underneath it. Glenn just stared blankly, watching attentively as a black-colored head that seemed like an ancient solid rock from deep in the mountains slowly stretched out from the bottom of the peaks. After the head unhurriedly opened its black rock eyelids, a muddy and dusky gaze cast itself toward Glenn located atop the bubble.

The immense eye was practically even larger than the bubble Glenn was at.

“Sir Celestial Cordillera, he’s one of this time’s apex sorcerer-apprentices. I respectfully present the seven ring emissary’s order to deliver him here,” the sorcerer shouted loudly from inside the bubble.

RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

The Celestial Cordiller’s head once again withdrew toward its body. A muffled voice came through, “Got it.”

Glenn, with the indication of the sorcerer beside him, left the bubble and flew toward the mountain peak of the Celestial Cordillera. At the same time, from the bottom of his heart, he inwardly mumbled, “The so-called Celestial Cordillera is actually a gigantic rock tortoise creature? The size of this creature… no wonder…”
