Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2177: Chapter 2177: Couldn’t Touch Him at All

Hearing this, Emperor Zhong once again gave Eunuch He a glare.

Was he the kind of person to take such trivial matters to heart? These two people would throw tantrums at him at the drop of a hat, and it was already quite generous of him not to have executed them.

“What’s this prattle? Even if it takes tying them up, bring them to me. They dare to defy my imperial edict; tell them, if they do not come to the palace, I will execute their entire nine clans!”

“Uh.”

Eunuch He choked, also startled.

His Majesty was indeed capable of doing such things.

“Your Majesty, your servant will convey your decree immediately.”

…

Outside the palace, Eunuch He was fully aware that if he didn’t personally step up for this task, there was no way he could summon the two officials into the palace, so he had to go himself.

But as soon as he stepped out of the palace gate, he saw a sedan chair stopped right in front of him.

“Eunuch He, what brings you out of the palace today?”

The curtain of the sedan chair was pulled back, revealing a chilling face that made Eunuch He shudder.

“Your servant pays his respects to Ninth Prince.”

Eunuch He quickly paid homage. The Ninth Prince was the Emperor’s own younger brother, born of the same Consort Wen, but the Ninth Prince and Emperor had been arch-enemies since childhood.

For many years, Emperor Zhong had been trying to get rid of Ninth Prince.

Regrettably, even now that he had become the Emperor of Central Imperial Country, he still couldn’t take down this younger brother, because the Ninth Prince controlled an army of five hundred thousand and more than half of the country’s power.

During the War of the Nine Kingdoms, the Ninth Prince’s five hundred thousand strong army did not move a single soldier, despite the Emperor issuing eighteen imperial edicts for the Ninth Prince to send troops, which were all ignored.

As a result, the grudge between the two had deepened with time, and up to this day, Emperor continued trying to thwart Ninth Prince at every turn.

Unfortunately, the Ninth Prince was shrewd and astute. No matter what impediments the Emperor put in his way, he was unaffected.

“In response to Ninth Prince’s question, His Majesty has summoned Minister of State Official Liu and the Prime Minister to the palace for discussions.”

He respectfully replied, knowing that failing to answer Ninth Prince’s question might very well prompt a demonstration of his abilities to snap a person’s neck right there and then.

That was a risk he couldn’t afford to take; he wasn’t tired of living yet and had no wish to ‘move his head to a new home’.

“Heh.”

Upon hearing Eunuch He’s words, Ninth Prince let out a scornful laugh.

“Is His Majesty in a particularly good mood today? Or is it exceptionally bad, that he has suddenly remembered he has a Minister of State and a Prime Minister as his subjects? How odd indeed.”

He said mockingly.

Isn’t it strange? Would Emperor think to concern himself with Official Liu, confined to the dungeons, if there wasn’t an issue at hand?

Did he ever consider how old Official Liu was, and what might happen to him after days locked away? These were things the Emperor had not thought of at all.

He only knew that since Official Liu had countered his words, he deserved to be thrown into the dungeons.

“Ninth Prince, your words… ahahaha, ahaha.”

Eunuch He dared not criticize Ninth Prince and could only use a nervous laugh to express his emotions at the moment.

After all, it was an order from His Majesty; what could he do? A mere eunuch, he only had to do as the Emperor commanded—thinking or doing more than that was asking for death.

“Your servant still carries the Emperor’s order and must take leave first, Ninth Prince.”

“Go on.”

Ninth Prince waved his hand dismissively at Eunuch He.

Once Eunuch He had left, he turned to a guard beside him to give further instructions.
