Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 253: Chapter 253: The Old Problem Returns

”Okay, Mom, wait for me, I’ll be right back!” Without much thought, Ye Anxin stood up, picked up her textbook, and left hurriedly before class started.

Seeing her leave in a hurry, the four new transfer students exchanged a look.

Ye Anxin rushed out of the school gate, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for Longting Villa District.

Since the last time Uncle gave the Dragon Court Villa to her parents, her father moved in early the next morning, no matter how hard she tried to stop him!

And Uncle stubbornly refused to take back the villa!

With no other option, she couldn’t be bothered to intervene anymore! Let her father do whatever he wants!

Because of Uncle, she seldom went back there, only occasionally visiting her parents, sitting for a few hours before having to leave immediately, never staying overnight!

Everything had been calm for some time, so why, all of a sudden, did something happen again?

Forty minutes later, Ye Anxin appeared at the villa where Father Ye and Mother Ye lived.

The door was open, Mother Ye sat in the doorway, her face already blurred by tears.

”Mom, what’s wrong? Why are you sitting in the doorway?” Ye Anxin quickly walked over, squatting down to help Mother Ye up.

But Mother Ye refused to get up, and upon seeing Ye Anxin, she embraced her tightly, crying bitterly, ”Anxin, it’s Mom’s fault, Mom couldn’t stop your dad, Mom is useless!”

Hearing her mother say this, Ye Anxin became even more worried, ”Mom, what exactly happened?”

While crying, Ye Anxin sobbed and said, ”Your dad, your dad actually went and mortgaged the house deed! This is the house Mu Beiting gave us, how could he do this! Mom doesn’t care about this house, what Mom cares about is you! If Mu Beiting finds out about this, Mom is afraid he’ll look down on you! Once a woman is looked down upon by a man, she’ll never be able to hold her head up in front of him for a lifetime! Sob... It’s Mom’s fault!”

Ye Anxin asked bewilderedly, ”Mortgage the house? Why? Why would he mortgage the house for no reason? Doesn’t Uncle transfer you twenty thousand yuan to your account every month? Isn’t twenty thousand enough for him?”

Mother Ye wiped her nose, ”Why? Isn’t it because his old problem has relapsed! Not only did he mortgage the house, but the car Mu Beiting gave us was long sold by him!”

Ye Anxin gasped, ”Old problem, you mean gambling?”

”Yes! Ever since Mu Beiting gave us the villa, the car, and the golden card, your dad became idle again, doing nothing! With a house and money, he started having bad ideas again! I don’t know where he met a group of people who took him drinking, whoring, and gambling every day, all using the money Mu Beiting gave us! That’s okay, eat if you want, eventually, when the money is gone, you’ll go hungry! But, he actually got addicted to gambling again! In just one month, he lost all the money, sold the car! And not only that, he’s in deep debt again! Just now, he wanted to mortgage the house deed, I couldn’t stop him, so I had to call you! Sob... What sin have I committed to marry such a worthless man! I’ve implicated you, harmed you!” Mother Ye cried sorrowfully, with tears and snot running down her face!

Seeing her mother cry so hard, Ye Anxin felt a pain in her heart too.

She knew all too well about her father’s gambling addiction.

Since she was little, it was because her father loved to gamble, accumulating a mountain of high-interest loans! Since she could remember, they kept moving houses because only by moving could they avoid the debt collectors!

It was also because of her father’s gambling that she worked at a young age, but even so, she couldn’t even repay the principal interest of the high-interest loans.

Once, her father even almost sold her to pay off debts.

If not for her mother’s desperate intervention, she might not have been the current Ye Anxin.

That was her childhood, a childhood devoid of any innocence!

Later, once her father was chased by loan sharks, almost getting his leg broken! Only then did he feel scared, slowly giving up this bad habit.

And then, she met Mu Rufeng!

Because Mu Rufeng secretly helped her father clear the huge gambling debt, she had no option but to agree to be his girlfriend.

And at that time, she was not yet eighteen!

She thought her father had truly changed for the better! She never expected his old habit would relapse!

Heart aching, Ye Anxin asked, ”Mom, do you know where Dad is now?”

Mother Ye nodded repeatedly, ”I know, he’s gambling in an underground casino, I’ve looked for him several times!”

”Let’s go, I’ll go with you to find him! All this was given by Uncle, we can’t let him waste it like this!” Saying this, Ye Anxin pulled Mother Ye up from the ground.

”Let’s hurry! Hope we make it in time!” Mother Ye wiped away the snot and tears from her face with her sleeve, dragged Ye Anxin out of the villa district, hailed a taxi outside, and hurriedly headed to the destination.

Because she ran in such a rush earlier, when Ye Anxin sat in the taxi, she suddenly felt a faint pain in her lower abdomen, but the pain was very mild, coming in waves, not very strong.

Noticing her discomfort, Mother Ye worriedly asked, ”Anxin, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?”

”No! Maybe I just ran too fast just now, lost my breath, it’s nothing!” Ye Anxin touched her abdomen, took a deep breath, and soon the slight discomfort disappeared.

Seeing this, Ye Anxin breathed a sigh of relief.

Half an hour later, Mother Ye and Ye Anxin appeared in front of the underground casino.

Standing at the entrance, Ye Anxin was not unfamiliar with such a place!

During her childhood, this was almost like home to her! She and her mom would almost come to such places daily to find her father!

All casinos are quite the same, giving people the same feeling, disgust—!

”Your dad must be inside, let’s hurry in! We can’t let him sell the house!” Mother Ye held Ye Anxin’s hand, heading straight inside.

Upon entering the casino, Mother Ye immediately stopped the two guards inside, anxiously asking, ”Is Ye Shan inside? Where is he now?”

The guards seemed not unfamiliar with Mother Ye and were not surprised, answering earnestly, ”Him, he’s in the back meeting our boss!”

”Anxin, let’s go!” Getting the news, Mother Ye hurriedly took Ye Anxin’s hand, heading toward the back.

Actually, the so-called back of the casino is the office of the casino boss! Located in a very hidden place at the back of the casino, it is quite difficult for most people to find!

Yet, Mother Ye, very familiar with the place, easily led Ye Anxin to the office door.

Seeing this, Ye Anxin roughly guessed what was happening and urgently asked, ”Mom, how long has this been going on?”

Mother Ye truthfully replied, ”For over a month now, I almost daily take money here to retrieve him!”
