Chapter 886: Chapter 231 Chen 94 How Dare He!

This...

Seeing Chu Tian nailed to the shadowed wall, everyone’s faces were quite grim.

Ah San pointed to a spot on the wall not far away, where a clear plum blossom mark could be seen.

The Plum Blossom Assassin, so arrogant, too arrogant.

The Commandery Princess clenched her fist in anger: ”Chen Jiusi!”

Chen Jie looked at the Commandery Princess upon hearing this, and saw her grit her teeth and say: ”I don’t care who this Plum Blossom Assassin is, or what kind of person they are, we must catch him, no matter the cost.”

”If we don’t capture him, it would be an affront to the law, an affront to all living beings, and an affront to your and my efforts. This is provocation, provocation!”

Chen Jie watched Zhao Ya become so angry and also realized this Plum Blossom Assassin was too arrogant.

Indeed, very arrogant. Without even mentioning the officials killed before they took office, just consider what happened since they took office.

In less than a day, they first killed the Sixth Rank Record Officer Wang Wenyuan from the Magistrate Government and now killed Chu Tian, the fifth-rank magistrate of Huangzhou Prefecture.

Such arrogance, if not dealt with, might turn Huangzhou Prefecture into their playground.

By then, where is the law of the land, where is justice, and how can we prevent the entire officialdom of Huangzhou from panicking?

Thinking this way, Chen Jie squinted his eyes. Is the murderer aiming to create panic throughout Huangzhou, and then seize the opportunity to take action?

It’s known that the backer of the Plum Blossom Assassin is the Zoroastrian Sect.”

But if this Plum Blossom Assassin is Wulu Tai, why would he, a Mulan person, turn to the Zoroastrian Sect? Has he abandoned his own people?

Is he a Mulan traitor?

Chen Jie thought as the Hongjian Sect Leader, Zhong Guang, suddenly rushed to Chu Tian’s side, saying: ”Ah, Brother Chu, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have left earlier. Who would have thought my departure would give the villain a chance and cost you your life...”

Zhong Guang now cried beside Chu Tian, but Chu Tian could not respond.

Seeing this, Chen Jie looked at Zhong Guang and said: ”Master Zhong, please restrain your grief.”

”Let’s first take down the body of Magistrate Chu.”

Chen Jie said, and Zhong Guang wiped his tears and said: ”Yes, we should.”

Saying this, Chen Jie signaled Ah San to come help him take down Chu Tian’s body, but Zhong Guang insisted on doing it himself.

Chen Jie and Zhong Guang removed Chu Tian’s body, and Chen Jie wanted to pull out the sword from Chu Tian’s chest, but Zhong Guang said: ”No, do not desecrate the body.”

Chen Jie was stunned but didn’t stop. He then checked Chu Tian’s body, starting with the nose breathing, which was gone, indicating the breath had completely stopped.

Next, he checked the pulse on Chu Tian’s neck and found it had also disappeared.

Chen Jie then examined Chu Tian’s limbs and body, making a biological determination that this person had lost all signs of life and was completely dead.

Especially the location of this sword, right in the heart, making rescue almost impossible.

Zhong Guang said with a face full of grief and anger: ”This Plum Blossom Assassin deserves to die, my Hongjian Sect will contend with this Plum Blossom Assassin until the end!”

”No rest until death!”

Hearing this, Chen Jie said nothing, while Zhong Guang said: ”Hundred Households Chen, Commandery Princess, though Magistrate Chu is dead, his brothers remain. If there’s anything you need my help with, please instruct. Our Hongjian Sect will not hesitate.”

Chen Jie and Zhao Ya both said: ”Thank you, Master Zhong.”

Zhong Guang said: ”It’s what should be. Brother Chu treated me as a sibling, and I must avenge him!”

Saying this, Zhong Guang’s eyes were filled with a light of hatred.

Chen Jie and Zhao Ya could only advise, but Zhong Guang said: ”Commandery Princess, Hundred Households Chen, since things have come to this, I have nothing more to say. As long as you go to capture Wulu Tai, my Hongjian Sect is willing to take the lead.”

Hearing this, Zhao Ya and Chen Jie were both taken aback.

Why go after Wulu Tai? Are you so sure the murderer is Wulu Tai?

But neither of them spoke, instead saying: ”Master Zhong, the situation is not yet determined. If necessary, we will certainly call upon Master Zhong.”

Zhong Guang replied: ”Okay, I know a Secondary Fifth Rank Assistant Magistrate. Without ironclad evidence, you can’t capture him, but I will handle it in my way!”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Ya frowned: ”Master Zhong, don’t act impulsively. If you go and attack Wulu Tai without authorization, how are your actions any different from the Plum Blossom Assassin?”

Zhong Guang looked at Zhao Ya and said: ”Commandery Princess, my Brother Chu must not die in vain.”

Zhao Ya said: ”Don’t worry, we will certainly give you an explanation regarding the Plum Blossom Assassin.”

Zhong Guang looked at Chen Jie, and Chen Jie said: ”Rest assured, Master Zhong, I will do my utmost to find the mastermind and solve this case.”

Zhong Guang looked at Chen Jie and said: ”Good, I trust you.”

...

The death of the magistrate is a major issue; next, the Darugachi Mansion promptly sends people to investigate and quickly make administrative arrangements, with the magistrate position temporarily filled by the Darugachi Mansion.

Once everything settles.

Chen Jie and the Commandery Princess left the Magistrate’s Mansion, and Zhao Ya looked at Chen Jie and said: ”Jiusi, what do you think about this case?”

Chen Jie said: ”At present, Wulu Tai indeed seems the most suspicious.”

But Chu Tian also seems a bit strange.

The Commandery Princess asked: ”What’s strange about it?”

Chen Jie said: ”His behavior is very odd. He said Wang Wenyuan was there to investigate the Plum Blossom Assassin, but we also saw that there were only two teacups and not much else, plus the room was tidy, with only his abode and nothing else.”
