Ning An's Wild Wish System

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: In the Daoist Temple, Wild Wish Response

”Little Daoist, it’s really magical!”

”The immortals in your Daoist temple are truly effective! Ever since I moved the mirror out of the bedroom as you suggested, I feel like the atmosphere at home has gotten a lot better.”

Before even stepping into the Daoist temple, a slightly dark-skinned farmer’s wife was already shouting excitedly.

”Sister Li, can we drop the ’little’ next time?” Under the chime, Ning An reluctantly looked up, ”This has nothing to do with the immortals. You put a mirror in front of your bed, wake up in the morning with disheveled hair, and see yourself in the mirror, whoosh~ a string of elegant expletives escapes, nearly scaring yourself to death. How could you be in a good mood at home?”

”Well, I don’t care. I found peace of mind here, and today I have to keep going and continue to offer to the immortals, the elderly ones.”

Sister Li snorted softly and rolled her eyes at Ning An, pulled out three brand new red banknotes from her pocket, and put them into the merit box, then skillfully picked up the longest incense stick on the far right of the table, and respectfully offered it, followed by a standard salute.

Ning An looked at the stubborn woman in front of him, shook his head, but his face held a somewhat brilliant smile. He heavily struck the wooden mallet in his hand, and after the woman’s ceremony was completed, exactly three chimes sounded.

After the woman left, the Daoist temple once again returned to its tranquility.

Looking at the rather desolate Daoist temple in front of him, Ning An scratched his head, feeling quite troubled.

”What’s this all about? Other people transmigrate and thrive everywhere, and even if they’re not doing great, at least they’re enjoying the good life.”

”Who ever heard of a transmigrator in an ordinary world inheriting a desolate Daoist temple in the deep mountains as a starting point?”

Yes, Ning An is not a person of this world.

On Blue Star, he lost in the civil service exam with disastrous results, drifted aimlessly, and got severely whipped by society, leaving him unable to cheer up ever since.

On a dark and windy night, just as he was about to deeply discuss with a senior technician whether the human body can withstand tests!

The city lights dazzled his eyes, and in one second he was enveloped in gentle femininity, and in the next, he was in a Daoist temple full of dust.

That day, he didn’t twist and scream hysterically like a dark worm, just lying there was already a testament to his strong mental resilience!

It hurt too much!

He had thought it would be his chance to leap into prominence, but instead, half a year has passed and he’s still disgracing the transmigrator army from his hometown.

How could Ning An not be tearfully sorrowful.

If not for his tough past life and two years of being a Daoist at home to cultivate his character, he’d probably have wanted to leave already.

Just then, a clear sound suddenly rang out.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for being selected, based on the host’s current status, now matching the system for the host~]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host, successfully matched with the Wild Path Wish-Granting System!]

[Would you like to activate it?]

Ning An was instantly moved to tears, he must choose to activate it decisively!

”System, what functions does our system have?”

[Ding! This system has quite a singular function, as long as someone comes to the host’s Daoist temple to make a wish, the system will fulfill the wish and the host will receive a reward!]

Oh ho!

After listening to the introduction, Ning An’s eyes instantly lit up, but then his expression turned a bit bitter.

The system is good, but his Daoist temple is too remote; who would skip the Dragon and Tiger Temple in the city to come to his deserted Daoist temple to offer incense!

”If I inherited the Dragon and Tiger Temple in the city, wouldn’t I be rolling in rewards, with even innate deficiencies being the deadliest?”

Not caring to complain, Ning An’s eyes shifted, and he had an idea.

This world is quite similar to Blue Star overall, with only a few small differences, everything else is pretty much carved from the same mold.

In this internet age, what could be more engaging than live streaming?

Just do it.

When the system hadn’t come yet, Ning An could reason it out in any way, but now the system is here, pretending anymore would be impolite.

After an incense stick burn later.

”Authentic hand-crafted beauty paper figures, used by underground ancestors with praise!”

With the title edited and the cover set with a photo of a card dealer dealing cards online, Ning An expertly opened the live streaming equipment and started the stream.

This world’s hosts are even more competitive than those on Blue Star; without a standout point, how can one break through!

Cursed?

Cursed let it be, he’s already gone for the vulgar marketing tactic, isn’t it only fair to allow the audience to curse?

In less than two minutes, seven or eight familiar incense burners had already entered the stream.

”Yo, yo, yo, our Little Daoist actually started streaming, quite impressive for the first time, nothing to say, hit the like!”

”Honestly, if I hadn’t followed Little Daoist ahead of time, I would’ve definitely come in to curse a bit just based on this stream’s title.”

”Little Daoist, can your paper figure sing, play instruments or anything? My dad left early, but he played a lot, I’m afraid your paper figure can’t handle it.”

”Goodness, you’re a real filial child, hahahahaha.”

...

This kind of title may be vulgar, but it undeniably catches eyes, and the once quiet stream instantly flooded with hundreds of people.

Of course, the title and cover also attracted some bizarre online trolls.

”Paper figures? Like the ones made by Li Changgeng? I want to see beauties, and it has to be like the ones in the stream cover, host hurry up, I don’t have much stamina and can’t hold out for long.”

”My ancestral name is Lu Zhishen! Today my ancestor passed down a request for a paper figure with a 36C, curvy with a face better than celebrities, if you can’t make it, be careful I’ll report your stream.”

”Which Daoist temple is this, are cultivators’ cultivation levels so lacking now, where is their conscience, dignity, and where is the address?”

Seeing the online numbers rapidly soaring, Ning An internally shouted ’awesome’.

But to prevent these keyboard warriors from setting the narrative, Ning An slightly adjusted his facial expression, then smiled at the camera.

”Dear benefactors, the poor Daoist first offers an apology, indeed I deceived everyone.”

”I’m here to bring incense burners to the Changchun Temple, our Daoist temple is a bit remote, and the venerable forebear’s incense offerings aren’t many, so this humble succesor can only try online to see if I can bring more offerings to the venerable forebear.”

After Ning An said this, the viewers immediately burst into laughter.

”This Little Daoist is honest, recruiting incense burners online, hahahahaha.”

”Burning virtual incense, seeing mechanical ancestors, obtaining cyber Daoist scriptures, faith moving to digital programs now, tsk tsk tsk.”

”I just checked the address, the host is from our city, but honestly, when it comes to burning incense for blessings and wishing, I’d rather go to the Dragon and Tiger Temple, at least it feels a bit more reassuring throwing money there.”

”Dragon and Tiger Temple? You mean the one where an initial incense offering costs hundreds of thousands? I heard it’s quite effective, I’ll visit when I get a chance.”

”Host, maybe we should switch lanes, you can’t fight against a bigger place.”

Seeing the comments, Ning An felt both helpless and at a loss for words.

Their points are valid, burning incense and making wishes is inherently elusive, everyone just seeks peace of mind.

Compared to an unknown little Daoist temple, people prefer donating their money to a reputable place, earning the system’s rewards isn’t easy!

While Ning An was secretly pondering how to gather a few more people, a hoarse, cold voice suddenly came.
