Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 941: Chapter 984: The Past

Going upstairs and into the study, Yan Qinghan sprawled leisurely on the sofa as if it were his own home, stretching his long legs on the sofa’s armrest, swinging them relaxedly.

Ye Anxin paid him no mind, only giving him a brief glance. When Mu Beiting came in, she finally closed the door to the study.

To chat comfortably with Yan Qinghan, Ye Anxin specifically pulled up a stool and sat by his side, looking intently at his face.

Under Ye Anxin’s unabashed gaze, Yan Qinghan grinned, ”Sis-in-law, don’t look at me like that. Watch out, your uncle might get jealous! You’re here to ask me about the situation, right? Just ask, and I’ll tell you everything I know without reservation!”

Ye Anxin cut straight to the point, ”I’ve seen the video. Was it recorded seven years ago at Li Lin’s birthday party? What exactly happened that night? What tricks were you playing?”

Yan Qinghan replied nonchalantly, ”Oh, the video’s quite clear on what happened, isn’t it? Speaking of which, you, your uncle, Ling Yueyue, and Huo Junmo should thank me and Gu Xingchen! Without us, how could you have come together!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin could not help but twitch the corners of her mouth, ”I’ve misunderstood the uncle for so long, and I should thank you? If it weren’t for Gu Xingchen assisting Li Lin and Su Yuexin, this would never have happened!”

”Sis-in-law, that’s where you’re wrong. Even without Gu Xingchen’s help for Li Lin and Su Yuexin, do you think they wouldn’t have sent you to Junmo’s room? We were merely playing along with their plan! Without Gu Xingchen and me, Su Yuexin and Li Lin would’ve broken you up long ago. You wouldn’t have this happy and carefree life with Mu Beiting now!” Yan Qinghan kept teasing, refusing to reveal what exactly happened seven years ago.

Sitting behind the desk, Mu Beiting furrowed his brows tightly, his face expressionless as he said, ”Either spill it or get out!”

”Look at your attitude! After helping you two so much with your marriage and gifting you this huge wedding gift, you treat me like this! You really wound my heart!” He clasped his hands over his left chest, feigning an expression of heartache.

Seeing Yan Qinghan beating around the bush, Ye Anxin helplessly pleaded gently, ”Mr. Yan, consider this my request; please tell me what happened that night. How did you and Gu Xingchen suddenly appear and put on that act? Since you’ve come today, you must be ready to tell me. So please do, don’t make me guess wildly anymore!”

”Sigh...,” Yan Qinghan sighed deeply, sitting up from the sofa and speaking slowly, ”Here’s how it happened: seven years ago, Gu Xingchen and I were at that hotel doing business with Huo Junmo. Su Yuexin only knew Junmo was going to be at the hotel but didn’t realize we were there too. During a break, I overheard Li Lin making a call in the corridor and stopped to listen secretly when I caught your name. Li Lin was talking to Su Yuexin about getting you drunk and sending you to the presidential suite upstairs for Huo Junmo. Su Yuexin over the phone said it was all arranged as long as they got you drunk. After Li Lin returned to the private room, I sneaked a peek through the transparent glass on the door; indeed, it was you, Sis-in-law! I returned to Gu Xingchen and shared everything discreetly with him. After a quick discussion, we decided to test Mu Beiting.”

Ye Anxin was taken aback and asked, confused, ”Test Uncle on what?”

Yan Qinghan sighed again and explained, ”Sis-in-law, you know your uncle has a severe cleanliness obsession. He loved Ruan Zhitong, but broke up with her immediately because she was involved with another man, deeming it filthy. So... Gu Xingchen and I wanted to see if your uncle would abandon you for being unchaste. Hence, we planned for Gu Xingchen to assist once Su Yuexin and Li Lin sent you to the presidential suite, while I took care of other matters.”

Hearing this, Mu Beiting’s eyes suddenly sharpened, squinting slightly.

”Your task was to lure Uncle out?” The words were clear at this point, and if she couldn’t guess, she’d really be quite clueless.

Yan Qinghan nodded and continued, ”Indeed! Mu Beiting had a video meeting that day, and when I called him, he didn’t answer. So I texted him, alerting him you were in danger and told him to meet me in my room. Coincidentally, he believed me because after reading my message, he called you multiple times but you didn’t answer, so he rushed over!”

”The calls...?” Ye Anxin was puzzled, recalling carefully.

She could not remember Uncle calling her at all! She had not heard the phone ring.

Unless... Unless...!

Unless the call occurred while they were singing karaoke, with the room so noisy and full of people, she hadn’t heard the ringtone.

Yan Qinghan continued, ”Before Mu Beiting arrived, I went to nearby pharmacies to buy small doses of sleeping pills and a large amount of *******. Before Mu Beiting arrived, I secretly spiked the alcohol with sedatives for Huo Junmo and Mu Beiting. After they drank, they fell unconscious! Once they were out, I kept watch over them while Xingchen kept an eye on Su Yuexin and Li Lin. When your classmates were all drunk and passed out, Su Yuexin showed up; she and Li Lin teamed up to carry you to the presidential suite. Unfortunately, they were too stupid to realize a five-star hotel has cameras everywhere; completing their plan was impossible. Firstly, hotel surveillance was a hurdle they couldn’t pass; secondly, Huo Junmo is always vigilant and keeps clean, ever since his wife died, he hasn’t touched another woman, not even if she was sent to his bed; success was impossible for their plan. So Xingchen appeared to help them out! He first placed you in the suite intended for Huo Junmo, then I administered ******* to Huo Junmo and had his assistant carry him to the presidential suite. I even advised his assistant that a woman was arranged in the room to serve him. We’ve always been tight with them, so the assistant didn’t suspect anything. So, seeing you in bed didn’t raise alarms for him, he simply left after dropping Junmo off!”
