Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

As Lin Yan watched the Thousand Wishes Tree flourish, his thoughts drifted back to his previous life.

To leave behind a path for his second life, he had not relied solely on the killer move All Roads Lead to the Same Destination. He had also prepared two other contingency plans.

The first was to use his Dream Path Great Grandmaster attainment to research the Space Escape Immortal Gu, hoping to uncover clues to the legendary Space Path secluded domain of Heaven and Earth, Space Cave.

In the Legends of Ren Zu, when Ren Zu’s soul fell into the Door of Life and Death, Cognition Gu told his daughter, Desolate Ancient Moon, that there were only two ways to save him. One was to find the legendary Space Cave, open the Space Door, and use its mysterious pathways to reach any place in the world. Yet even Cognition Gu could not tell her where the Space Cave lay, only that it existed. In the end, Desolate Ancient Moon was forced to abandon that path.

Since then, the existence of Space Cave had never been doubted, but no one had ever discovered how to find it.

Even Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable devoted his entire life to searching for it. Hoping to enter Space Cave and return to his original world, he once entrusted Old Ancestor Long Hair with refining Space Escape Immortal Gu. Unfortunately, the refinement ended in failure.

To make up for it, Old Ancestor Long Hair granted Thieving Heaven ten free Gu refinement opportunities. Thieving Heaven used seven of them during his lifetime, leaving the remaining three to his future inheritors. Those three opportunities were preserved within Lang Ya Blessed Land

Later, his close friend, Immortal Yi Yan, made a prophecy that only Great Dream Immortal Venerable would have any hope of successfully refining Space Escape Immortal Gu.

In his previous life, Lin Yan had pondered this prophecy for a long time. Space and time were inseparable, together forming the foundation of the world itself. Space Cave and the River of Time were undoubtedly the two most mysterious places in the Gu World. Combined with Immortal Yi Yan’s prophecy, he believed they might hold the key to leaving behind another method for his second life.

The second contingency plan revolved around the Thousand Wishes Tree. During his previous life, Lin Yan conceived an audacious scheme.

He would dismantle the key Gu worms from his various killer moves and secretly weave them into the Thousand Wishes Tree. When Fang Yuan eventually made his wish, those Gu worms would naturally become part of the reward.

Once Fang Yuan obtained them, whether he refined them into Immortal Gu, incorporated them into new killer moves, or traded them in Treasure Yellow Heaven, traces would inevitably be left behind. By following those traces, Lin Yan could gradually reconstruct the killer moves they once belonged to and recover the techniques he had deliberately scattered.

With Fang Yuan’s temperament, he was certain the latter would never allow valuable Gu worms to gather dust. He would exploit every one of them to its fullest potential, following a path Lin Yan had carefully laid out long ago.

In some ways, this plan resembled how Red Lotus Demon Venerable had left Destiny Song for Feng Jiu Ge. It also shared similarities with Incomplete Freedom Transformation, the famous killer move created by that beast milk-loving Demon Venerable.

Naturally, ordinary Gu worms would never suffice. Each one had to be an indispensable component of a killer move while remaining valuable enough for Fang Yuan to refine, trade, or circulate through Treasure Yellow Heaven. Only then could Lin Yan follow their trail and piece together the complete inheritance little by little.

To make this plan possible, he had painstakingly redesigned nearly every killer move in his possession.

Thinking back on it now, Lin Yan could not help but smile.

”As expected of me. Who else could have prepared so thoroughly, if not me? My genius truly defies description.”

Immediately afterward, Lin Yan swept the surroundings with his senses one final time. Activating Self Dream Gu, he erased every trace of his aura before departing for his next opportunity in Western Desert.

There was no point in lingering. With the Thousand Wishes Tree gone, the illusion concealing the area had already begun to dissipate. It was only a matter of time before a Mo Family Gu Immortal discovered the anomaly. Worse still, the commotion would inevitably draw Heaven’s Will’s attention.

Having learned from Fang Yuan’s dealings with Heaven’s Will in his previous life, Lin Yan operated by a single principle: Act with lightning speed and finish everything before Heaven’s Will had time to react.

A few breaths later, he crossed deep into Mo Family territory and arrived above Sand Wolf City. Hidden from sight, he gazed at the bustling city below, the corners of his lips curling into a faint smile.

Buried nearby lay another heaven-shaking opportunity, one of the Ten True Inheritances left behind by Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable.
