Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

With a flick of Lin Yan sleeve, a ray of immortal light flew from his immortal aperture. In an instant, Flame Sovereign Blessed Land unfolded above the Blazing Yellow Heaven Pit, revealing a vast and colorful world.

The blessed land greedily absorbed Heaven and Earth Qi. Streams of clear heavenly qi descended from the sky while golden earthly qi rose from the earth, both converging into the blessed land like mighty rivers.

Two years had passed in the blink of an eye. Looking down upon Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, Lin Yan’s expression grew somewhat complicated. During this period, he had rarely left seclusion. His days were spent managing the blessed land, deducing killer moves, cultivating, and overcoming one tribulation after another. Although repetitive, they were peaceful. If such days could continue forever, he would have no complaints.

Unfortunately, that was nothing more than wishful thinking. The truly chaotic era was about to begin. There was only a little over a month left before Fang Yuan’s rebirth.

Lin Yan lowered his gaze again toward the vast expanse of Flame Sovereign Blessed Land...

After two years of development, its area had already reached more than 13000 square kilometres, only a step away from the peak size of a super grade blessed land.

Within Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, however, more than ninety years had already passed. During that time, an Earth Calamity descended every Ten years. Including the first calamity after his Immortal Ascension, he had already survived nine Earth Calamities.

Each Earth Calamity expanded the blessed land by several hundred square kilometres. After nine tribulations, its area had increased by nearly four thousand square kilometres.

This was the natural path of every blessed land. Earth Calamities, Heavenly Tribulations, and grand tribulations all contained Space Path dao marks. As those dao marks accumulated, the blessed land continued to expand until it eventually transformed into a grotto-heaven.

Otherwise, how could the grotto-heavens of Rank Eight Gu Immortals become so vast? Some contained layer upon layer of heaven and earth, nurtured hundreds of millions of living beings, and gave birth to generation after generation of Gu Immortals. Even Immemorial Desolate Beasts could roam freely within them, as though they lived in an independent world.

The original novel never explained it directly, but one point was made clear. A blessed land formed during Immortal Ascension was only its initial stage. As a Gu Immortal underwent tribulation after tribulation, the blessed land would continue to expand until it eventually transformed into a grotto-heaven.

He also remembered that annexing another Gu Immortal’s blessed land to increase its size and avoid tribulations was option for many Gu Immortals. Those with true talent rarely did so. Although it could rapidly expand a blessed land, it came at the cost of a large loss of dao marks, greatly limiting its future potential.

Lin Yan looked across Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. The endless Flame Desert, the towering Molten Flame Mountains, the fertile Li Fire Plains, and the Thunderous Hills were all filled with vitality. Dense earth Qi drifted through the land as countless beast groups roamed freely beneath an endless daylight sky, making the entire blessed land resemble a world of flames.

Scattered throughout the blessed land were nearly thirty Desolate Beasts and Desolate Plants. Their powerful auras covered every region, and their roars shook the mountains and plains, proclaiming their dominance over this land.

After more than eighty years of development within the blessed land, its accumulated foundation had become astonishing. In addition to the original Desolate Beasts and Desolate Plants, it had nurtured nearly twenty more. Among them were the Eight Desolate Flame Wolf, Red-Horned Desolate Goat, White Sun Dragon Elephant, Netherfire Dragon Python, Primeval Red Bull, Fire Phoenix, Fusang Tree, Hundred Beast Thunder Dragon, and Azure Lightning Thunderbird.

Beyond the flourishing beast groups, every corner of Flame Sovereign Blessed Land had already been thoroughly developed. The eastern and western regions, together with the skies above and the underground world below, had all formed complete ecosystems. Through countless deductions within the Dream Realm, Lin Yan continuously adjusted and perfected them until they rivaled the original Flame Desert and Li Fire Plains.

With every region fully developed, Flame Sovereign Blessed Land had already reached the standard of a peak Rank Seven blessed land. As its ecology continued to mature, Immortal Material resource points naturally emerged one after another. Besides the original eight, nearly twenty new resource points had formed, including Nine Dragons Lightning Gang Flame, Lightning Plasma, Phoenix Fire, Sun Flower, Extreme Flame Treasure Sand, and Earth Fiend Flame, covering both Flame Path and Lightning Path.

Including its Desolate Beasts and Desolate Plants, Flame Sovereign Blessed Land now possessed a total of fifty Immortal Rank resource points. Although most were only medium-sized, such a foundation was already beyond the reach of many Rank Seven Gu Immortals.

Its annual income had also increased to around five thousand immortal essence stones, of which the Immortal Rank resource points contributed the overwhelming majority, bringing in around three thousand five hundred immortal essence stones.

The hundreds of mortal resource points contributed another seven to eight hundred immortal essence stones each year. Special resources such as the Netherfire Dragon Python and Yi Huo Spider produced a similar amount. Together, they brought in only around fifteen hundred immortal essence stones.

This was only to be expected. No matter how abundant or rare mortal resources became, they were still mortal materials. Their value had a natural limit. After more than eighty years of development within the blessed land, their growth had long since reached its peak.

Based on the blessed land’s annual income, Lin Yan should have accumulated nearly three hundred thousand immortal essence stones over the past two years.

Yet he possessed little more than ten thousand. The reason was simple. He had never sold any of the blessed land’s Immortal Rank resources. Every one of them was reserved for his own cultivation. Some were refined into immortal materials for storage, some were kept to refine Flame Path Immortal Gu, some were consumed to increase his Flame Path dao marks, and the remaining were exchanged for precious inheritances and cultivation knowledge.
