Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2157: Chapter 2157: Beikun Kingdom, Beyond Salvation

“I don’t think so,” the State Knight shrugged.

“This Emperor is truly becoming more and more outrageous. How can he act like this? I’m afraid the issue with the Yiinn Family won’t end well this time.”

He believed that the news coming from the Yiinn Family was true; those people might indeed be the ones led by High Priest Demon Heart.

If that were truly the case, would Beikun Kingdom still exist?

“We should have foreseen this consequence the moment the Emperor set his sights on the Yiinn Family,” State Scholar Qing remarked.

He had tried to advise against it to no avail. But this outcome was something everyone should have expected. With the Yiinn Family targeted, wouldn’t Demon Heart Hall seek justice on their behalf?

“We need to think about what to do next.”

The State Knight asked in a low voice; they truly did not know what would be the best course of action now.

“I really encountered them last night. Although those people escaped, judging by their skills, they are the secret guards,” he said with absolute certainty.

The esteemed secret guards of the Beikun Kingdom, yet they were doing such deeds at night, snatching children off the streets.

“Had I not acted promptly, those three children would have been taken away.”

He hadn’t pursued those secret guards because he needed to save the children. Otherwise, given his temperament, he would have certainly beaten the culprits to death.

Because last night, after he discovered those secret guards, they had injured the three children to ensure their own escape.

Internal injuries, severe and lethal if not promptly tended to—they must have counted on him focusing on saving the children, allowing them to escape. That must have been why they did it.

Utterly heartless and mad—beyond any hope of redemption.

Hearing his words, the gaze of State Scholar Qing also darkened, and he heaved a soft sigh.

“Beikun Kingdom is beyond salvation,” he said.

He had entered the Beikun Imperial Palace and became a State Knight during the Late Emperor’s reign, originally intending to dedicate himself entirely to the Beikun Kingdom, until death.

He could never have anticipated that Beikun Kingdom would fall into the hands of such a tyrannical and unscrupulous Emperor.

“I just don’t know what High Priest Demon Heart will do next. I hope the common folk won’t suffer the scourge of war,” he said. His only hope was that the people would not suffer.

The war two years ago had not yet been recovered from, and Beikun Kingdom was still desolate, almost devoid of vitality.

If war were to erupt again, how would the common people live?

“After all, we are only State Knights. Although we can refuse tasks issued by the Emperor, we cannot interfere with his actions,” said the State Knight, helpless.

And those who wanted to advise the Emperor, seeking to spare Beikun Kingdom from the horrors of war—Third Prince, Fifth Prince—had all been killed by the Emperor.

The rest were of the same ilk as the Emperor.

It’s a shame that within the entire royal family, there was not a single one who could take over the Emperor’s throne.

And those major clans in the capital, which one of them wasn’t committing heaven-defying and inhumane deeds for their own benefit? As far as they knew, there were many.

Unfortunately, the Emperor didn’t care about these matters.

“Let’s wait and see. The Emperor will most likely seek us out again,” said State Scholar Qing.

If his goals were unmet, how could the Emperor be content? He would certainly summon them to the palace again; after all, in the Emperor’s mind, other than them—the State Knights—who else could contend with those who wiped out Gui Ting Manor overnight?
