Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Lin Yan ventured deep into Green Ghost Desert, found a secluded cave, and released the Green Claw Ghost Winged Lion to stand guard. The aura of an Immemorial Desolate Beast spread across the surroundings like a bottomless abyss. Soul beasts that normally roamed the desert scattered in every direction, not daring to approach within fifty kilometers.

No sooner had Lin Yan settled down than his Information Path Gu began transmitting messages one after another. Just as he had expected, the entire Western Desert was in an uproar. News that a Rank Six Gu Immortal had fought three Rank Seven Gu Immortals, killing one and severely injuring the other two, had already spread throughout Treasure Yellow Heaven. Countless Gu Immortals wanted to know how Lin Yan had accomplished such an impossible feat. Some hoped to recruit him, while others sought to befriend him before his reputation spread even further.

Among the many messages, those from Sun Cu, Tang Fangming, and Wan Lianghan caught his attention.

Sun Cu’s message arrived first, his tone filled with both shock and exasperation.

”Lin Yan! Have you lost your mind? You actually killed a Mo Family Gu Immortal! The Mo Family has gone completely mad. Since they can’t find you, they’ve started coming after me instead!”

”Where are you? Tell me immediately. I’ll come to you.”

Tang Fangming’s message was composed. ”I’ve heard what happened. If the situation continues to escalate, the Tang Family is willing to lend you a hand.”

Wan Lianghan’s message was the shortest, yet also the most important. ”The Mo Family has already begun negotiating with the other super forces. They’re preparing to invite a Wisdom Path Gu Immortal to deduce your whereabouts. They’ve also dispatched their Rank Seven Immortal Gu House, Myriad Earth Flying Sand Castle. Stay hidden for the time being.”

Lin Yan frowned as he read through the flood of messages, but he remained calm. With an Immemorial Desolate Beast under his command and having battle strength comparable to a peak Rank Seven Gu Immortal, the Mo Family alone was no longer enough to threaten him.

What he truly needed to avoid was becoming the common enemy of every super force in the Western Desert. Without hesitation, he replied to Wan Lianghan and Tang Fangming. He claimed that he had obtained an ancient desolate plant through a fortunate opportunity, only for the Mo Family to falsely accuse him of stealing their property and pursue him relentlessly. Having no way out, he had been forced to defend himself.

”Mo Si’s death has dealt the Mo Family a severe blow. The other super forces are probably happy to see them suffer such a setback. At least for now, none of them will be eager to help the Mo Family.”

As for Sun Cu, Lin Yan let out a faint sigh before sending a short apology. However, he never revealed his whereabouts to Sun Cu.

The alliance agreement between them could still be used against him. If a Wisdom Path Gu Immortal used it as the basis for a deduction, there was a chance they could uncover clues about his whereabouts. The problem had to be dealt with sooner rather than later.

Fortunately, the solution was already within reach. Once he obtained the two Immortal Gu required for Dao Without Conflict, he could create the corresponding Space Path killer move, retrieve the alliance agreement, and erase that hidden danger completely.

Moreover, over the past two years, Sun Cu had grown close to the Wan Family. Even if the alliance agreement disappeared in the future, it was unlikely to arouse much suspicion.

Having confirmed that nothing more demanded his immediate attention, Lin Yan turned his thoughts toward the gains in the last few days.

During the past two years, He had created eight new Rank Six Flame Path and Dream Path Immortal Gu Recipes. The memories left behind by his previous self also contained the complete Immortal Gu Recipes required for the six key killer moves, the two Secluded Domains of Heaven and Earth, and One Immortal Gu House Cloud Dream Heavenly Palace.

Altogether, he now possessed thirty to forty newly created Immortal Gu Recipes, along with seven or eight complete existing ones. Most were Rank Six or Rank Seven. There had originally been several Rank Eight recipes as well, but the information they contained was simply too vast. Most had been lost while passing through the River of Time.

Over the course of five hundred years, Lin Yan had created an enormous number of Immortal Gu Recipes by taking advantage of Dream Realm deductions. In reality, however, he had refined very few of them. The cost of refining Immortal Gu was simply too much. Otherwise, he would have long since become a Refinement Path Great Grandmaster. After all, even a Rank Eight Gu Immortal could bankrupt themselves attempting to refine a single Rank Eight Immortal Gu, only to fail in the end.

Beyond the accumulation of his previous life, there were also the inheritances of Zhen Yuanzi and Thieving Heaven.

The value of Zhen Yuanzi’s True Inheritance hardly needed to be mentioned. As for the Thieving Heaven True Inheritance, besides the Rank Nine killer move and the complete recipes for its two core Rank Nine Immortal Gu, Lightning Gu and Hatred Gu, it also contained dozens of complete Immortal Gu Recipes spanning from Ranks Six to Rank Eight.
