A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1457: Chapter 1447: The Shareholders’ Wrath

The resort hotel project was decided a year or two ago, located near a lake district with beautiful scenery.

The original plan was to make it the highest star-rated hotel in the city, but now the government has strict environmental regulations. They intend to turn that area into an ecological protection lake as a model for the city, naturally prohibiting the Shengyuan Group from building a hotel there.

Although the government department has not issued an official notice, the news has already spread.

”Blame him, not us? We said from the beginning that the investment was too big and the risk too high, but unfortunately he was stubborn, relying on his position as president, thinking he could do as he pleased, completely disregarding us shareholders.”

The shareholders are full of grievances, saying any unpleasant words as they vent their anger.

Jiang Wenhui looked embarrassed; she turned to Jiang Jingheng and whispered, ”Jing Heng, say something.”

Jiang Jingheng suddenly stood up and said, ”I will take responsibility for this matter.”

Without waiting for the shareholders to speak, he turned and left.

The shareholders were furious, almost cursing.

”What the hell, is this something he can handle just by saying that he’s responsible?”

”I really don’t understand how the old man let him manage the company, isn’t this leading it down a dead end?”

”The illegitimate child is indeed not presentable, let’s see who will clean up this mess for him this time.”

...

In front of these shareholders full of complaints, Jiang Wenhui could only try to persuade them: ”Things will get sorted out eventually, uncles and aunts, please don’t panic.”

One of them grabbed Jiang Wenhui’s hand and said, ”Wenhui, if you were the president, this wouldn’t have happened.”

Jiang Wenhui showed a hint of embarrassment and said, ”Don’t joke with me.”

Another shareholder said, ”It’s not a joke; aren’t we about to hold a board meeting? By then, we’ll propose for you to be president.”

”That’s not possible.” Jiang Wenhui immediately said.

”There’s nothing impossible; all of us shareholders place our hope on you.”

Jiang Wenhui smiled and didn’t reply, following the shareholders out.

Afterwards, she went directly to Jiang Jingheng’s office.

She spoke earnestly: ”Jing Heng, think carefully about how to resolve this matter. The shareholders are really angry this time; you should temper your attitude and properly apologize to them.”

Jiang Jingheng flipped through the files in his hand without even lifting his eyelids, let alone responding to her.

Jiang Wenhui frowned and continued, ”At a time like this, can’t you be serious? Just now, the shareholders were saying they want to replace you at a board meeting next time.”

”Isn’t that exactly what you want?” Jiang Jingheng said indifferently.

Jiang Wenhui froze for a moment, then said, ”Jing Heng, you’ve misunderstood me; I have never had such thoughts.”

”Is it that you haven’t, or you don’t dare, or you don’t dare to let it be known?” Jiang Jingheng retorted, closing the file and looking up at her.

Facing his light brown eyes, Jiang Wenhui replied coldly, ”I don’t know where you heard such rumors. Anyway, if you continue to be stubborn, I can’t stop you.”

Saying this, she turned and walked out.

Jiang Jingheng lowered his eyelids and continued looking at the files.

Leaving the president’s office, Jiang Wenhui received a phone call.

She glanced at the caller ID, didn’t answer immediately, and headed towards the stairs.

”It went smoothly; I won’t forget your kindness. I’ll treat you to dinner another day.”

Jiang Wenhui hung up the phone, stared at the notifications on her cellphone for a while, and then made a call to Song Cheng’an.

”Cheng An, come pick me up tonight; let’s have dinner together.”
