Chapter 525: Chapter 170 Plotting Against Nan Batian_6

Chen Jiusi looked at Guild Leader Nan and smiled, ”Guild Leader Nan, I will make you bow and admit your mistakes.”

Guild Leader Nan stared back at Chen Jie and said, ”Then let’s try.”

Their eyes met in the air, already resembling a scene of drawn swords and bent bows. They were like fire and water against each other. If it weren’t for Darugachi holding them back, war would have erupted long ago.

Elder Liu watched silently from the side.

At this moment, Mu Ge approached and looked at the two with their swords drawn, ”Gentlemen, this is Yelu Mansion. Even if you want to fight to the death, wait until you leave this place.”

Chen Jie and Guild Leader Nan looked at each other then each scoffed coldly and separated.

They had acted enough in the room just now.

After separating, Mu Ge said, ”Gentlemen, Lord Yelu has spoken. During the Inspection Envoy’s visit, there should be no internal strife in Mianshui County. So, both of you, please restrain yourselves.”

Hearing this, both of them fell silent.

Mu Ge continued, ”The troops have been assembled. I’ll go report to Lord Yelu.”

Upon hearing this, the three stepped back to give way to Mu Ge who then entered the Inner Hall and came to where Lord Yelu was.

Lord Yelu was drinking tea in contemplation at that moment.

Then Mu Ge entered and bowed, ”Lord, the troops have been assembled.”

Yelu said, ”Hmm, go, and remember to check carefully. Do not miss any corner.”

Hearing this, Mu Ge replied, ”Hmm, I understand, but Lord, the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop is our property!”

Yelu remained silent.

Indeed, the development of the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop could not have happened without Yelu’s help. When Yelu first came to Mianshui County, he faced resistance from the native Mulan people and had financial difficulties. It was then that Sun Tiechui from the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop approached him.

He wanted to forge iron agricultural tools for sale, knowing well that iron tools were much more efficient than ordinary wooden ones.

If they could be sold on a large scale, it would be incredibly profitable.

Yelu agreed, and through this, the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop made a large fortune, but the lion’s share went to Yelu, who also valued this money-making avenue. He introduced some weapon-making staff to the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop and then took a commission.

Including all the gangs in Mianshui County, their weapons were almost all made at the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop.

Yelu extracted quite a profit from this, as well.

Thus, the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop was also supported by Yelu, which was what Mu Ge was worried about. Should they really investigate their own property?

Yelu took a sip of tea and said, ”Investigate!”

The Zoroastrian Sect was undermining the foundation of the Daqian Dynasty, and this danger was immense. If he ignored this for personal gain, it would be a betrayal to the Daqian Dynasty and to the century-long loyalty of the Yelu Family.

Therefore, they must investigate.

If it was found that there was indeed something wrong with the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop, then Yelu would ruthlessly eliminate it.

He knew what was the state and what was personal gain!

Mu Ge heard this and bowed, ”I understand, master. I will proceed immediately.”

After saying this, Mu Ge immediately turned and left. As he went out, he saw Chen Jie and the others and said, ”Lord Yelu orders, let’s depart!”

Chen Jie and his group followed Mu Ge and soon arrived outside where a crowd was already standing.

Moreover, there were two mismatched groups of guards, namely those of Guild Leader Nan and Elder Liu. They had both come out with their guard teams today, and each group had a substantial number, around fifty or sixty people each.

Only Chen Jie had two people, Xiao Hu and himself.

Just as everyone was stepping out, they saw a man dressed in black sneaking off.

That black attire was Guild Leader Nan’s man. Mu Ge furrowed his brow and pointed at the figure, ”Who is running?”

Hearing this, everyone was startled. Someone from Guild Leader Nan’s group then said, ”Guild Leader, Sixth Brother Yu has run off!”

”Where did he go?”

”He said his wife was giving birth, so he ran off.”

”Chase him!”

Guild Leader Nan heard this and immediately became furious, yelling to chase him. However, Mu Ge said, ”Don’t chase him; let’s hurry to the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop,” and he glanced at Guild Leader Nan.

Guild Leader Nan’s heart lurched with a bad feeling. This seemed like a trap!

He violently turned to look at Chen Jie, only to see Chen Jie not saying a word but following Mu Ge. Elder Liu then approached Guild Leader Nan and said, ”What did you order that disciple to do? Having a baby? Who would believe that?”

Guild Leader Nan had an unspeakable moroseness: I didn’t, I don’t know.

At this time, Chen Jie, walking ahead, heard Xiao Hu whisper, ”Hall Master, just to give them an illusion, did we use the spy we had embedded in the Fishing Guild for half a year?”

Chen Jie laughed, ”It’s been worth it. This distraction has paid off.”

Smiling, Chen Jie saw his own grin reflected in Xiao Hu’s face, ”But everybody is not a fool, who would believe that it was Guild Leader Nan who sent the message?”

Chen Jie responded, ”They don’t have to believe it. As long as there is a bit of doubt, the spy hasn’t been wasted. Send that spy back to his hometown, and after things blow over, he can come back.”

”Understood.”

Chen Jie looked back at the visibly upset Guild Leader Nan. Bringing down a titan like him would require significant effort, and the first step was to sow doubt.

The role of that spy was to make Mu Ge suspicious. He didn’t need to believe it; doubt was already a victory.

And what would follow next, heh, that would be quite a spectacle.

Thinking this, Chen Jie mused: I wonder how preparations are going at the blacksmith shop?

At this moment, at the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop, a staff member hurried in and said, ”People from Yelu Mansion are heading here.”

Sun Tiechui exchanged glances with Han He and laughed, ”Heh, the play begins.”
