Chapter 2170: Chapter 2170: Betraying the Beikun Kingdom, Betraying His Majesty

They were just trying to make a living, never imagining that within the Beikun Imperial Palace, there would be someone daring enough to lay hands on the Emperor of Beikun.

“Chief, what should we do now? Should we save His Majesty?”

Indeed, a simple and naive Imperial Guard, who had stumbled next to the Chief of the Imperial Guards, weakly asked.

They are the Imperial Guards of the Beikun Imperial Palace, aren’t they? They are responsible for the safety of the Emperor of Beikun, aren’t they? Now that someone has held a knife to the Emperor of Beikun’s neck, even cutting off his tongue, what should they do?

Should they save him, or should they not?

If they do save him, everyone knows, even if they manage to save him, who would respect an Emperor who can no longer speak?

But if they don’t save him…

The person in front of them, whose tongue was cut off, is still their Emperor of Beikun; how can they justify not saving him? The consequences of cowardice are too great for them to bear.

If the Emperor of Beikun dies, wouldn’t these Imperial Guards who failed to save him face execution as well?

The Chief of the Imperial Guards turned his head and glanced at the guard.

He indeed wanted to save him, but how? Several State Knights were there, and the person who cut off the tongue of the Emperor of Beikun didn’t seem easy to handle either.

Rushing forward, are they going to save someone or simply go to their deaths? That is the real dilemma!

“State Knights, what are you doing? Watching His Majesty being injured, don’t you have any reaction?” Not daring to move forward himself, he could only shout at the State Knights.

Upon hearing his words, the State Knights all raised their eyebrows.

“How can you say we didn’t react?”

One of the State Knights, glancing at the Emperor of Beikun, retorted.

“I think His Majesty’s tongue is really useless, cutting it off is quite good, it saves him from causing trouble everywhere with his mouth,” he snorted dismissively.

Indeed, the Emperor of Beikun had used his orders, one after another, to bring the kingdom to its current dire state.

If his tongue were gone, all the common people of the world would thank Yuu Rong for this act of severance.

“His Majesty’s tongue was useless anyway, cutting it off makes no difference,” another State Knight said rudely, and after speaking, he even gave the Emperor of Beikun a disdainful glance.

Due to the Emperor of Beikun imposing tyranny on the people, all his wealth had dissipated, not even enough to afford a few meals of porridge for the people of Beikun Kingdom.

He was indeed furious inside; this Emperor of Beikun is really worthless!

“There is still a difference, cutting it off is good, it also saves him from spouting more venomous orders, continuing like this, the people of Beikun Kingdom would have rebelled.”

Indeed, if the Emperor of Beikun continued this way, the people of Beikun Kingdom would pack up and seek a living in other countries.

“You… you are all State Knights of the Beikun Kingdom, revered by the people of Beikun Kingdom, fed by His Majesty, how can you betray the Beikun Kingdom, betray His Majesty?”

The Chief of the Imperial Guards gritted his teeth, asking.

He himself was finding it difficult to continue speaking.

Whether these State Knights betrayed the people, he knew well internally; had he not been promoted by His Majesty, he might have also turned his back.

The common people were indeed impoverished and starving.

“What’s all the fuss about? Want to fight?” Yuu Rong didn’t care about these people, hands on his hips.

He himself dared not act, only wanted to incite the State Knights to take action, a very cunning move, but did the Chief of the Imperial Guards think the State Knights were fools?
