The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1285: Chapter 1285: On the Eve of Battle

Upon reaching their own camp, and seeing the surroundings were clearly arranged deliberately, He Nu couldn’t help himself and asked Cheng Haoyue: ”Cheng Haoyue, our large troop has rushed back, what exactly are the plans?”

On the way back, they even intentionally put on a scene which, in He Nu’s view, seemed a bit excessive, easily aggravating the opponent, perhaps prompting them to immediately deploy troops and launch a major attack on them!

An utterly empty and grand attack.

Wherever there is war, there are bound to be casualties.

Before, under Ji You’s precise calculations and arrangements, although He Nu completed the tasks on time and managed to ambush the enemy as planned, despite the great advantage, they still lost a teammate on their side.

If this weren’t a competition, this would have been a real battlefield, the lives of comrades fighting alongside him!

This is a result everyone dreads and cannot bear.

He Nu’s eyes slightly darkened, and he said, ”I think I understand your plan. You want to draw the enemy over—”

Cheng Haoyue nodded and said, ”We can’t hide so many people in the enemy camp, and there are still many unscathed enemies around. If we forcibly garrison here, we’ll likely soon be exposed under the enemy’s gunfire and be caught in a dilemma.

So, even before planning, Ji You had given me strict orders: do not linger after succeeding, immediately retreat back to our camp.”

He Nu thought briefly and understood. After victory, most people would often get complacent, wanting to chase a victory, which could in turn lead to a downfall. Therefore, the ability to decisively cut losses is rare.

In He Nu’s view, Ji You’s decision was very correct, and Cheng Haoyue’s execution was also highly efficient.

Both of them had qualities He Nu wanted to learn from.

However, He Nu was a bit regretful, saying, ”Then, we won’t be able to use the enemy camp’s communication equipment.”

Everyone was on the move, almost all remained silent. Only Cheng Haoyue and He Nu, occasionally exchanged a few words when riding side by side, and their voices were so low that only they could hear.

The communication equipment, due to Shaun’s tight defense, was a secret in the enemy camp, known only by a few. However, due to a sudden enemy attack, Shaun shared information about the signal tower with a few team leaders to gain their trust.

Ji You believed this information would spread quickly without accident.

This also forced Ji You to alter her plan.

Originally, she wanted to seize the camp of Shaun and his squad, directly occupying his station and the signal tower, and use them for her own purposes, but now it was impossible.

Can’t get it?

Then destroy it!

Or, dismantle it entirely and take it away.

...

Cheng Haoyue, hearing He Nu’s words, was not in a hurry and said, ”I have already found someone in our camp and among our allies, who specializes in communications. So long as Ji You brings back the communication box smoothly, installing a new one won’t be a problem for us.”

Hearing this, He Nu finally felt at ease.

Simultaneously, He Nu felt a bit emotional: [Ji You is indeed reliable in handling things.]

Flawlessly thorough, leaving no room for concern.

Then.

He Nu, Cheng Haoyue, and their group quickly returned to their camp. The moment they entered, He Nu was astonished!

Everyone was dressed in full gear, helmets, armor, knee pads, weapons...

With such complete equipment, who in this shabby competition field could afford such extravagance?

Cheng Haoyue looked and couldn’t help but smile, saying, ”We stole it.”

He Nu immediately understood!

This equipment was seized from the enemy’s military base.

Furthermore—

Everyone’s gear suggested they were ready to go to war at any moment! So, everything was prepared?

He Nu’s heart tightened and then surged with excitement as Cheng Haoyue said, ”Go pick out some gear; we’re about to face a big battle.”

Earlier, letting a scout go back was intentional—it was to let them report back.

Moreover, as long as the enemy desires revenge, and won’t swallow their resentment, they will definitely gather forces to attack our camp.

If they can swallow their resentment, fine, but—if our side leaks news that we have already seized and successfully set up the signal tower, even knowing it’s a bait, the enemy will venture to attack!

So, this battle is inevitable, the only difference is how many enemies will come.

Cheng Haoyue was also a bit nervous, urging He Nu to pick up equipment and help check if there were any oversight in the camp’s arrangements.

He Nu, of course, didn’t dare delay, and promptly acted upon it.

...

Meanwhile.

Ji You hunched in the signal tower, counting the time, knowing that after Wei Yun contacted He Zhen, because of Wei Yun’s cautiousness, he would certainly return to the camp’s signal tower to inspect, revealing her cover then.

There were still 11 people within the camp, with only Liu Jia, He Yu, and Wang Xin assisting Ji You, but these were not high-end combat strengths, so Ji You wasn’t worried.

Confirming that Cheng Haoyue and others had retreated from the sixth camp, Ji You finally stood up. During the time crouched in the signal tower, Ji You wasn’t idle; she recovered her physical strength and spiritual power while dismantling the enemy’s signal tower. Besides taking a few key materials, which she packed in her bag, the rest was torn apart—into such a state that it could never be reassembled.

Ensuring that the enemy, holding this pile of scraps, cannot rebuild a signal tower within the competition time, Ji You then stepped out the signal tower door.

At this moment, Ji You carried a crossbow on her back. The crossbow was folded, and it seemed like she had no intention of attacking anyone, but in her slightly clasped left hand, she held a small folding knife.

Then, Ji You swaggered out of the signal tower. Once outside, she saw a team of three coming her way. The leading person asked upon seeing her, ”Ji You, have you seen Li Yun and Bai Hui?”

Bai Hui and Li Yun were responsible for guarding the signal tower, but had been missing for some time, which someone noticed and reported to the camp’s Chief Guard, who dispatched a team to investigate.

Ji You looked at the three, smiled slightly, and said, ”Yes, I’ve seen them. They’re over there.”

Saying this, Ji You casually pointed to a corner.

The three were puzzled, and the leader asked, ”Where?”

Ji You smiled sweetly and said, ”Underground.”

The trio: ”???”

The three already felt a sense of alertness and their hands subconsciously gripped their weapons.

Ji You, seeing this, remained unperturbed and continued to smile, ”They’re resting underground forever, said they couldn’t make up a mahjong table and wanted to bring some companions down.”

The three were startled and raised their hands to attack Ji You.
