Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Lin Yan turned his attention to the completed Rank Six Immortal Gu Formation, Raging Fire, and nodded with satisfaction.

The formation possessed four major abilities. The first was to greatly increase a person’s talent, an effect Lin Yan had already experienced firsthand. Once activated, his comprehension and creativity rose tremendously, while insights from different paths connected naturally within his mind. New ideas surfaced one after another, allowing him to solve problems that would normally require years of deduction.

However, this ability could not be activated frequently. Each use consumed a tremendous amount of accumulated human qi. It also drew out nearly everything the affected person’s current knowledge and experience could produce. Afterward, further deductions would yield little until they recovered or gained new insights.

The vast crimson clouds that had once covered the skies above dozens of cities were now visibly thinner, revealing the cost of a single activation. Even with more than ten million people replenishing them every day, restoring the clouds to their previous state would take considerable time. Lin Yan therefore could not rely on Raging Fire whenever he encountered a difficult problem.

Its second ability nourished the population while directing part of the human qi they produced toward the Thousand Wishes Tree. The benefits were already visible throughout Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. Mortals became healthier and more energetic, while Gu Masters showed greater enthusiasm for cultivation and production.

The Thousand Wishes Tree benefited even more. With more than ten million people supporting it, the tree had previously required around ten years to produce a mature fruit. After becoming part of the Raging Fire formation, that period had been shortened to roughly three years.

The first batch of Thousand Wishes Fruits would mature in only a few more months. By consuming most of them at once, Lin Yan could make a wish powerful enough to obtain a Rank Six Immortal Gu.

However, he already possessed sixteen Immortal Gu and had yet to bring out their full potential. Another Rank Six Immortal Gu would offer little immediate benefit while adding another feeding requirement.

Rather than use the fruits so hastily, Lin Yan planned to accumulate three or four batches before making his wish. By then, their combined power would be enough to obtain a Rank Seven Flame Path Immortal Gu.

The third ability brought Lin Yan an even greater surprise. Raging Fire could gather vast amounts of human qi and human wishes to nurture Relic Gu through the Thousand Wishes Tree.

Lin Yan could then use these Relic Gu, together with the required Gu materials and the power of the Thousand Wishes Tree, to refine Creation Relic Gu on a large scale.

Creation Relic Gu would play a vital role in nurturing the Huang Family’s future Gu Immortals. By raising the aptitude of his clansmen, Lin Yan could steadily increase the number of high-grade talents among the blessed lands population of more than ten million.

As more clansmen reached Rank Five and attempted Immortal Ascension, the Huang Family would gradually produce more Gu Immortals. Those with higher aptitude would also have a better chance of forming large grade immortal apertures during their ascension.

The fourth ability was completely different. By rearranging several parts of Raging Fire, Lin Yan could transform the grand formation into the offensive formation, Invading Like Fire.

Invading Like Fire drew upon the strength of more than ten million people, as well as the countless beasts and plants across Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. When all this power converged into a single attack, it could unleash the might of peak Rank Seven.

Raging Fire itself had already reached the limit of Rank Six and stood only a step away from Rank Seven. Moreover, Firelike Immortal Gu was no longer its sole core.

The Thousand Wishes Tree now served as its second Human Path core. With the two cores supporting each other, Raging Fire surpassed the limits of an ordinary Rank Six Immortal Gu Formation.

Its many abilities made it comparable to a Rank Six Immortal Gu House. The only major difference was unlike an Immortal Gu House, it could not move freely.

Lin Yan estimated that adding a Formation Spirit would strengthen Raging Fire even further.

”Raging Fire turned out even stronger than I expected. It assists cultivation, manages the blessed land, launches attacks, and even supports Gu refinement... The Thousand Wishes Tree truly changed everything. Without this second Human Path core, at least two of these abilities would never have appeared.”

After one final inspection, Lin Yan left to construct the other two new Rank Six Immortal Gu Formations.

Improving his killer moves had not been his only achievement during the period of enlightenment beneath the Thousand Wishes Tree. He had also completed the designs for two grand formations, one built around Sunflame Valley and the other around Thunder Pool.
