The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Chapter 480: Chapter 471: I Am the Vicious Aunt-in-Law 58

Xu Erya realized only after entering Prince Shun’s inner courtyard that being one of the women in the harem was nowhere as comfortable as being a strategist for Prince Shun.

She was entangled in harem struggles and barely able to look after herself, let alone have the mind to devise strategies for Prince Shun.

But she had already become Prince Shun’s woman, and it was too late to have second thoughts now.

Xu Erya could only grit her teeth and forge ahead.

After bringing down several concubines, she started to take good care of herself, hoping to bear a son for Prince Shun to rely on in the future.

Strangely enough, among all of Prince Shun’s women, despite having many children, they were all daughters, not a single son.

Prince Shun was also in a state of desperation; in order to have a son, he kept adding women to his harem, but the more he added, the fewer the chances of having a son.

He had no idea what was behind it, had doctors check, and there were no issues with him nor with those women’s bodies, yet they just couldn’t bear him a son.

If Anning were here, she would understand what was going on.

The reason lay with Xu Erya.

Xu Erya’s space had advanced because it was enriched with jewelry and jade obtained from Prince Shun.

With the advanced space came a variety of Medicine Pills, one of which was the girl birth pill.

Xu Erya had administered the girl birth pill to all the women in Prince Shun’s harem, naturally resulting in all daughters being born.

When Xu Erya’s body had recovered and she reached the childbearing age, she started to prepare for pregnancy.

Before getting pregnant, Xu Erya took a Fertility Pill.

Unnoticed by Xu Erya, as she ingested the Fertility Pill, a flash of light zipped through her space.

Meanwhile, in the Capital, Anning opened her eyes and smiled.

”Ningning, I’ve switched her Fertility Pill.”

An Xin gleefully told Anning, ”I replaced it with a Fertility Pill as you instructed.”

Anning responded with a smile, ”Good.”

Anning had been waiting for this moment with Xu Erya.

Previously, Anning had every opportunity to bring about Xu Erya’s demise, but she chose not to.

Firstly, it was the request of the original body owner.

The original body wanted Xu Erya to live and suffer to the fullest; her premature death would not fulfill this wish.

Secondly, Anning had gleaned some information from the original body’s memory and patiently waited; only now did she swap Xu Erya’s medicine, ensuring Xu Erya received her due retribution.

In her previous life, after causing the death of the original body and Xu Minying, Xu Erya married into a good family.

Minlan, who was sold to a brothel, later had her freedom bought and served as a concubine for a wealthy family in the Capital.

There was one time Xu Erya encountered Xu Minlan while out visiting and slipped her a medicine, causing Xu Minlan to become infertile thereafter.

There was also an incident where, out of jealousy that Xu Minruo was prettier than her, Xu Erya gave Xu Minruo the girl birth pill.

Later on, Xu Minruo bore six daughters and not a single son, which led to her being cast aside by her in-laws. When Xu Erya learned of this, she made cold remarks, telling Xu Minruo that she should have requested to leave earlier – a woman who couldn’t bear sons had failed her husband and in-laws, accusing her of risking the end of their lineage, which was extremely malicious.

Because of Xu Erya’s harsh words and her daughters’ ill-treatment by the family, a helpless Xu Minruo went mad.

Xu Minlan, whose body was ruined by Xu Erya and who had not borne any children, was frequently mocked by Xu Erya and passed away at a young age.

Xu Erya, a woman educated in the modern world, would utter such demeaning words about women, mock her own sister for not bearing sons, and pride herself on having many sons was utterly disgusting to Anning.

This time, Anning would make her bear many children and see how she would feel about giving birth over and over again.

She wanted many sons for blessings? Anning would let her keep giving birth to a horde of sons.

Having taken the Fertility Pill, Xu Erya found an opportunity to entangle herself with Prince Shun.

Understanding Prince Shun’s preferences, and being one of his favored women, she resorted to manipulative tactics, which led to Prince Shun spending several nights in her room.

Subsequently, Xu Erya became pregnant as she wished.

However, Prince Shun, tired of all the daughters, remained indifferent to Xu Erya’s pregnancy, treating her as usual.

Xu Erya managed to maintain her composure.

She didn’t make a fuss; instead, she appeared especially low-key and sensible during her pregnancy, which elicited a bit of pity from Prince Shun.

After Xu Er Ya became pregnant for three months, she started to feel something was amiss.

Normally, a pregnant woman’s belly is not very noticeable at three months, yet Xu Er Ya’s belly looked almost as if she were six or seven months along, and moreover, Xu Er Ya constantly felt her vitality draining away, all being absorbed by the child in her womb.

She had no choice but to start consuming large amounts of spiritual spring water.

As her pregnancy progressed, her need for spiritual spring water only grew.

Around six or seven months into the pregnancy, Xu Er Ya was confined to her bed, unable to move.

Her belly was so large it was frightening to behold.

Prince Shun visited her twice and, after seeing her condition, was too scared to look again.

Xu Er Ya endured, and finally, at eight months, she gave birth prematurely.

Princess Shun, being adept at dealing with people, had prepared a midwife and wet nurses early on, so as soon as Xu Er Ya felt discomfort, she was immediately carried to the delivery room, and two midwives went in as well.

Prince Shun waited in the courtyard for the news.

After waiting about a two-hour period, cries of a baby could be heard from the room.

One of the midwives came out with a smile and said, ”Congratulations, Prince, on the joy of fathering a son.”

Hearing this, Prince Shun immediately beamed and said, ”Hurry, bring the child out for your lord to see.”

He had been eagerly anticipating a son and naturally wanted to see Xu Er Ya’s child as soon as possible.

The Princess stood by, her expression inscrutable.

The midwife went in again but did not come out, and after a while, another burst of crying was heard.

Subsequently, every less than fifteen minutes, there were cries from another child.

Eventually, both Prince Shun and the Princess became numb.

When they saw the row of ten baby boys being carried out, their legs turned to jelly from shock.

This...

This was simply too many.

Prince Shun had hoped for sons, but he never imagined he would have ten at once.

What about Xu Er Ya?

She had long since passed out.

She was so exhausted she couldn’t even move her fingers, her mind was foggy, and her one thought was to never give birth again...

But some things are beyond one’s control.

After a year, Xu Er Ya got pregnant again before fully recovering.

And this time, she gave birth to eight sons.

Prince Shun went from eagerly awaiting a son to developing a headache at the sight of one.

Having many sons is indeed a blessing, but who could endure birthing eight or ten at once?

The women in the rear court were all but too eager for Xu Er Ya to die, employing various schemes against her.

By the third pregnancy, even the spiritual spring water could not sustain Xu Er Ya.

Each pregnancy brought so many children that vitality drained too quickly from her body, which didn’t have time to recuperate before the next pregnancy, not even the spiritual spring water could restore that vitality.

During her third pregnancy, Xu Er Ya aged considerably, looking in her thirties or forties despite only being in her twenties.

Moreover, having so many children each time made Prince Shun loath to see her.

Especially the sight of her pregnant belly.

Xu Er Ya’s belly was even larger in her third pregnancy, and one glance from Prince Shun was filled with revulsion.

Sometimes, Prince Shun wished that both Xu Er Ya and the children inside her would just die quickly.

He was afraid.

Thinking of Xu Er Ya birthing children like a sow, so many at a time, it sent chills down his spine; he thought Xu Er Ya might be a demon.

And during her third labor, Xu Er Ya had a difficult delivery.

She cried and screamed desperately, but still could not give birth after a long time, she could only quietly drink the spiritual spring water, but even that was no longer effective for her.
