Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 104: Chapter 103: Joining Forces

”Such fast speed,” Hu Hai exclaimed as he was startled.

When he felt the icy sensation on his neck, his face showed even more panic.

”You... you... boy, if you know what’s good for you, put down your sword. Otherwise, with one command from me, these dozens of Martial Artists will be enough to kill you,” Hu Hai threatened.

Xiao Yi sneered coldly, slightly moving the sword in his hand across Hu Hai’s neck, immediately drawing a line of blood.

”Why don’t you tell me how you’ll kill me?”

With just a slight motion, Xiao Yi’s Purple Cloud Iron Sword could end Hu Hai’s life.

Feeling the pain in his neck, Hu Hai cried out in terror, ”Don’t... don’t kill me. If it comes to it, I don’t need your points, just let me go.”

At that moment, the dozens of Martial Artists who had been attacking Lin Jin and Tie Niu saw Hu Hai in danger and immediately stopped their attacks, gathering around Xiao Yi and Hu Hai.

Lin Jin and Tie Niu took a breath and asked the woman, ”Yanran, do you know this young man?”

The woman shook her head.

On the other side, Xiao Yi held Hu Hai at sword-point, mocking, ”Oh? According to you, I should let you go and even thank you for not killing me?”

As he spoke, the Purple Cloud Iron Sword again drew a line of blood on Hu Hai’s neck.

Hu Hai winced from the pain, continuously saying, ”I dare not, I dare not, it’s just...”

”Quit the nonsense,” Xiao Yi said coldly. ”I was finally getting some sleep and you shook me off with a slap...”

Hu Hai interrupted, ”That slap wasn’t meant for you.”

”What?” Xiao Yi said coldly. ”Are you suggesting that I, as a capable man, should argue with a frail woman? Are you looking down on me?”

”No, no,” Hu Hai replied.

The once arrogant Hu Hai now had a mournful expression.

”Hmph, I thought you wouldn’t dare,” Xiao Yi coldly threatened. ”Hand over the points from your Token, and we’ll call it even. Otherwise, I’d like to see how many times your neck can withstand my sword.”

”Points?” Hu Hai’s face changed color, saying, ”Impossible. Boy, don’t threaten me. Do you know who I am? I am under the command of Young Master Changfeng, you...”

Xiao Yi wasted no more words. With a hiss, another slash marked Hu Hai’s neck.

Hiss, another mark.

Hiss... Hiss... Hiss...

Seconds later, fresh blood dyed Hu Hai’s entire neck.

”Stop scratching, I’ll give you the points,” Hu Hai pleaded continuously, with no doubt that if he talked back again, the young man would kill him.

Hu Hai then took out his Token, handing it to Xiao Yi; it had the number 80 on it.

Xiao Yi also took out his original Token, which had the number 1 on it.

The two Tokens overlapped, and a surge of air stirred.

Then, Xiao Yi’s Token turned into 81, while Hu Hai’s turned to 0.

”If only you had done this earlier, you wouldn’t have suffered,” Xiao Yi said coolly with a slight smile. He returned the Token to Hu Hai and then sheathed his sword and left.

Once out of danger, Hu Hai immediately retreated back to the group of Martial Artists, speaking fiercely, ”Don’t let that kid escape; he’s stolen a total of 80 points from us.”

The group of dozens of Martial Artists immediately swarmed forward, their faces fierce, ”Daring to steal our points, he’s really courting death.”

”Courting death,” Xiao Yi’s expression turned cold as he swung his Purple Cloud Iron Sword, creating motions of sword flowers.

Sword Gangs appeared out of nowhere.

It was the Breeze Sword Gang.

He had come to the Sky-splitting Sword Sect to learn swordsmanship and thus used the Breeze Sword Gang.

Compared to the Fire Control Beast Martial Soul, even if it advanced to green, it was still far inferior to the Ice Phoenix Sword Soul, which was his strongest card.

Undoubtedly, swordsmanship and Sword Skills were what could truly enhance his strength.

Moreover, his Purple Flame and Fire Attribute Martial Technique were hallmarks of Yi Xiao, not to be used lightly to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Moreover, although he only had the Innate Third Layer Cultivation, even relying on just True Qi, his combat power was on par with the Innate Sixth Layer.

With the Middle Xuan Rank swordsmanship, Breeze Sword Gang, dealing with this group was easy.

Simultaneously, seeing Xiao Yi being surrounded, Lin Jin and the others immediately said, ”Quick, go help him.”

The three acted instantly, coming to Xiao Yi’s side, fighting the enemy together.

”Fierce Blade Slash,” Lin Jin declared loudly as a huge blade cleaved down, instantly killing several men.

”Earth-shattering,” Tie Niu, with his burly body, picked up several men, exerting great strength, pressed them to the ground with a fierce pound.

The ground shook and cracked, burying those men in the soil, with no more breath coming out.

”Thousand Threads of Willow Catkins,” the woman also lightly shouted, a green light flashed, and a thousand willow catkins appeared out of nowhere, binding a dozen people.

Though it couldn’t kill these dozen people, it made them immobile.

At that moment, Xiao Yi slashed with the Breeze Sword Gang, ending their lives.

Lin Jin and his two companions were originally strong, only previously outnumbered, had they fallen into a disadvantageous position.

With Xiao Yi sharing the burden, the trio’s combat power was fully displayed.

In just a few minutes, the dozens of Martial Artists who were extremely fierce all died, leaving only Hu Hai.

Xiao Yi thrust his sword forward.

Lin Jin immediately shouted, ”Young brother, don’t kill him.”

However, it was too late; Xiao Yi’s sword had already pierced through Hu Hai’s throat.

Xiao Yi frowned, pushed away Hu Hai’s corpse, and said, ”Such a villain deserves death, better to get rid of future troubles. I see his words reveal a malicious heart.”

”Sigh,” Lin Jin sighed.

Then, the three of them came to Xiao Yi, cupping their hands and saying, ”Thank you for saving our lives just now.”

”It’s nothing,” Xiao Yi waved his hand and turned to leave.

”Wait,” Lin Jin called out to Xiao Yi.

”Do you need something?” Xiao Yi slightly turned his head.

”Are you just going to leave like this?” Lin Jin asked puzzledly, ”Won’t you consider joining us? Together, we can be safer and score more points.”

”There’s no need,” Xiao Yi said indifferently, ”I prefer to rely on my own strength to pass the assessment.”

Lin Jin advised, ”Brother, from these recent days, the forest is full of dangers. Each Martial Artist who is alone has suffered greatly, having their points stolen by others who teamed up.”

”It’s quite dangerous for you to act alone.”

”Oh?” Xiao Yi was astonished, saying, ”Wait, have many people teamed up?”

”Uh?” Now it was Lin Jin’s turn to be taken aback. ”Don’t you know, brother? Almost ninety percent or more of the Martial Artists have formed alliances.”

”Is that so?” Xiao Yi looked puzzled.

Next to him, Tie Niu buzzed, ”Brother, what have you been doing these days? Everyone knows about this.”

”Uh,” Xiao Yi’s face turned slightly embarrassed.

The woman, as if remembering something, covered her mouth and laughed, ”You wouldn’t have been sleeping these past few days, right?”

Xiao Yi pursed his lips and remained silent.

Seeing this, Lin Jin explained, ”In this assessment, besides the top five hundred passing, the top ten also receive extra rewards, the higher the rank, the better the rewards.”

”Some fellows, to ensure they can receive these rewards, have gathered a large number of Martial Artists to serve them, crazily plundering other Martial Artists’ points to make sure their own points are high enough.”

”Like Young Master Changfeng, he is already a renowned genius within the top twenty of the Northern Mountain Ranking. With his fame and strength, he has hundreds of Martial Artists serving under him, and his points are skyrocketing every day.”

Xiao Yi immediately understood upon hearing this.

This assessment wasn’t about just one person passing, but the top five hundred.

For some weaker Martial Artists who weren’t absolutely confident, teaming up or finding a strong backer was the best choice.

They didn’t aim for the top ten rewards, just to pass.

With Young Master Changfeng or other famous Martial Artists leading, they would immediately join forces.

As long as they plundered all the points from other participants in the assessment, even if they only had one or two points, it would be enough to pass the assessment.

Lin Jin continued, ”Currently in the forest, there are more than ten such groups.”

”Many Martial Artists traveling alone have suffered greatly and, in desperation, have had to team up during being hunted by these groups.”

In fact, the battles in the forest had suddenly become fierce in the past few days due to these groups’ frantic attacks on individual Martial Artists.

”Like us three, we met and temporarily teamed up while being pursued yesterday. We earn our points by our own strength, and whoever defeats an enemy claims their points.”

”How about it, brother, for safety’s sake, why don’t you join us?” Lin Jin earnestly said.

The young woman also spoke softly, ”Brother, let’s be together. Those groups are very aggressive, often killing people; it’s very dangerous for you to act alone.”

”Dangerous?” Xiao Yi smiled faintly and said, ”Well, since staying in the forest for a month is boring anyway, let’s be together.”

Lin Jin and his two companions were immediately delighted; they were all proud and disdainful of joining those groups, wanting to pass the assessment on their own, yet not wanting to be taken advantage of by those groups, so they could only temporarily ally.

Now, with Xiao Yi, a powerful combatant added, their safety greatly increased.

Lin Jin said, ”Brother, we three only met yesterday and don’t know much about each other. Let’s take this opportunity to introduce ourselves again.”

”I’ll start,” Lin Jin said, ”My name is Lin Jin, 18 years old, with Innate Seventh Layer cultivation, green Martial Soul, Xuantie Heavy Blade.”

Tie Niu said, ”My name is Tie Niu, 18 years old, with Innate Sixth Layer cultivation, green Martial Soul, Earth-shattering Divine Bull.”

The young woman said, ”My name is Liu Yanran, 16 years old, Innate Sixth Layer, green Martial Soul, Mist Rain Green Willow.”

The three looked towards Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi said indifferently, ”Xiao Yi, 16, Innate Third Layer. As for my Martial Soul, I’ll tell you next time.”

”Ah? You’re cheating,” the three showed disappointed expressions.

Just at this moment, a burst of intense fighting sounds came from afar.

Judging by the sound, there were at least a hundred people fighting.
