Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 927: Chapter 970: Shy

When Ye Anxin appeared at Nan Mingchuan’s guestroom door holding little Chu Yi, Nan Mingchuan’s attention was immediately caught by the little Chu Yi in her arms!

Nan Mingchuan excitedly asked, ”Anxin, is this... is this my granddaughter?”

Ye Anxin nodded with a smile, ”Yes! When you and Aunt left, she hadn’t been born yet!”

Looking at the little Chu Yi who squinted her eyes and giggled at him, Nan Mingchuan seemed to be touched deep down, somewhat embarrassed, he asked, ”Anxin, does she recognize people? Can I hold her?”

”She is a bit selective, she only lets familiar people hold her, or those she is fated with! If she likes someone at first sight, she will allow them to hold her too! Dad, you can try!” Saying this, she handed little Chu Yi over to Nan Mingchuan.

Strangely, little Chu Yi not only didn’t cry or fuss in Nan Mingchuan’s arms, she also used her chubby little hands to touch his face.

Seeing how little Chu Yi seemed to really like Nan Mingchuan, Ye Anxin laughed and said, ”Dad, it seems that little Chu Yi quite likes you!”

Little Chu Yi’s actions and Ye Anxin’s words made Nan Mingchuan’s heart fill with joy, he couldn’t help but raise his chin proudly, ”Of course, she is my granddaughter, she has a quarter of my blood, this is the emotional connection between family members!”

To Nan Mingchuan’s words, Ye Anxin just covered her mouth and laughed slightly, saying nothing!

Noticing that Anxin was still standing at the door, Nan Mingchuan suddenly came to his senses, hurriedly and awkwardly said, ”Oh dear, look at my memory, I forgot and kept you standing at the door, I’m really sorry! Anxin, come in and have a seat!” Saying this, he turned sideways, making way for Ye Anxin.

Ye Anxin nodded, walked into the guestroom, and sat down on the sofa!

Nan Mingchuan closed the door, came in, sat beside Ye Anxin, while playing with little Chu Yi in his arms, he said to Ye Anxin, ”Anxin, it’s inconvenient to hold little Chu Yi, there is tea on the coffee table in front of the sofa, treat this as your own home, feel free to pour yourself some water!”

Ye Anxin said indifferently, ”Dad, it’s us, no need to be so polite!”

”Hmm!” Nan Mingchuan nodded! At this moment, all his attention was on little Chu Yi in his arms!

Although he had two daughters in his lifetime, his eldest daughter passed away early, and his eldest grandson, Huo Jiantian, lived with his father! They lived in different cities, one in Du City, the other in Jin City, so they didn’t interact much, and Huo Jiantian hardly had any emotional connection with them!

As for Xiao Bai, even more so, he had no emotional connection with him at all!

But little Chu Yi was completely different! Little Chu Yi’s smile was exactly like Anxin’s, so warm and sweet! Just seeing her smile seemed to make all troubles disappear!

The crucial thing was, since little Chu Yi was born, he had never seen her before! Yet she wanted him to hold her and even touched him!

This feeling was something he couldn’t feel with the other two grandchildren!

So, this was also the first time he felt what it was like to be a grandfather!

Seeing Nan Mingchuan smile so widely at little Chu Yi that his eyes turned into slits, Ye Anxin genuinely smiled and said, ”Dad, since you’re back, I want to return the Nanshang Group to you! You initially left because of immigration, so I took over Nanshang Group! Now that you’re back, there’s no need for me to continue as the nominal president of Nanshang Group!”

Upon hearing this, Nan Mingchuan shook his head, ”No! I’m old now, I just want to enjoy my remaining years peacefully, I don’t want to fight in the business world anymore! Since Nanshang Group has been handed over to you, you should keep it! After all, you’re my only daughter, Nanshang Group will end up in your hands sooner or later! Instead of passing it back and forth, it’s better for you to manage it all along!”

Ye Anxin quickly replied, ”But, but I have no skills, I don’t know anything! It’s basically Uncle who manages everything inside and outside Nanshang Group!”

”You’re my daughter, Mu Beiting is my son-in-law, it’s the same whoever manages it!” Saying this, Nan Mingchuan finally shifted his gaze from little Chu Yi to Ye Anxin, sighed slightly, and said helplessly, ”Anxin, look, Dad is already quite old now, really old, I have the heart but not the strength for many things! Even if you return Nanshang Group to me, how many more years can I manage it? I’m now presbyopic and hard of hearing, totally incapable of managing such a large enterprise like Nanshang Group! My wish now is very simple, just to reconcile with your mother and live a simple and happy life for the rest of my days!”

”Dad...!” Ye Anxin called out in protest, attempting a final struggle.

Before Ye Anxin could speak, Nan Mingchuan interjected, ”Anxin, could it be that you want your Dad to not have a peaceful and steady life in his old age?”

Listening to Nan Mingchuan’s words, seeing the plea in his eyes, Ye Anxin felt all her words stuck in her throat, unable to speak! Indeed, in the past year, her father had aged a lot! He was almost sixty years old! At this age, he should really be enjoying life, if forced back into the business battlefield, he would have no heart to fight, in the end, he might even ruin his lifelong foundation!

Most importantly, her father was truly old, his face lined with wrinkles and weariness, and the white hair at his temples, Ye Anxin really couldn’t bear to force him, so she had to say, ”Alright! Since you say so, I’ll continue being the nominal president!”

”Hmm!” Seeing Ye Anxin finally agree, Nan Mingchuan sighed in relief, lowered his head, and continued to play with little Chu Yi.

At that moment, there was another knock on the guestroom door!

Nan Mingchuan and Ye Anxin exchanged glances, since Nan Mingchuan was holding the child, Ye Anxin stood up to open the door.

As the door opened, there stood Ye’s mother hesitantly outside! The expression that was still calm turned to panic the moment she saw Ye Anxin, her eyes flickered guiltily for a second, awkwardly she asked, ”Anxin, how come you’re here? When did you arrive?”

Ye Anxin curiously asked, ”Mom, how do you know Dad is staying at this hotel? And in this room?”

Blushing, looking down, Ye’s mother replied embarrassedly, ”I... I... Nan Mingchuan texted me last night to tell me!”

Upon hearing Ye’s mother’s voice, Nan Mingchuan immediately stood up holding little Chu Yi, quickly walked to the door, and seeing it was indeed Ye’s mother, he rejoiced and eagerly asked, ”Fang Chuo, did you come to see me? Have you thought it over and want to reconcile with me?”

”...!” Uncomfortable, Ye’s mother stood at the door, her hands nervously twisting the hem of her clothes, her gaze occasionally drifting over to Ye Anxin, her mouth repeating phrases silently, looking as if she had something to say but couldn’t find the words.

Seeing her mother’s expression, Ye Anxin understood, her mother was embarrassed and shy because she was present!
