The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1413: Chapter 1413: Ruling from Behind the Curtain

Chu Jiaojiao wanted to usurp power, to seize control. Her maneuvers didn’t surprise the teachers and students spectating; in fact, not just Chu Jiaojiao, Ji You, Yue Qiguang, Shen Changqing, Lou, Lance... all the students of Lanyue Star Military Academy, except for the chosen one Liu Fufeng and the very low-key, inconspicuous Yu Song, understood their situation immediately and commenced a grand plan to seize power.

It wasn’t just Lanyue Star Military Academy; the top students from the First Army, Second Army, Third Army, and the top ten ranked students in the Alliance all attempted a coup.

However, few succeeded.

Of course, those guys from Lanyue Star Military Academy are an exception — they’re beasts, not humans. Shen Changqing relied on his White Lotus appearance and speeches to be elevated to the position of Commander, not officially the Commander but equivalent, even the true Commander Wu Jingyue could only grit their teeth.

Surrendered to it.

Yue Qiguang used crafty tactics, impersonated a beautiful girl to lure people in, and then rounded them up. Anyone who disobeyed him would be beaten into submission.

Ji You?

This guy had even more outrageous tactics. Given the fame of their camp’s commander, Gu Peiyuan, not being any weaker than other popular candidates in the First Army, a sudden coup would probably not only fail but put Ji You in a disadvantageous position. So, Ji You didn’t initially show signs of seizing power but instead cautiously mingled with the enemy to deceive them, paving the way for a coup later, ultimately seizing power effortlessly.

As for Lou?

Lou attempted a coup but misjudged the timing, seized only a third of the power, and eventually suffered a crushing defeat. Yet even as a failure, Lou was still better than the vast majority of the students by comparison.

These are not worth mentioning.

Compared to Ji You and Lou, who exhausted their minds for power, Chu Jiaojiao adopted a more straightforward approach. Before the commander of Camp 1 could utilize their commander authority to send invitations to the warriors under them, Chu Jiaojiao overstepped her bounds, sending invitation letters to the other nine squad leaders under the pretense of a ”Hero Letter,” inviting them to come discuss major strategies against the enemy.

Of course, Chu Jiaojiao didn’t exclude the commander of Camp 1, even sent someone to deliver a copy, requiring him to publicly hand over the commandership to her.

When the commander of Camp 1 received this ”Bear Letter,” their face turned green.

But!

They had no choice but to grit their teeth and endure it. Chu Jiaojiao was a major force; whether they liked it or not, Chu Jiaojiao was a significant support for Camp 1. Besides, Chu Jiaojiao said in the letter, if you don’t come, they would bypass the commander to discuss enemy strategies.

One line put the commander of Camp 1 on the spot.

Not going meant being sidelined directly.

Going? A bit humiliating.

But!

Between losing face and being quickly sidelined, the commander of Camp 1 thought for a few seconds and ultimately chose to lose face.

Lost face can be regained. If power is sidelined, it would be impossible to regain it.

Then.

Upon arrival at the destination, the commander of Camp 1 immediately realized it was a trap — a feast intended to target him and his power.

Chu Jiaojiao looked at him, and before all the squad leaders and key members, said, ”Let’s fight, I’ll settle it in three moves, if you lose, voluntarily step down.”

Upon hearing, the commander of Camp 1’s eyes darkened. He prided himself on not being weak, but Chu Jiaojiao’s tone was overly arrogant. He frowned, but before he could speak, Chu Jiaojiao said, ”Or, you can admit defeat directly.”

Commander of Camp 1: ”...”

Chu Jiaojiao swept away her low profile, flaunting and unrestrained, with not a bit of restraint. However, she wasn’t aggressive and gave her counterpart ample time to think.

The commander of Camp 1 said, ”Chu Jiaojiao, although I lost to you before, that was a long time ago. Times have changed; you’ve grown stronger, but so have I. I don’t believe you can settle me in three moves.” You, ranked 75th in the test, speaking such brazen words to me, ranked 7th — doesn’t your face hurt?

The commander of Camp 1 silently retorted.

Upon hearing this, Chu Jiaojiao said, ”Alright then, one move. I’ll settle it in one move. If you’re still unwilling to let go of your power, we’ll test our command abilities.” Turning her head to sweep her gaze across the others, she continued, ”I believe some of you doubt my command ability, so let’s compete on that, whoever loses, exits, any objections?”

”Ahem ahem...”

”No objections.”

”We follow whoever’s strong.”

This group of people, lacking principle, are participating to maximize their chances of advancing. As for who to listen to, obviously, whoever’s stronger.

With the tacit agreement of everyone present, the commander of Camp 1 was put on the spot, forced to compete; otherwise, even if not competing, the subordinates wouldn’t be convinced.

In this group of young people, all have a sort of undaunted courage, isn’t it just a competition? Isn’t it just a battle?

Then let’s compete.

Who’s afraid of whom?

Thus, the commander of Camp 1 made a decision instantly.

Then.

He was KO’d by Chu Jiaojiao in one move.

Truly, even when knocked to the ground, unable to get up, the commander of Camp 1 was bewildered, couldn’t comprehend what had happened.

As for the subsequent command ability competition?

Sorry, fell too fast, fell too hard, the body simply couldn’t continue the competition.

Next.

Chu Jiaojiao didn’t further oppress the commander of Camp 1, helped him up, placed him by her side, using the excuse of the commander being injured, and took over decision making.

Everyone: ”...”

As for Chu Jiaojiao’s command ability?

It no longer mattered. Because once she started taking charge, every arrangement was spot-on, seamless, orderly.

Chu Jiaojiao’s practical actions made those skeptical of her command ability shut their mouths.

By eliminating just the commander, she successfully seized the commander’s position and obtained commander power; Chu Jiaojiao’s operation was harmless, pollution-free, clean, and environmentally friendly, only unfortunate for the commander of Camp 1, while everyone else from squad leaders down to small soldiers was unaffected by the command swap.

Subsequently.

In line with Chu Jiaojiao’s carefree personality and martial might, when everyone thought Chu Jiaojiao would naturally launch a surprise attack on the enemy camp, she instead quieted down, mobilized all soldiers under her, thoroughly understood every detail of her territory, and after securing the border, kept troops from moving.

On the other side.

Internal changes were also happening in Camp 2.
