Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2535: Chapter 2535: Was It An Cheng?

Old Lady An also came to her senses, taking the clothes from An Que’s hands, thinking that she must take charge of this family again; otherwise, they’re all going to get out of hand.

Last night, as well, she could have snatched the land deed from the Chief’s hands, but her two sons at home insisted on dragging her back.

This made her end up with nothing, leaving her so angry that she couldn’t sleep all night.

And those books that were burned, so much silver down the drain, just thinking about it makes her heartache, her temples are still throbbing even now.

“You haven’t slept all night, have you? Go take a nap first, I’ll make something delicious for you when grandma gets back.” Although she was angry, she still smiled kindly at her grandson.

“Alright, then I’ll go sleep for a while.”

An Que didn’t refuse, thinking after everything that happened all night, he was really exhausted, he needed a good sleep.

With that, he turned and went back to his room, ready to sleep.

But as soon as he entered the room, he sensed that something was wrong; his entire bookshelf was empty, nothing left. Those were books he had spent many years acquiring, some even copied by hand at the study room.

Each one cost him silver or effort, how could they suddenly be gone?

“Grandma, grandma, where are the books on my bookshelf?”

He rushed out in panic, asking the people in the courtyard.

But at this moment, there was no one in the courtyard. Old Lady An had gone out to wash clothes for her grandson, leaving only the pile of ashes from last night’s fire and the books that weren’t completely burned, now ruined by water.

“My books, how did my books… become like this?”

When he had rushed into the courtyard earlier, he was too panicked to notice the other things there. Now seeing it, that pile of ashes in the courtyard, what else could it be but his books?

Just then, Second Elder An also got up and came out of his room.

“Second Uncle, what happened to my books, how did they burn like this, who did it? Was it An Cheng?”

He knew that Second Uncle’s eldest son, An Cheng, was especially jealous of his opportunity to study, always sneaking into his room to rummage through his books whenever he got the chance.

He had caught him more times than he could count and scolded him repeatedly to no avail.

Now it turns out that, taking advantage of his absence, he secretly burned his books, this was tantamount to taking his life!

These books included several rare copies that he had copied by heart while reading at the academy, a single book would take him several months to finish copying.

These books were collected by the academy headmaster, ordinary people couldn’t even see them if they wanted to. He himself was trusted by the headmaster because he was from An Clan Village, and thus got to see those books.

And now they’ve been burned to nothing?

He was planning to take these rare copies with him to the capital, to establish himself there with them.

Now there’s nothing left, how could he not hate this, at this moment he wished he could swallow An Cheng whole!

“Does An Cheng just not want me to do well? Do you know how much effort I put into acquiring these books, each of them is a treasure, a treasure!”

“Que’er, what nonsense are you talking about?”

Second Elder An, just waking up, was startled by his nephew’s nonsensical words.
