Chapter 2162: Chapter 2162: Beikun Kingdom, Has Reached Its End Too

The Emperor of Beikun watched his own State Knights betray him, so furious he could hardly stand it.

Yet, the pain on his body persisted, as the relentless beatings from those two had not ceased; besides wailing, he was unable to utter any other sounds.

“High Priest Demon Heart, might we have a word?” State Scholar Qing looked towards An Jiuyue and Qian Jiyun, asking.

He knew, having been to Wulong Mountain, that although there was no news of High Priest Demon Heart, he also knew that the High Priest Demon Heart had always been a sister-in-law.

Hearing his words, An Jiuyue raised her eyebrows slightly.

“Yuu Rong, Yi Kun, stop.”

She commanded Yuu Rong and the other to halt their battery.

During her time at the Yiinn Family, she had heard the Head of the Yiinn Family mentioning that each country in the Plant Plane had different State Knights; it seems that the one before her should be the foremost State Knight of the Beikun Kingdom.

“State Scholar Qing, make haste and kill them all for Us!”

As soon as the Emperor of Beikun had a chance to catch his breath, he ordered State Scholar Qing, who was so close to that woman, now was the perfect opportunity for a lethal attack!

State Scholar Qing: “…”

How did he end up so unlucky to be stuck with such an Emperor?

But fortunately, he had no intention of continuing to do anything more for an Emperor unworthy of his loyalty.

“Your Majesty, you should stop speaking.”

Turning around, he looked at the Emperor of Beikun; his eyes no longer held the respect they once did for the Emperor.

The previous Emperor of Beikun indeed deserved their reverence; he turned Beikun Kingdom, originally not powerful, into the leading superpower of the Plant Plane.

But now, look at what the current Emperor of Beikun has done.

Even the strongest of kingdoms could not withstand the devastation of a foolish and incompetent Emperor; the Beikun Kingdom had reached its end.

“From today onwards, we State Knights will no longer serve the Beikun Kingdom,” he said to the Emperor of Beikun with grave formality.

“You intend to betray the Beikun Kingdom!”

The Emperor of Beikun heard his words and his eyebrows contorted in anger.

Is this what his State Knights of the Beikun Kingdom come to? Betraying the kingdom at the first sign of trouble!

“Do not forget, over the years, it’s the Beikun Kingdom that has exhausted its wealth to support your cultivation. Otherwise, your cultivation levels would never have increased!”

He roared at State Scholar Qing.

Ungrateful wretches, everything he spent on these State Knights over the years was wasted, as good as fed to dogs.

“Emperor of Beikun, you’ve indeed given us State Knights quite a bit during your reign, but those resources have all been spent on the common people. If not for this, the people of Beikun Kingdom would have revolted long ago!”

State Scholar Qing looked sternly at the Emperor of Beikun, speaking word by word.

He admitted that during the previous Emperor’s reign, they as State Knights did indeed spend a great deal from the Beikun Kingdom’s treasury, but that was conditional.

They protected the Beikun Kingdom and its people, and in turn, the Beikun Kingdom supported them; the relationship between the two had always been fair.

But these years, since the current Emperor took the throne, he’s misruled Beikun Kingdom into utter chaos. Not only have they spent the wealth accumulated in these recent years, but they’ve also spent what was saved from previous years.

He didn’t feel he had done anything amiss.

Furthermore, he had calculated that if they allowed the Emperor of Beikun to continue his reckless governance, even if they had the will to protect the people of the Beikun Kingdom, they would no longer have the strength to do so.

Rather than continue in this vein, it would be better to reorganize Beikun Kingdom, allowing the people to live some peaceful days instead.
