Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Chapter 889: Chapter 231: Chen 94 How Dare He! _4

Jie heard and said: ”Where is this?”

Zhao Ya said: ”No need to look, if Master He wants to hide, no one can find him.”

Chen Jie stopped talking, then saw a long convoy approaching in the distance.

And at that moment, within the convoy, a group of people carrying torches and driving a bullock cart appeared, with a group of escorts in front of the cart.

”Second Master, after passing Woniugang, we’ll reach Huangshui River, where our ships are waiting.”

Upon hearing this, a middle-aged man at the forefront said: ”Hmm, everyone stay vigilant, once this batch of grain leaves Huangzhou Prefecture, each person will receive three taels of reward silver.”

”Oh, thank you, Second Master.”

Everyone shouted their thanks to Second Master.

At this moment, Second Master sat on the cart, gazing straight ahead. This Second Master was none other than the Vice Guild Leader of the local Fishing Guild.

He was also the younger brother of River Barrier Tiger, Zhou Feng, named Zhou Chuan.

Zhou Chuan was a Martial Arts Master as well, having been in the Holding Core Realm for many years, an experienced Holding Core Master.

This time, they took on a large transport task, due to the large volume of goods, he personally came to escort it.

Beside him was his deputy, who whispered to Zhou Chuan: ”Second Master, once this job ends, you should advise the Gang Leader. Our Guild Cao is in disarray now, each county’s Branch Leader claims the title of Gang Leader, we should have listened to the Young Master’s orders long ago, reclaim these Branch Leaders, strengthen our Fishing Guild.”

Zhou Chuan heard this and looked at the man: ”Reclaiming these branches is easy, the challenge is how to prevent repression from the court.”

”Second Master, if it doesn’t work we can learn from Hongjian Sect and rely on the court, why should we end up like this?”

Zhou Chuan said: ”Haha, relying on the court? The Gang Leader won’t do it. Back then, the Old Guild Leader resisted the court, which led to his assassination, his head hung on Huangzhou Prefecture’s city wall for three days.”

”The Old Guild Leader’s kindness to my brother was profound, my brother vowed never to rely on the court, allowing the Fishing Guild disciples to develop freely.”

”Otherwise, with just the Energy Transformation or Holding Core strength of those county Fishing Guild Leaders, they dared to dominate, we would have subdued them long ago.”

”If we subdue them, the court will surely target us, we can’t match the court, nor betray the Old Guild Leader, leading to the current situation.”

”A scattered sandpile.”

Zhou Chuan lamented, hearing this, the deputy said: ”Second Master, the Old Guild Leader’s time was decades ago, we can’t stick to dead rules!”

”If this continues, our Fishing Guild will truly become a second-rate guild.”

Zhou Chuan heard this and looked at the deputy: ”So what do you propose?”

The deputy said: ”The Young Master intends to reorganize the Fishing Guild, Second Master, should we offer some support?”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chuan looked at the deputy: ”Haha, if I didn’t intend to help him, you all approached him anyway, do you think I can tolerate you?”

The deputy immediately clasped his hands and said: ”Thank you, Second Master, for granting me this.”

Zhou Chuan said: ”Hmm, Ah Yu’s plan to reorganize the Fishing Guild is good, but it’s not simple. I hear there’s someone formidable in the Fishing Guild, named Chen Jiusi.”

The deputy replied: ”Yes, it’s Chen Jiusi.”

”A formidable character, the Young Master’s assassin sent last time was killed by him.”

”Assassin?”

Zhou Chuan was surprised, looking at the deputy.

The deputy said: ”Yes, on their recent celebration, the Young Master sent an assassin there, and Chen Jiusi handled it on the spot.”

Zhou Chuan asked: ”Why did you want to kill Chen Jiusi?”

The Young Master said: ”This person is heroic, unwilling to be subordinate, since we cannot tame him as a dog, we must kill him to prevent future troubles.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Chuan looked at the deputy: ”Why didn’t you inform the Gang Leader?”

The deputy said: ”Such a trivial matter, why tell the Gang Leader?”

Zhou Chuan said: ”Trivial matters, don’t you know Chen Jiusi is involved with the Princess Ruyang, if he finds out you attempted to assassinate him, he’ll definitely retaliate.”

”Our Fishing Guild is already precarious, if we provoke the court’s princess too, wouldn’t it be disastrous?”

”Haha, Second Master, we won’t say, how could they know? Rest assured, he won’t be able to trace it back to us.”

The deputy was confident, believing his actions were well-hidden.

Zhou Chuan said: ”Be cautious in all actions. Ah Yu’s work is rash; unlike my brother, he lacks steadiness. People like Chen Jiusi aren’t easy to provoke, if you fail to hit, you’ll surely face retaliation!”

”No way, Second Master, you’re too cautious, Chen Jiusi is just a small-town figure, how could he find us?”

”Never underestimate others.”

”Haha, Second Master, how about we make a bet? If he really finds us, I...”

”What will you do?”

Zhou Chuan looked at the deputy, who said: ”I’ll kneel and kowtow ten times to Second Master, admitting I’m wrong.”

...

”Hey, stop!”

As the deputy and Zhou Chuan chatted casually, suddenly they heard a loud shout.

Then they saw a big tree in front of them crash down with a rustle, followed by several people jumping down nearby.

A thief?

Witnessing this, Zhou Chuan and the others were taken aback; in Huangzhou Prefecture, few dared to hijack their Fishing Guild cargo.

Seeing this, Zhou Chuan stood up: ”Who’s blocking the way ahead, today Fishing Guild is transporting goods, perhaps give us convenience.”

Upon hearing this, a stern shout replied: ”Blind fools, Jianghu Chief of Hubei Road, Princess Ruyang is here, won’t you dismount for inspection?”
