Chapter 531: Chapter 171 Nan Batian: Chen 94 You TM betrayed me!_6

Yelu asked in a harsh voice, and upon hearing this, Nan Batian was utterly baffled, ”Lord, I’ve been wronged, when have I ever betrayed you?”

Yelu looked at Nan Batian, ”Hmm, you haven’t betrayed me, then why are you conspiring with the Zoroastrian Sect, plotting a rebellion?”

”Lord Yelu, this is a huge misunderstanding, when have I, I, conspired with the Zoroastrian Sect and dared to plot a rebellion? Lord, I absolutely have not, please see the truth!”

”Ha, you still won’t admit it, okay, in that case, how do you explain what happened today?”

”Today?”

Nan Batian was dumbfounded, and then he thought of the guard who had escaped today. Nan Batian said, ”Lord Yelu, I, I’ve been framed, what, what that guard went to do, I, I don’t know!”

”You don’t know, ha, very well, quite the clean denial, then shall I help you remember?”

Yelu said coldly, Nan Batian said, ”Lord, I...”

”Shut up, you listen to me first. Are you in cahoots with the Zoroastrian Sect, and even dealt in military weaponry as well? Today, when Jiu Si mentioned inspecting the manufacture of the military weaponry, you panicked and sent someone to notify the members of the Zoroastrian Sect to move the scene, in order to slip through the inspection, right!”

Nan Batian immediately turned pale, ”I, I haven’t!”

”That guard, I truly didn’t send him out. Someone is framing me!”

Nan Batian was so agitated that he began to swear, but soon an image flashed through his mind, Chen Jiusi’s meaningful smile earlier.

Chen Jiusi, that’s right, it’s that bastard Chen Jiusi who framed me!

In an instant, Nan Batian’s eyes reddened, wishing he could confront Chen Jiusi immediately. At this moment, he urgently said to Yelu, ”Lord Yelu, someone is framing me, not just someone, it’s Chen Jiusi, he’s the one framing me!”

”You know I have a grudge with Chen Jiusi, those twenty-eight guards were killed by me, but Lord, I’ve never colluded with the Zoroastrian Sect, and I wouldn’t dare to!”

”The incident today must be Chen Jiusi framing me. I am innocent; he, he just wants to retaliate against me!”

Nan Batian was completely panicked, speaking without thinking.

Yelu squinted at Nan Batian, ”Oh, so you mean Chen Jiusi deliberately framed you?”

”Yes, yes, it’s Chen Jiusi, he framed me because he hates me for killing his twenty-eight guards, so he calculated against me, and also, my subordinate suspects...”

Yelu asked, ”You suspect what?”

”I, I suspect, Chen Jiusi is the one colluding with the Zoroastrian Sect!”

”Do you have evidence?”

Yelu looked at Nan Batian, Nan Batian said, ”Not at the moment.”

”You accuse without evidence, that’s not good.”

Yelu looked at Nan Batian, Nan Batian said, ”Lord, give me a chance, and I will definitely bring Chen Jiusi to justice. He, he is not a good person.”

Yelu looked at Nan Batian upon hearing this, ”Can I trust you?”

Nan Batian said, ”Lord Yelu, we’ve known each other for ten years and I’ve done many things for you, some involving the Zoroastrian Sect. If I were one of them, how could I possibly slaughter my own people?”

Yelu squinted and said, ”Perhaps, members of the Zoroastrian Sect killing each other to gain the trust of court officials is not unheard of!”

”Lord, trust me, I am definitely not, I swear to the heavens.”

Yelu waved his hand, ”Ha, no need for oaths, I believe you.”

”Thank you, Lord.”

Nan Batian sighed in relief when Yelu didn’t require him to swear, but before he could fully exhale, Yelu said, ”However, although I believe you, you must prove yourself.”

”Prove? How shall I prove it?”

Yelu said, ”You say, you’re not a cohort of the Zoroastrian Sect?”

”Absolutely not!”

Yelu continued, ”Very good, then help me capture these demon people from the Zoroastrian Sect, and what’s more important is that batch of military weaponry. They must be seized and returned to me, and not fall into the hands of the Northern rebel forces. Can you do it?”

”This!”

Nan Batian suddenly looked troubled.

Capturing the demon people of the Zoroastrian Sect and seizing military weaponry, either task was enough to deeply offend the Zoroastrian Sect.

As a man of Jianghu, Nan Batian was known for being smooth and all-sided, and now he was to confront the Zoroastrian Sect?

How was he to cope if the Zoroastrian Sect invaded Mianshui in the future? At this point, he was terribly conflicted. What to do, to agree or not?

Seeing his hesitation, Yelu frowned and looked at Nan Batian, ”Guild Leader Nan, is there a problem, or are you truly colluding with the Zoroastrian Sect?”

After saying this, Yelu’s eyes were filled with murderous intent, and even Nan Batian felt tremendous pressure.

It wasn’t the pressure of martial arts prowess, but the oppression of authority.

Now he was really caught in a difficult position; if he didn’t agree, he feared Yelu would take him down right then. And as he turned his head, he saw Yelu’s number one enforcer, Qimu Ge, standing not far away, with his sword already partially unsheathed.

It was as if he was ready to strike Nan Batian down the moment he refused.

Thinking this, Nan Batian took a deep breath, knowing that he had no choice but to accept this task, however unwilling.

”Lord Yelu, I accept this task, I guarantee that within a month I will capture the demon people from the Zoroastrian Sect and seize the military weaponry they have produced.”

”Half a month,” Yelu said coldly, setting a time limit. Nan Batian was stunned, then cupped his hands and said, ”Yes, half a month to capture the Zoroastrian Sect’s demon people and seize their supply of military weaponry to the Northern rebels.”

Yelu said upon hearing this, ”Good, you may go and prepare.”

”Yes!”

Nan Batian was on the verge of tears, cupped his hands and was exiting when he saw Chen Jie standing at the door, watching him with a smile.

Nan Batian could no longer hold back and roared at Chen Jie, ”Chen Jiusi, you bastard, you’ve screwed me over!”

After saying that, he struck out with a palm towards Chen Jie!
