Chapter 528: Chapter 171 Nan Batian: Chen 94, you TM played me!_3

A sign read: County Government!

...

Sun Tiechui then said, ”Everyone, these are the weapons ordered from my shop by the various big guilds within the city. This isn’t against the rules, right? Lord Yelu knows about this too!”

Indeed, Lord Yelu was aware that the Fishing Guild, Guild Cao, Yelu Mansion, and the County Government all needed weapons. Although Daqian banned civilian weaponry, there was no such ban on the guilds.

However, one couldn’t just forge them at will; they were all made at designated production units, namely the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop, under the appointment of Yelu Mansion.

This was the stand where they ordered their weapons.

Qimu Ge picked up a sign and turned it over to find a list on the back.

It read: Fishing Guild, October 6th, ordered seventy fish knives, to be delivered one month later.

He picked up another: Guild Cao, October 15th, ordered fifty waist knives, to be delivered twenty days later.

Yelu Mansion:...

Qimu Ge glanced at the list and then turned to address Nan Batian and the others, ”You all order weapons here?”

Nan Batian and Liu Laoguai nodded in unison, confirming that all these weapons were indeed ordered by them. As such, it seemed that these swords and sabers couldn’t be considered as unauthorized military arms manufacturing.

In fact, they really couldn’t be considered as such, according to the regulations of Yelu Mansion.

Swords and sabers were not controlled weapons and didn’t fall under military arms. Local guilds were allowed to forge them, but what was regulated then?

Indeed, bows, strong crossbows, and armor were strictly controlled.

Especially armor, which was a significant strategic material. If you were found with it, for example a sword or saber, no one would bother you, but if you hid a suit of armor at home, you could be directly accused of harboring treasonous intent.

Of course, the cost to produce armor was too high, and currently, the Zoroastrian Sect couldn’t afford to massively produce such expensive armor.

Therefore, the only military armaments they referred to were strong bows, powerful crossbows, or the iron heads of arrows.

Because if you produce arrowheads, it’s impossible not to make bows as well, just like you can’t have bullets without a gun.

But these swords and sabers couldn’t prove anything.

Qimu Ge looked around and then said, ”Eh, why isn’t there a sign for White Tiger Hall?”

Hearing this, Sun Tiechui said, ”I’ve been too busy with work these past months. When White Tiger Hall placed an order last time, I refused, so they held a grudge and hence went to complain about me to Darugachi, right?”

Chen Jie looked at Sun Tiechui and said, ”I merely mentioned to Darugachi that there was suspicion of military armaments being made here; I never said that there definitely were such armaments here, nor was it meant to target you specifically.”

”What a ’not intentionally targeting’ comment, Chen Jiusi. Do you think I’m a three-year-old child?” Sun Tiechui said with a cold face, looking at Chen Jie.

At that moment, Qimu Ge said, ”Alright, since nothing was found, let’s leave.”

Hearing this, Sun Tiechui said, ”Lord Commander, please take your time leaving.”

”Hold on!”

Just then, Chen Jie suddenly spoke up, causing Sun Tiechui to frown and say, ”What now, Chen Jiusi? Haven’t you had enough?”

Chen Jie said, ”Master Sun, I don’t mean to target you, but we’ve only checked the surface. Who knows if you have any cellars or hidden rooms here?”

”What do you mean by that, Chen Jiusi?”

Chen Jie said with a laugh, ”What do I mean? I suspect someone tipped you off, and then you hid all the military arms where we couldn’t find them.”

”You’re spewing slander!”

”Watch your damn mouth!”

Sun Tiechui was furious, pointing and cursing at Chen Jie, while Xiao Hu, who stood beside Chen Jie, was equally enraged, pointing back at Sun Tiechui. Suddenly, the situation escalated, as if drawn swords were at each other’s necks.

Seeing this scene, Qimu Ge furrowed his brows.

Chen Jie’s words seemed to make sense—it was possible someone had warned Sun Tiechui and he had hidden everything in a secret chamber. Realizing this possibility, Qimu Ge turned to Sun Tiechui and said, ”Master Sun, you don’t really have any cellars or secret rooms here, do you?”

Upon hearing this, Sun Tiechui said, ”No, absolutely not. I conduct myself openly and honestly; I don’t have any tunnels or hidden rooms.”

After hearing his response, Qimu Ge suspiciously sized up Sun Tiechui. Then he said, ”Really?”

Sun Tiechui replied, ”Why would I lie to you?”

Qimu Ge said, ”Let’s search then.”

Following that, Qimu Ge ordered, ”Search! Dig three feet into the ground if necessary, to see if there are any cellars or secret chambers!”

”Yes, sir!”

At his command, a group of Yelu Mansion guards, with the shovels they had found, began to dig around at Sun Tiechui’s place.

Watching his yard being turned upside down, the walls being knocked over, Sun Tiechui’s eyes were bloodshot with rage as he glared at Chen Jie and said, ”Chen Jiusi, I will never let this go!”

In response, Chen Jie said, ”I am solely devoted to justice, and I am not afraid of you at all!”

The two of them exchanged fierce glances, their eyes filled with the tension of an ongoing clash, each resolute not to back down.

All this did not escape Qimu Ge’s observation.

He was left wondering if Sun Tiechui was indeed wrongfully accused.

What about the escape of Nan Batian’s lackey? Or could it be that Nan Batian conspired with Sun Tiechui to move the military arms?

Qimu Ge was deeply troubled; however, even after the Sun Family Blacksmith Shop had been thoroughly searched, to the point where they were nearly digging three feet into the ground, no problems were discovered.

Was there really no cellar here?

How could that be, there was one, but the entrance of the cellar had been sealed off in advance by Sun Tiechui. Even a deity couldn’t find it.

He had set this trap with Chen Jie. If there were any loopholes, would he dare let Qimu Ge in so boldly?

Impossible. Since there was no loophole, he could let Qimu Ge search to his heart’s content. Even if they dismantled the blacksmith’s shop, it wouldn’t matter.
