Pfft...

Blood spurted directly from his mouth, as his entire body was flung away by the palm power.

Tap, tap...

He was cunning; utilizing the force of the palm power that sent him flying back, he landed directly onto a wall, trying to escape by climbing over it.

But just as he was about to climb over the wall, his eyes suddenly widened because Chen Jie had somehow already reached the top of the wall.

Another palm strike was aimed at him.

Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms—Dragon Fighting in the Wilderness.

Roar, roar...

Powerful palm force burst forth directly through the air, pressing the assassin down without him being able to move before it even struck him.

The assassin was thoroughly enraged, roaring as he delivered a palm strike towards Chen Jie.

But his forte was never in hand techniques but rather in speed, fast sword, and agility.

However, he ran into Chen Jie, whose Thunderbolt Step was not known for agility but in terms of speed, feared no one.

Spring thunder rumbles, reaching in an instant, and besides, Chen Jie’s Chang Chun Skill was an endurance-based cultivation technique that greatly reduced his expenditure, allowing him to travel using the overly demanding Thunderbolt Step.

Thus, the assassin’s initial intelligence was wrong.

He only assumed that Chen Jie was a cultivator who had just entered the Holding Core Realm and knew the Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms.

Unexpectedly, Chen Jie had hidden something big; he wasn’t some fledgling who had just entered the Qi Blood Holding Core Realm.

He was a sly old fox who had hidden the super divine technique, Chang Chun Skill.

At this point, the assassin was caught in a dilemma.

Had the intelligence been accurate, even if he couldn’t kill Chen Jie, he could surely escape safely and look for another opportunity to attempt assassination.

But now, with the flawed intelligence, Chen Jiusi not only possessed an extremely advanced Qinggong movement technique that easily allowed him to catch up, his Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms were also peculiar, delivering double force with a single palm—simply inconceivable.

Such a presence, they thought they could hire him for merely thirty First Grade Tai Sui Pills.

Had he known, he wouldn’t have accepted even fifty, fearing his life would be lost here.

Thinking this, the assassin struck a palm towards Chen Jie, his palm meeting Chen Jie’s Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms with a loud clap, their palms clashing.

Crack, crack, was heard as the sound of bone breaking echoed, the assassin’s left arm snapped directly by Chen Jie’s Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms.

The pain knitted his brows tightly as cold sweat streamed, but his strong assassin training allowed him to maintain his composure in agony without crying out, attempting to find an escape route.

At this moment, he sped through the courtyard.

Seeing this, Chen Jie sneered, ”Today, if I let you escape, I’d write my name backwards.”

Chen Jie once again performed the Thunderbolt Step, entangling the assassin, and seeing this, the assassin was furious, knowing he couldn’t escape unless he slayed Chen Jiusi, so he recklessly charged with his sword, unleashing a storm of fast sword attacks upon Chen Jie.

Unfazed, Chen Jie engaged him using the Seventeen Dragon Capturing Palms alongside the Thunderbolt Step.

The two fought fiercely, both risking their lives, exchanging over twenty moves.

Finally, Chen Jie unleashed Crossing the River, sending the assassin flying with a palm strike, crashing loudly against the courtyard wall.

With an explosion, half of the courtyard wall collapsed.

Chen Jie flashed forward, and at this point, the assassin lay in a pool of blood, his ribcage shattered, eyes glaring at Chen Jie.

Chen Jie picked up the fallen treasure sword from the ground, approached the assassin, and stared at her comely face, frowning, as he tapped her face lightly with the sword.

The assassin coughed, ”Heh, a real face, cough, cough...”

Chen Jie asked, ”Who sent you?”

The assassin replied, ”Heh, it’s a rule in our line of work, can’t tell...”

Chen Jie frowned, ”Can’t tell, can’t tell then die!”

The assassin said, ”Heh, in our business, who would fear death?”

Chen Jie furrowed his brow, not afraid of death?

Unsheathing, Chen Jie directly stabbed the sword into the assassin’s thigh.

The assassin’s body tensed with pain, but she didn’t utter a word of agony. Chen Jie frowned, slowly twisting the treasured sword.

”Speak, tell who’s behind this, and I’ll make your end quick.”

Chen Jie prompted.

The assassin trembled in pain, ”Heh, Chen Jiusi, I admit I underestimated you, but don’t boast, I failed, surely others will follow, continuing the assassination mission until you die!”

Chen Jie frowned, ”Who hates me so much, Yelu?”

The assassin mocked, ”Heh, you want to know, I won’t tell you!”

Chen Jie said, ”Heh, not afraid of pain, are you? I have thousands of ways to make you talk, and you’re a woman, aren’t you afraid of me?”

The assassin replied disdainfully, ”You’ve lost your chance.”

Hmm!

Chen Jie was startled, immediately reached out, but saw the assassin already reverse her meridians, rupturing her cerebral blood vessels, her face flushing.

Chen Jie lunged onto her.

”You can’t die, tell me who hired you!”

Chen Jie dashed forward, but at that moment a sudden warning surged in his heart, startling Chen Jie to flash aside, watching as a poison needle shot from the assassin’s mouth.

If Chen Jie had lunged at her, the poison needle would have pierced his throat. As the hidden ace, it must have been coated with a deadly poison, ready to seal the throat upon contact. Had Chen Jie not been cautious, his life could have been forfeit.

Thinking of this, Chen Jie couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat, realizing this assassin was far more professional than those other two.

Chen Jie gazed at the assassin who had severed her own meridians, seeing her spit blood while her face wore an expression of regret, saying: ”Pity, pity...”
