Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 285: Chapter 285: Becoming In-Laws

Seeing Su Yichen staring at her in a daze, Ye Anxin tentatively called out again, ”Professor Su?”

Su Yichen snapped back to reality and smiled, ”Ye, you’ve returned to school? How are you feeling?”

Actually, that question was quite subtle!

Although Ye Anxin took a leave of absence, telling others she was sick, only he knew she had a miscarriage!

Because he was always watching her, and he was the only one who knew she was pregnant!

After she took a leave, he specifically asked Ling Yueyue about it!

Thinking about her losing the child just like that, he felt heartache for her too! He thought she would need more time to recover, but she had returned to school so soon!

Ye Anxin’s small face turned slightly red, and she said softly, ”Yes! I’ve mostly recovered, and there’s nothing to do at home, so I came back to school!”

”Have a seat!” Su Yichen pointed to the chair in front of his desk, and after Ye Anxin sat down, he got up to pour her a glass of water.

Ye Anxin took the cup with both hands, took a sip, and then asked, ”Professor Su, everyone knows you’re leaving, so they’ve arranged a farewell party for you! When would you have time so we can book a place?”

Su Yichen sat back in his seat, looked at Ye Anxin intently, and asked with a deeper meaning, ”Are you going?”

Ye Anxin nodded, speaking as if it was obvious, ”Of course I’m going! Professor Su, you were so nice to me before, now that you’re leaving, I naturally have to see you off!”

Su Yichen’s eyes flickered slightly, and he said with a smile, ”Great! Since you’re going, I’ll go! In three days, I’ll be handing over to the new professor, so I’ll have time after school that afternoon!”

”Great! In that case, I’ll tell the others, and let’s set the time for three days later!” Saying that, Ye Anxin stood up, ready to leave.

Just as she took two steps, Su Yichen called her, ”Ye!”

”Yes!” Ye Anxin stopped in her tracks, turned around, and looked at him puzzled.

Su Yichen moved his lips, thought for a moment, then mustered up the courage to smile and say, ”Remember, you have to come to the farewell party in three days! I have something to tell you!”

Ye Anxin nodded firmly, ”Don’t worry, Professor Su, I’ll definitely be there!”

”Alright!” Su Yichen nodded, and only then did Ye Anxin leave the office.

As he watched the office door close, Su Yichen’s eyes dimmed slightly, and he let out a heavy sigh.

At this moment, aside from heartache and compassion, he felt more determination.

Since he had made this decision, he had to see it through.

......

After school, Ye Anxin returned to the villa, pondering all day about how to tell Mu Beiting about the farewell party.

But even until bedtime, Mu Beiting hadn’t come back!

The next day, when she woke up, Mu Beiting was already gone!

Except for Mu Beiting’s unique scent, which confirmed he had come back, she would’ve thought he hadn’t returned all night.

Ye Anxin washed up, changed, and went downstairs, where the butler had already prepared breakfast.

Ye Anxin hurriedly asked the butler, ”Butler, what time did uncle leave this morning?”

Without thinking, the butler replied, ”He left at five o’clock!”

”Oh!” Ye Anxin responded, unable to hide her disappointment.

Noticing her expression and guessing she might be feeling down, the butler quickly explained, ”Madam, at this time every year, sir is especially busy! Usually, he leaves early and comes back late! In the past, he would be on business trips four days a week! It’s better this year! Once he’s through this busy period, he’ll have time to spend with you!”

Ye Anxin knew the butler misunderstood her, so she quickly smiled and said, ”I know uncle is busy! I just have something to tell him, but I’m afraid of bothering him!”

The butler said, ”If madam has something to say, I can pass it on when I see him. Or you could call him, madam. He will definitely answer your call!”

Ye Anxin thought for a while, then shook her head, declining, ”No need, it’s not a big deal!”

With uncle being so busy now, it’s indeed not appropriate to bother him about the small matter of the farewell party!

It’s just a farewell party, anyway. By the time she comes back from it, uncle might not have returned yet! She decided not to tell uncle, to avoid worrying him!

Thinking of this, Ye Anxin felt suddenly enlightened, smiled, and said, ”Butler, it’s nothing! You don’t need to tell uncle! I’ll have breakfast and then head to school!”

”Alright! I’ll get it ready for you!” The butler replied with a smile and quickly instructed the servants to serve breakfast for Ye Anxin.

Ye Anxin hastily finished her breakfast, packed her backpack with today’s textbooks, and rushed off to school.

......

Three days passed quickly!

During these three days, Ye Anxin rarely saw Mu Beiting! Apart from the familiar embrace at night, she almost couldn’t feel Mu Beiting’s presence.

Gradually, she never found the time to mention the farewell party to Mu Beiting.

That afternoon, after school, the students hailed taxis at the school gate, heading for their destination in groups.

Walking beside Ye Anxin, Su Yichen said meaningfully, ”Ye, your body has just recovered, let me drive you there! If you tire yourself out, it wouldn’t be good for your old ailment to relapse!”

Ye Anxin gladly nodded in agreement.

Ling Yueyue, holding onto Ye Anxin’s arm, smiled and said, ”Professor Su, let me hitch a ride too! I’m here with a big belly just to attend your farewell party!”

”Sure! You wait here, I’ll go get the car!” Su Yichen happily agreed, then asked Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue to wait at the school gate while he went to get the car.

Ye Anxin looked at Ling Yueyue’s round belly and a hint of melancholy flashed in her eyes, ”Yueyue, I didn’t expect you’d come too? Your belly is so big now!”

If her child were still around, it should be about this size!

Unfortunately, she wasn’t capable enough to protect her child!

At this moment, Ye Anxin felt like the scar she had been hiding deep inside was being uncovered, and it hurt!

Ling Yueyue, noticing her expression, put an arm around her shoulder, grinned, and said, ”Oh, it’s in the past, don’t think too much! Look, my belly is so big now, regardless of whether it’s a boy or a girl, they’ll call you godmother, alright?”

Hearing this, Ye Anxin’s eyes lit up, ”Really?”

Ling Yueyue patted her chest, exuberantly saying, ”Of course! We’re so close! But let me tell you, being a godmother isn’t so easy, you can’t skimp on the full-moon celebration money!”

Ye Anxin nodded repeatedly, readily agreeing, ”No problem! I promise to treat my godson and goddaughter well!”

Ling Yueyue patted Ye Anxin on the shoulder, saying with a smile, ”You’re still young, you’ll have your own kids in the future! Once you have kids, we can arrange a betrothal, keeping it all in the family!”
