Chapter 136: Chapter 135: One Punch Defeats Mysterious Profundity

The atmosphere at the auction once again stilled.

Downstairs, no guests dared to speak, awaiting the decision from the Family Master Guu in the upper level VIP seats.

The auctioneer did not talk more just because he had to wait longer.

The last item, the Starlight Stone, was a great treasure, and naturally could not be finalized with just three knocks of the hammer, but rather had to wait until there were no further bids.

Family Master Guu was indeed contemplating.

To place a bid, one must have Silver Tael.

Perfect Elixirs, as a hard currency, could directly substitute for Silver Tael.

However, Cultivation Techniques, Martial Techniques, and Spiritual Artifacts needed to be sold for Silver Tael first before one could continue to bid.

If he really could win the Starlight Stone, the Guu Family could naturally spare no expense.

But, if in the end he failed to acquire the Starlight Stone, and his family’s foundation was sold off, that would be problematic.

A family, once its foundation is gone, is not far from extinction.

As a family head, he dared not take the risk lightly.

Most importantly, he could not be sure how many Perfect Elixirs Yi Xiao actually had.

Moreover, even in terms of treasures, his alliance of the Guu and Zhong families might still not match up to the Bai Family.

After all, the Bai Family had a Mystic Breakthrough Realm Warrior, their foundation was incomparable to those families that only had warriors of the Mysterious Profundity Ninth Layer.

Ten minutes later, the fists of Family Master Guu cracked loudly, but in the end, he loosened his grip and said with an ugly expression, ”The Guu Family gives up the bidding.”

The auctioneer nodded, the Wang Family had long given up bidding as well, thus, no one else was competing with the Bai Family.

”The Starlight Stone, obtained by the Bai Family for 5.3 million taels,” the auctioneer announced loudly.

The auction staff brought over the Starlight Stone, and the Bai Family Master paid 4.5 million taels, adding in 100 Perfect Life Spirit Pills and 100 Perfect Giant Power Pills from Xiao Yi, thus completing the transaction.

...

The auction, which lasted several hours, ended in this continuously climactic sequence.

Those who got the treasures they wanted were naturally joyful; those who didn’t could only blame their lack of money, while also considering the experience as eye-opening.

In general, this auction could be considered a perfectly satisfying conclusion.

...

Outside the auction, the guests gradually left.

Bai Family Master walked shoulder to shoulder with Xiao Yi.

Following them was Housekeeper Bai and a group of Bai Family warriors.

At this moment, Housekeeper Bai looked at Xiao Yi not as a youth, but as someone on the same level as himself.

He could hardly believe that the boy he had thought to expel from the Bai Family a few months ago was now walking alongside the family head.

”Little Brother Yi Xiao, thanks to your help, I was able to obtain the Starlight Stone, and now I owe you another favor,” said Bai Family Master, then asked with interest, ”But seriously, are you really that powerful, able to produce thousands of third-grade perfect elixirs just like that?”

Xiao Yi shrugged and chuckled, ”Just bluffing. Thousands of elixirs, let alone perfect ones, even inferior ones would take years to refine; how could I possibly have so many?”

”Only a fool would believe me.”

Xiao Yi didn’t disguise his tone at all.

As these words came out, the guests who were following and leaving were taken aback, then made strange faces.

Because Family Master Guu, along with Zhong Family Master, were nearby too and heard Xiao Yi’s words.

”Crack-crack,” the sound of violently clenched fists rang out, and Family Master Guu’s eyes flared with a murderous gaze, staring tightly at Xiao Yi.

”Purple Flame, my Guu Family has no grudge against you, why target me?” Family Master Guu asked coldly.

Xiao Yi replied indifferently, ”How is it targeting? I am acquainted with Bai Family Master, helping him is opposing you?”

Bai Family Master, his aura swelling, pressed fiercely forward, ”Family Master Guu, it’s best you keep your murderous intent to yourself. Young Brother Yi Xiao is a friend of the Bai Family.”

The people from the Guu and Zhong families, overwhelmed by the pressure, nearly unable to breathe, then suddenly remembered the man before them was a Mystic Breakthrough Realm Warrior who could kill them effortlessly.

Moreover, with Bai Family Master acquiring the Starlight Stone, he would soon have a High Grade Spiritual Artifact.

The Bai Family would soon ascend to become one of the top powers in Northern Mountain County, far beyond their reach to provoke.

”Family Master Bai, please calm down, my words just now were nonsensical, please pay it no mind,” Family Master Guu immediately lowered his stance.

”Hmph,” Bai Family Master snorted coldly, withdrew his aura and left with Xiao Yi.

The onlookers stared blankly, and most of their gazes fixated on the back of Xiao Yi.

They knew, from today on, Purple Flame Yi Xiao would not only be a famous super genius but also a figure who could not be trifled with in a dozen cities around Baiwu City.

Because he was a friend of the Bai Family.

...

In fact, Xiao Yi really didn’t have that many elixirs.

Since leaving the Xiao Family, the most he had acquired, apart from Silver Tael, were Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures.

These were the gifts from the Xiao Family Elders and from the Cave Mansion of the Bloodthirsty Profound Monarch.

Also from killing the bandit leaders and the four assassins and the treasures found in their Qiankun Bags.

Although there weren’t any extremely rare and precious Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, he had amassed a substantial quantity of ordinary ones.

These materials, he nearly always refined into elixirs as soon as he acquired some.

After all, back then, he needed to consult the Great Elder Xiao Lihuo’s refining medicine experience, while simultaneously practicing as he learned.

Why he knew early on that perfect elixirs of third-grade and above could serve as hard currency was because he had sold them before, specifically to the Demon Hunting Hall.

To be precise, they were bought by them.

Demon Hunting Hall was continually buying these elixirs; of course, they only paid money, no Task Points involved.

His two hundred thousand-plus taels, apart from those obtained from eradicating bandit hideouts, many were from selling these elixirs to the Demon Hunting Hall.

Later, after robbing the goods from the deal between the Northern Mountain Murong Family and Shadow Tower, he obtained a large batch of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures.

The 100 Life Spirit Pills and Giant Strength Pills were made from these materials.

Of course, he still had many Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures that he hadn’t had time to refine.

After joining the Sky-splitting Sword Sect, he spent all his time on his cultivation and had no opportunity to refine medicines.

As for today, his willingness to help the Bai Family Master

was not because of Guu Changfeng and Guu Changkong.

The grudges between martial artists had nothing to do with family and friends. Xiao Yi disdained the petty acts of taking revenge against the Guu Family.

It was only because he had a certain friendship with the Bai Family Master; and during the previous auction of the Eight Treasures Exquisite Ginseng, the people from the Guu Family had been too overbearing, which greatly displeased him.

That was why he had helped the Bai Family today.

Returning to the main story.

At this moment, as Xiao Yi and the people of the Bai Family were about to leave,

a group of martial artists wearing uniforms blocked their path.

The style of these uniforms clearly marked them as members of the Shengbao Trading House Guard Team, all of them Innate Ninth Layer Martial Artists.

Leading them were Murong Sha and Murong Yin.

”purple Flame Yi Xiao, you finally show yourself?” Murong Yin said coldly.

”Did you think you could come to this auction and leave without our noticing?

Previously, we didn’t touch you because you were here as a guest; now that the auction is over, you are an enemy.”

Murong Sha too spoke coldly, ”Be sensible and return the goods, or don’t blame us for not being polite.”

After Murong Sha spoke, two strong men blocked the path, one on each side.

These two were the Mysterious Profundity Realm Warriors who were responsible for guarding the display stand during the auction.

They were warriors from the Shengbao Trading House themselves.

That is to say, Murong Sha, Murong Yin, two strong men, four major Mysterious Profundity Realm Warriors, had surrounded them from all directions.

”How dare you!” Housekeeper Bai shouted coldly, ”Do you dare to obstruct the path of the Bai Family?”

Murong Sha took a step forward, ”Family Master Bai, Housekeeper Bai, Shengbao Trading House means no harm to you. You can leave freely; we will not stop you.”

”But Purple Flame Yi Xiao cannot possibly leave.”

”Oh?” The Bai Family Master scoffed coldly, ”Do you several people really think you can abduct someone from under my watch?”

With a strong tone, Murong Sha declared, ”Our rank as Mysterious Profundity Realm cannot compare to you, Family Master Bai, who is in the Mystic Breakthrough Realm, in abducting someone.”

”But this Yi Xiao is a wanted person by our Shengbao Trading House. If Family Master Bai protects this man, it is the same as making an enemy out of the Northern Mountain Murong Family. I don’t think I need to explain further to Family Master Bai.”

”Are you threatening me?” Family Master Bai said coldly, ready to strike.

”Wait.” Xiao Yi stepped forward and stopped Family Master Bai, ”Family Master Bai’s kind intentions are appreciated by me. I can handle this matter myself.”

After speaking, Xiao Yi turned to Murong Sha, ”I wonder what Murong Sha, the Deacon, wants me to hand over?”

”Still playing dumb?” Murong Sha said coldly, ”Do you dare to say you weren’t the one who robbed our trade with Shadow Tower a few months ago?”

”Where’s the evidence?” Xiao Yi countered.

”Still making excuses,” Murong Sha shouted angrily, ”Within the area of ten cities in Baiwu City, who doesn’t know you were the culprit.”

”Oh, really? Who can prove it? Why not have the deacon or guard who transported the goods come forward and confront me directly?” Xiao Yi sneered.

”Nonsense,” Murong Sha erupted, ”You killed those people; how could they confront you?”

Xiao Yi sneered, ”That means there are no witnesses, no physical evidence, no evidence at all.”

”Hmph,” Murong Sha snorted coldly, ”Young Master Wuyou saw with his own eyes, that’s ironclad evidence.”

”Good then,” Xiao Yi said nonchalantly, ”let Young Master Wuyou come and confront me.”

”How dare you,” Murong Sha couldn’t restrain his anger, ”How could we possibly request Young Master Wuyou at your whim? You are just stirring trouble to escape your guilt.”

”After all is said and done, you have no evidence to prove it was me,” Xiao Yi’s voice gradually turned icy.

”Since there’s no evidence, but you still insist on holding me, don’t blame me for not being polite,” Xiao Yi suddenly smiled.

His making excuses wasn’t out of fear for Murong Sha and the others but merely looking for an excuse to strike.

Originally, if Murong Sha hadn’t targeted the Xiao Family in Purple Cloud City, Xiao Yi would never have decided to rob their goods looking for trouble.

Murong Sha dared to target the Xiao Family, Xiao Yi was prepared to confront him at all costs.

”Threats?” Murong Sha scoffed, ”I would like to see how you are not ’polite.’”

As he spoke, Murong Sha waved his hand grandly and shouted, ”Capture Yi Xiao immediately, kill on resistance.”

The entire team of Shengbao Trading House guards acted instantly.

The Bai Family Master’s face turned angry, and he was just about to help Xiao Yi, but Xiao Yi stopped him with a look.

Xiao Yi’s gaze told him, he was confident in handling this, and he needn’t intervene.

”Hmph,” at the same time, people from the Guu Family and Zhong Family, watching smugly, whispered, ”Purple Flame, even with the protection of the Bai Family, offending the Northern Mountain Murong Family, you still face a dead end.”

But, their smug thoughts did not last long.

Because, with a bang, an overwhelming purple flame surged out.

The dozen Shengbao Trading House guards were instantly struck and fell back, coughing up blood.

Then Yi Xiao quickly took action, charging towards Murong Sha.

”Well met,” Murong Sha exclaimed, his presence intimidating.

However, the next second,

another bang echoed.

Under the incredulous gazes of everyone, Murong Sha was sent flying by a punch from Xiao Yi, spitting fresh blood.
