A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1491: Chapter 1481: No News

Kong Lizhen saw her panic and immediately stopped her, ”Yanyan, don’t worry. If something had happened to him, the Jiang Family wouldn’t be so calm. You would have been notified already. I’ve also had someone specifically keeping an eye on the Jiang Family, and there’s nothing unusual at the moment. Don’t worry.”

”Mom, I can’t live without him.” Mu Yan looked at her, tears streaming down her face.

Yesterday, she gave up searching for him, not because she didn’t want to find him, but because she was afraid that if she continued, he would keep stalling with her. Only if she left would he go and take care of his injuries properly.

”Mom knows, he won’t be in trouble, don’t cry.” Kong Lizhen comforted her, ”I’ll have someone check again.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded.

Kong Lizhen raised her hand to wipe the tears from the corner of her eye and said, ”Good girl, do you want to sleep a bit more?”

Mu Yan shook her head, ”I don’t want to sleep.”

”Alright then, wash up first, and after you’re done, we’ll go have breakfast.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded and went to the bathroom.

Kong Lizhen watched her back, sighed, and thought to herself how she didn’t want her daughter to devote all her thoughts to one man. She was afraid that if something changed, her daughter wouldn’t be able to handle it.

However, her own marriage’s failure didn’t mean her daughter’s would fail too, after all, her daughter isn’t her, and Jiang Jingheng isn’t Zhuang Shaoyang.

Mu Yan came out after washing up, and coincidentally the breakfast was delivered.

”Yanyan, come have breakfast.” Kong Lizhen served her some congee.

Mu Yan sat across from her, took the bowl of congee, and lost her appetite instantly as she looked at the bland porridge, though she didn’t voice it.

”Have some congee first to warm your stomach, then eat something else.” Kong Lizhen also sat down.

Mu Yan took a sip of the congee, her brow furrowed subtly. It was too bland for her, and she didn’t want to take another sip.

Kong Lizhen didn’t notice her discomfort and offered her a piece of sausage.

”Your aunt called this morning; your grandmother misses you a lot. I’ll take you back to see her later.”

Mu Yan nodded, ”Okay.”

”The elderly want their children and grandchildren nearby. If possible, spend more time with her.” Kong Lizhen said.

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded again.

She glanced at Kong Lizhen and asked, ”Mom, when you divorced Zhuang Shaoyang, grandma sided with her son and accepted Liang Rong and her daughter. Did you resent her for that?”

”What’s there to resent?” Kong Lizhen said calmly, ”If I were in her shoes, I would also side with my child. My issues with Zhuang Shaoyang have nothing to do with her. Plus, she raised me for so many years, and that kindness can’t be offset by anything else.”

”Okay.” Mu Yan nodded, agreeing with her words.

After all, those are things of the past, and she and her mother have long ceased to care about Zhuang Shaoyang, so it’s irrelevant now.

After forcing herself to eat a bit, Mu Yan put down her chopsticks and picked up her phone to make a call.

Unable to reach Jiang Jingheng, Mu Yan called Lian Jun instead.

When Lian Jun answered, she asked, ”Lian Jun, do you know where Jing Heng is?”

”You say he hasn’t been to the company these past few days. So you don’t know where he is either?” Mu Yan’s expression changed slightly, but on second thought, it made sense. That day, his attire clearly indicated he didn’t want to be recognized.

That night, she had said such words to him; he must have been very hurt.

No one understands how much he likes her better than she does.

”Can you help me find him?”

”I have something urgent. To be precise, he might be injured. If you have any news about him, you must let me know.”

Mu Yan hung up the phone, her worries accumulating in her expression.

She scrolled through her phone contacts, paused for a moment when she saw Jiang Wenhui’s number, but finally decided not to call.
