Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 907: Chapter 950: Has He Really Let Go?

Pete said a whole lot in one breath—and all of it came from what he’d personally experienced lately.

Before, he really did look down on women. He felt men had it hard earning money outside, while women only needed to stay home, mind the kids, do some housework, and when they had free time, go work out, do some spa treatments.

It wasn’t until recently that he finally changed his view of women—he felt women were actually even more miserable than men.

Mu Beiting asked in puzzlement, ”What made you have this awakening?”

Pete grinned and explained, ”I have to thank you for that, President. If you hadn’t given me a week off last time and told me to take my wife and kid traveling to relax, I’d never have known women had it so hard. Before dawn they’re already up to buy breakfast and groceries. Once she brings breakfast back, the kid wakes up, and she has to feed the kid. After eating, she has to watch the kid and do the laundry at the same time, then cook lunch. Once lunch is done and everyone has eaten, while the rest of us nap, the woman has to use the kid’s nap time to tidy up the house and mop the floor. By the time she finally finishes all that, the kid wakes again, and she has to start all over—watch the kid while cooking dinner. After everyone’s eaten, she has to take the kid out for a walk, then come back and bathe the kid. Once the kid’s bathed, she bathes herself, and sometimes she still has to satisfy her husband’s needs. Basically from morning till night she doesn’t get a moment’s rest. So I think women at home really have it rough—much tougher than us men!”

Mu Beiting said lightly, ”Then you can help her with the kid and ease her burden.”

”Sigh, it’s embarrassing to say. Exactly because I leave early and come home late every day, and even on vacation I stay in the study working, from the kid’s birth till now, let alone taking care of him, I’ve barely even held him. So the kid’s very distant with me, he basically doesn’t let me touch him. I’m useless at housework too, the more I try to help the more I mess things up. I just turn everything into a complete disaster. So I have no ability to share my wife’s load. All I can do is sit to the side and watch her work—that’s already the biggest help I can give her.”

Mu Beiting raised a brow, half-smiling as he asked, ”Are you protesting against me? Saying I give you too much work?”

Thinking Mu Beiting had misunderstood him, Pete hurriedly waved his hands, anxious as he explained, ”No, no, no, that’s not what I mean. Don’t get me wrong, President. Being able to work for you, I’m genuinely very satisfied and very honored. Sometimes, it’s inevitable you can’t take care of both family and career. Now that I understand what my wife’s up against, when I’m on vacation at home I can start trying to share the load. I believe if I can do well at work, housework won’t defeat me either. If I don’t know how to do it, I can learn slowly.”

After hearing Pete’s words, Mu Beiting’s tightly pressed thin lips lifted slightly; in his gaze at Pete there was a touch of appreciation.

This appreciation was different from appreciating his work ability—it was another kind altogether.

There are people who, no matter how capable they are at work, if they can’t love their family, love their wife, and empathize with her, they don’t count as real men of ability.

Before, Pete was indeed capable and efficient; he had admired him.

But the two of them had also been the same type of person—men who could ignore everything for the sake of work.

Now that he himself had managed to become a ”normal” person, naturally he hoped Pete could become normal too.

Being stared at by Mu Beiting, Pete felt uncomfortable all over. He coughed lightly twice and said a bit awkwardly, ”Ahem, President, let’s get back to the main topic and talk business. Ruan Zhitong’s company in the United States may not be as big as Mu Group, but these years she’s managed it very well, its foundations are solid. If we want to move against her company, it’ll probably take some time. Ruan Zhitong is already dead—she’s paid for her sins. Are you still going to go after her company in the United States?”

Pete was very serious as he analyzed his mother’s situation for Mu Beiting.

You had to admit, Ruan Zhitong was truly capable. This whole time she’d been quietly managing her company in an orderly way. Such a good company, and overseas in the United States—if you really wanted to uproot it completely, it would be a bit of a hassle.

After all, Mu Group is huge, but its strength is limited to within the country; its development in the United States is nowhere near as good as Ruan Zhitong’s company. And Mu Group’s expansion in the United States has always relied on covert support from Ruan Zhitong’s company. For a company that has done you favors, to destroy it seems too ruthless. Most importantly, without Ruan Zhitong, that company probably won’t last long anyway. Rather than wasting time and resources making a big production out of targeting it, it’d be better to wait for it to collapse on its own.

Mu Beiting’s face was expressionless as he said blandly, ”No need. Let them be.”

”...!” Pete froze, looking at Mu Beiting in surprise.

What was with their President today? Why was he acting a bit out of character?

Before, no matter who it was, as long as they dared offend the President’s wife, the President would absolutely leave them no way to live—no mercy.

Just like Xie Yunlu and Su Yuexin, both ended up with their families destroyed because of Madam.

Yet towards Ruan Zhitong, who had secretly controlled Su Yuexin from behind the scenes, the President seemed unusually magnanimous.

Could it be the President still hasn’t completely gotten over Su Yuexin?

While Pete was still baffled, Mu Beiting spoke again, ”Ruan’s father is already dead, Ruan’s mother is just a woman who’s never done anything. And her brother is a spoiled playboy, good for nothing. Now that Ruan Zhitong is dead, that company won’t last long either. If, after Ruan Zhitong’s death, that company can still keep going, then let them—consider it their good fortune. If they don’t have the ability, we don’t even need to lift a finger, it’ll naturally head for extinction. Either way the result is the same, there’s no point wasting resources and money.”

Pete nodded, then asked, ”Got it. So how do we handle Ruan Zhitong’s body?”

Mu Beiting was silent for a moment before he said, ”Cremate it, then send it to the United States and hand it over to her mother.”

”Okay, I’ll have the people below take care of it right away.” Pete nodded, took out his phone, and called his subordinates to assign the task.

You had to say, the boss really did treat Ruan Zhitong differently from other women. At the very least, compared with all those other women, Ruan Zhitong’s ending was the best.

Six years ago, Xie Yunlu offended Madam and ended up a vegetable. After lying in bed for three years, she was declared brain dead. Several organs from her body were donated to others, and in the end she didn’t even leave a complete corpse.

Li Lin, needless to say, was thrown into the Huangpu River and drowned alive. By the time her body floated up and was discovered, it was completely deformed.

As for Su Yuexin, even more needless to say—she’s still locked up in prison, suffering inhuman treatment and torment every day, raving and deranged all the time, living a life worse than death.
