The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1251: Chapter 1251: Military Base

As a Base Guardian Warrior, this boy, upon entering the arena, received task notifications and headed straight to the military base. Since then, he has dutifully guarded the military base, not letting even one ant in.

However.

As time went on, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours... just when the boy thought he would soon receive the next task, the notification for it was delayed. Not only that, besides the 20 students stationed at the military base, there were no others present, leaving the students quite bewildered...

Could it be that the higher-ups have not issued a new task?

Or is the task for our group simply to guard the military base?

...

If it were a drill, a simulation captain, or even a real battle, these 20 students could endure the loneliness... But this is the arena!

It’s a brutal arena where you not only compete for victory against enemies but also compete for spots against your teammates.

The 20 students, including the leading boy, with the passing of time, all developed some personal thoughts, wanting to go outside to fight enemies and create more opportunities for advancement.

These 20 students wanted to walk out of the base to take a look, gather some intelligence and information, but feared if they left, an enemy might suddenly attack, leading to the base’s fall, causing a major mistake.

Therefore, after thinking it over, the leading boy temporarily dismissed this idea and only sent a few teammates to make a round about 5 kilometers around the base. They didn’t dare to go to faraway places beyond their range.

...

Ji You, Li Yun, and Bai Hui were the first wave of people faced by this military base.

Honestly.

So much time had passed, and only Ji You’s group of three took the initiative to come over, which made the 20 students extremely excited.

Enemies?

Just the opportunity needed to fight.

Allies?

They knew nothing about the outside world, which was perfect for gathering information through these allies.

The boy said, ”You’re looking for the Squad Leader, that’s a mistake. This isn’t the Squad Leader’s base, nor is it the base of the Command Center.”

Ji You was taken aback, and Li Yun and Bai Hui behind her, without Ji You’s cue, simultaneously showed looks of shock. Ji You frowned and said, ”This isn’t the squad’s base? How is that possible?

I’ve almost visited all 10 squads around here and haven’t found the squad base. I thought this place seemed the most likely. How can it not be?”

”How can it not be?” Ji You said, raising her hand and ruffling her hair, saying, ”Then where is our squad’s base?”

The boy said, ”You can keep looking.”

”Alright, time is of the essence, no time for chit-chat, we’re leaving now,” Ji You said this and then urged Li Yun and Bai Hui, ”Let’s hurry up and go, any later, and we might miss an important opportunity.”

After saying this, she decisively walked away.

Li Yun and Bai Hui were momentarily stunned, but Ji You had previously told them to cooperate with her completely, no matter what irrational thing she did, so both tried their best to comply.

So, Li Yun immediately followed.

Bai Hui wasn’t slow to follow either, muttering as he walked, ”If this isn’t it, where is it? Is our squad deliberately hiding underground? Or in the sky?”

”Seriously.” Ji You took another step, seemingly unable to hold back, and said reproachfully, ”With communications so undeveloped, shouldn’t the Squad Leader have sent someone to contact us proactively? At least come up with a way to organize us subordinates. Otherwise, the whole squad is like a sieve full of holes, is he hoping the enemy won’t find us and wanting to help the enemy strike our teammates?”

”What if the enemy runs over right now?” Ji You frowned and walked even faster.

The leading boy’s eyelid twitched, and he hurriedly said, ”Wait a minute.”

Ji You didn’t stop, but Bai Hui and Li Yun did.

The boy said, ”Fellow students, please wait.”

This time Ji You turned around, with a hint of urgency in her eyes, and seemingly complained, ”Classmate, if you have something to say, hurry up. I really have something urgent to discuss with the Squad Leader, and if I really can’t find the responsible Squad Leader, then I’ll find the commander and ask someone from our command unit.”

The boy pursed his lips and said, ”You can tell me the information you’ve gathered. Even if you don’t want to spill everything, tell me some general and not-so-important circumstances.”

Hearing this, Ji You immediately became serious, and solemnly said, ”Classmate, since we are on the same side, as comrades, it stands to reason I should tell you everything I know and think, but the outside situation is extremely complicated, and my understanding is limited, so I dare not tell you my thoughts and judgments directly. I’ll share what I know, and you can judge the specifics yourself.”

Ji You’s tone was undeniably sincere, and after listening, the boy did not show displeasure but nodded, ”Go on.”

”From the time I entered the arena, nearly 3 hours, and the competition hasn’t officially started yet,” Ji You said with a serious face, ”The outside situation, to put it simply, is like scattered sand, everyone acting independently.”

The boy was surprised.

Ji You said, ”Due to fighting solo, I was severely hit by the enemy, so I started looking for allies, trying to gather people from our side to unite as one, forming alliances, and sustain together.”

Upon hearing this, the boy’s eyelids slightly drooped.

Ji You sighed quietly and said, ”Our Squad Leader isn’t here, and the higher-up might as well not exist. We lack organization, I have no authority, and after visiting nearly 20 bases, I haven’t found one determined to cooperate with us, so it’s tough.”

After hearing this, the boy and the 6 students behind him all frowned.

Ji You said, ”If we all put in the effort, work together, and unite everyone, we won’t need to worry about an enemy invasion.”

The boy opened his mouth and finally said softly, ”We can’t leave the team, and can only hold on inside this base. So, if you’re looking for comrades to fight and kill the enemy together —

I’m sorry, we’re not suitable.”

Ji You felt a spark in her heart and immediately smiled, waving her hand, saying, ”No need to feel guilty, our goal is the same. You defend the base, and we’ll fight outside, protecting the first line of defense is something we should do.”

Heard that, the boy was a bit embarrassed.

So simple,

Ji You thought secretly.
