Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Yet the moment Lin Yan sensed his attainment, all his exhaustion vanished beneath a wide smile. His Formation Path attainment had reached Grandmaster!

Countless insights surged through Lin Yan’s mind. The Great Dream Immortal Realm, Endless Fire Domain, Cloud Dream Heavenly Palace, and Soul Devouring Demon Subduing Formation no longer seemed as complicated as before. Problems that once troubled him now became clear, while flaws and unnecessary steps hidden within the formations revealed themselves one after another. Given enough time, he could restructure them and raise their power far beyond their current level.

”Dream Path truly deserves its reputation as the fastest path for raising attainment. In only a few days, my Formation Path attainment has already caught up with the Flame Path attainment that took me years to reach.”

Even after exploring many Dream Realms in his previous life, Lin Yan still found this speed astonishing. Normally, reaching Grandmaster required years of study and practice, yet he had absorbed years of Zhen Yuanzi’s experiences in only a few days.

Now that his Formation Path attainment had reached Grandmaster, Lin Yan could finally carry out several plans that had previously been beyond his abilities. However, his gains from Zhen Yuanzi’s Dream Realm went far beyond Formation Path attainment.

Through Zhen Yuanzi’s experiences, Lin Yan had studied numerous land spirits, observed their unique traits, and witnessed the experiments that eventually led to the creation of Formation Spirit Immortal Gu. This gave him a much deeper understanding of land spirits and heavenly spirits, even allowing him to glimpse some of the profound mysteries of Heaven Path.

With these gains, Lin Yan intended to complete the Firelike Gu Formation, rebuild the Hairy Man Gu Refinement Stone Nests, and modify the Soul Devouring Demon Subduing Formation. Most importantly, he could now use Zhen Yuanzi’s research to create Formation Path killer moves specifically designed to restrain land spirits and heavenly spirits.

After that, Lin Yan first examined his injuries. During the exploration of Zhen Yuanzi’s Dream Realm, he had activated Dream Path Killer Move more than a hundred times, relying on his superior Dream Path methods to force his way through the most difficult parts. Even so, his soul foundation had fallen from one hundred thousand man soul to only a few thousand, leaving his soul dangerously close to dispersing.

Compared with Fang Yuan, however, such consumption was remarkably low. Whenever Fang Yuan explored the Dream Realm of a Rank Seven Gu Immortal, a single exploration could consume millions of souls. His greatest advantages were Dang Hun Mountain and Luo Po Valley, which allowed him to strengthen and restore his soul repeatedly.

However, Fang Yuan lacked a true Dream Path Immortal Gu for exploring Dream Realms. His killer move used the Rank Six Wisdom Path Immortal Gu Unravel Mystery as its core, supported by numerous mortal Dream Path Gu. In essence, it used Wisdom Path methods to imitate the profound effects of Dream Path. Not only did it place considerable pressure on his soul, but every activation also consumed large numbers of mortal Dream Path Gu, preventing him from using it freely.

Lin Yan’s circumstances were almost the exact opposite. His Soul Path foundation was weak, but his Dream Path far surpassed Fang Yuan’s at that stage. His Dream Interpretation was a genuine Dream Path killer move built around Dream Path Immortal Gu.

Furthermore, Dream Derivation Immortal Gu could draw upon the dreams of more than ten million people to provide a continuous supply of Dream Path Gu materials. The loss of some mortal Gu was hardly worth considering. More importantly, Awakening from a Dream gave Lin Yan a reliable means of escape whenever a Dream Realm became too dangerous.

After confirming his condition, Lin Yan took out the bronze formation flag and gently shook it. Faint threads of light descended from the Soul Devouring Demon Subduing Formation and entered his body, slowly nourishing his damaged soul. He supplemented the process with several Soul Path Gu worms.

Finally, Lin Yan activated Self Dream Gu to thoroughly cleanse his soul and erase any traces Heaven’s Will might have left behind.

Once his soul had recovered enough to move freely, Lin Yan turned his attention to Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. His first target was the Hairy Man Gu Refinement Formation.

The original twenty stone nests had been constructed as separate formations, each responsible for its own refinement process. Lin Yan dismantled the old arrangement and connected all twenty into a single massive circular formation. Materials and Gu worms could now be transferred directly between the stone nests, while Hairy Men and refinement tasks could be assigned wherever they were needed most.

With his Formation Path attainment at Grandmaster, many flaws he had previously overlooked became obvious. After several rounds of modification, the overall production efficiency nearly doubled. Together, the twenty stone nests could now refine close to two hundred thousand Rank Five Gu every year.

These were still mortal formations, so modifying them was not particularly difficult for a Formation Path Grandmaster. What limited their further development was no longer Lin Yan’s attainment, but the lack of a suitable Refinement Path Immortal Gu.
