A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1474: Chapter 1464: Threat

Night fell, lighting up thousands of homes, the entire Beijing was enveloped by stars, shining brightly in the dark.

Inside the hotel suite, Kong Lizhen stood by the window, on the phone.

”Don’t worry, I’ll come back once things are settled here.”

”I know, I’ll bring her back.”

After hanging up the phone, Kong Lizhen let out a sigh; things were not as easy as she had said, as she still hadn’t revealed her true identity to her.

Yesterday, she slapped Zhuang Jiaoyang in the Zhuang Family, not because of reckless words, but because she didn’t want Mu Yan to act, but this raised suspicion instead.

This morning, when she said she’d leave the Zhuang Family, Mu Yan didn’t utter a word to stop her, his enthusiasm completely vanished.

She furrowed her brows, a sense of unease rising within her.

She walked over to the tea cabinet, poured herself a glass of water, took a sip, trying hard to calm herself down.

Just then, her phone rang.

She put down the glass, walked over to the bed, picked up the phone to see an unfamiliar number.

She furrowed her brow, preparing to hang up, but thought again, at this late hour, there shouldn’t be telemarketing calls, right? She clicked to answer, ”Hello, who is this?”

”Hello, Miss Kong.” A woman’s voice followed.

Kong Lizhen found the voice somewhat familiar, ”You are...”

The woman chuckled, ”Can’t you recognize my voice? Should I call you Miss Kong, or Miss Zhuang?”

Kong Lizhen’s face sunk, replying coldly, ”Liang Rong, why are you calling me?”

”Oh, so quick to admit you’re Zhuang Ning?” Liang Rong mocked.

Kong Lizhen walked to the window, pulled open the curtains, looking at the reflection of herself in the full-length window, her delicate face gleaming coldly, ”When have I ever not dared to admit my identity? But you, aren’t you afraid knowing my identity?”

”Afraid? Why should I be afraid?” Liang Rong sneered, ”I haven’t done anything bad.”

Kong Lizhen chuckled lightly, ”Liang Rong, oh Liang Rong, you’re as shameless as ever. If you had nothing on your conscience, would you be calling me now? If I were to tell Zhuang Shaoyang what you did to me before, how would he view you? You used your daughter’s death to gain his pity, you wouldn’t want to be cast aside so soon, would you?”

”Shut up!” Liang Rong suddenly snapped, ”Your mouth is as obnoxious as ever; go ahead, tell him, I dare you. If you do, by tomorrow you’ll be arranging your daughter’s funeral.”

”What did you say?” Kong Lizhen’s expression shifted slightly.

”I know you love your daughter; do as I say, and I’ll return her to you. I, too, recently lost a daughter; I understand the pain more than you.”

Kong Lizhen sneered coldly, ”Are you threatening me? Do you think I’ll believe you? Yanyan is perfectly fine at the Zhuang Family, would you dare go there to take someone?”

”If she were a child, she might stay forever at Zhuang Family, but she’s an adult. Adults have social life, young girls like to shop and eat; your daughter is no exception.”

Kong Lizhen felt a stab of dread, sensing trouble. She hung up on Liang Rong and immediately called the Zhuang Family.

Soon, the Zhuang Family answered, it was Ruan Xinyu.

”Hello, may I ask who is this?”

Kong Lizhen asked urgently, ”Sister-in-law, is Yanyan home?”
