A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1496: Chapter 1486: What Is the Truth?

Zhuang Shaoyang detected the hostility in Zhou Yang’s tone and wasn’t in the mood to bicker. He said, ”Alright, I’m not here to banter with you. Tell me, where is she?”

”Of course, she’s in the interrogation room. This woman has a pretty tough mouth. Even caught red-handed, she keeps denying her guilt. Since you two are old acquaintances, maybe she’ll change her mind when she sees you,” Zhou Yang said, leading him to the interrogation room.

Zhuang Shaoyang followed and asked as they walked, ”Can you tell me what happened?”

”You got involved without knowing anything? Shao Yang, when did you become so unclear about right and wrong, or is this woman’s charm really that big?”

”What are you talking about? I’m discussing serious matters.”

”Alright, I’ll be straight. This woman gathered a bunch of desperados and kidnapped a girl yesterday. Her people shot and injured someone. If we hadn’t arrived in time, two other women at the scene would also have been harmed,” Zhou Yang declared.

Zhuang Shaoyang frowned slightly, ”Why would she kidnap someone?”

”She originally intended to kidnap a girl to threaten her mother, but her people kidnapped the wrong person. However, after the mother found out her daughter was kidnapped, she came as she was told. Surprisingly, although the daughter wasn’t kidnapped, she was present at the scene. It sounds complicated, but it’s really just a case of women fighting over men,” Zhou Yang said, glancing at Zhuang Shaoyang with interest. ”Back in school, you were quite the hit with the female classmates. Didn’t expect you’d still be so popular in middle age.” ℯ

Zhuang Shaoyang felt a bit displeased, ”What does this have to do with me?”

”Don’t you know who the woman intended to kidnap?” Zhou Yang seemed surprised.

”Who? Am I supposed to know?” Zhuang Shaoyang retorted.

Zhou Yang suddenly chuckled, ”The girl she wanted to kidnap is a big celebrity, the one who’s been very popular recently, and you know her.”

Zhuang Shaoyang’s heart skipped a beat with a sense of foreboding.

Just as he was about to ask him, they arrived at the interrogation room door.

”She’s inside. As a courtesy to old friends, I’m giving you ten minutes.”

Zhuang Shaoyang didn’t go in but asked, ”Who exactly did she want to kidnap?”

”Aren’t you already at the door? Just go in and ask her,” Zhou Yang said with a smile, then turned and left.

Zhuang Shaoyang frowned slightly, deepening his suspicion.

He looked at the door of the interrogation room, paused for a moment, and then pushed it open to enter.

Liang Rong sat in a position further inside. After a night of interrogation, Liang Rong looked somewhat disheveled, her hair messy, her makeup smudged, appearing extremely exhausted, as if she had aged ten years.

Anyone seeing a woman who was once exquisite now in such a sorry state would feel sympathy from the depths of their heart.

A coffee cup sat in front of her, its contents long gone cold.

Two policemen sat across from her, staring at her with expressionless faces.

Upon hearing the door open, the two policemen stood up. Zhou Yang’s voice followed, ”You guys step out, let them talk.”

The two policemen immediately exited.

Liang Rong looked up and saw Zhuang Shaoyang at the door, her expression excited. She stood up at once and shouted, ”Shao Yang, did she tell you something? Believe me, I didn’t do it, she’s lying.”

As she stood up, the handcuffs on her wrists were exposed, and the cold metal seemed to glint with chilling light, slowly cooling Zhuang Shaoyang’s heart.

Zhuang Shaoyang stepped in, closed the door, turned to look at her, his gaze as cold as ice, ”Then tell me, what’s the truth?”
