The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1281: Chapter 1281: I Want to Bury Them

In the next moment, the enemies, about to step into the trap, suddenly stopped. As the lead member executing this ambush task, Cheng Haoyue was worried about making mistakes and also anxious that his teammates might mess up, like walking on a tightrope at the edge of a cliff. He was so nervous that it couldn’t even be described in words.

He Nu, appearing calm and composed, was actually a bit apprehensive inside, but he wasn’t too worried. Because when Ji You and he were discussing the kind of trap to set, they had already considered the current situation, and even the worst scenario — if they were all exposed, they had remedial measures ready.

What did Ji You say at that time?

At that time, Ji You had only brought herself, circled the enemy camp of the Seventh Team’s station, and then stood with her hands behind her back, saying: ”He Nu, I want to turn this place into a battlefield.”

He Nu was taken aback, turned to Ji You, and saw her small stature, skin fair as snow, clear black eyes, looking so delicate and fragile like a porcelain doll that could shatter with a pinch. Yet her eyes were firm, and with utmost confidence, she added: ”A battlefield to bury the enemy.”

He Nu was shocked, ”Here?”

Ji You lightly nodded, ”Right here. At the very least, I want to bury dozens of enemies here.”

He Nu: ”!!!”

He Nu felt his heart tremble violently, and his fingertips trembled unconsciously. Looking at Ji You, he said:

”But right now, the enemies are very scattered, and this place near the border river is not the best battlefield.”

The chances of burying, ahem... killing dozens of enemies here were too slim.

However, seeing Ji You’s tone and demeanor, devoid of any joking manner, extremely serious, and with utmost confidence and assurance, He Nu suddenly didn’t want to discourage her, so he asked, ”Ji You, how do you plan to do it?”

Ji You turned her head, staring at He Nu, her black eyes gleaming brightly: ”He Nu, I need your cooperation. If you can get it done within 2 hours, I will definitely achieve this goal.”

He Nu raised his head: ”???”

Ji You raised her hand, pointing around the camp: ”Here, here, here, and here... You need to dig out several big pits silently, setting up some trap mechanisms...”

He Nu’s eyes lit up, vaguely feeling he had grasped something, but still found Ji You’s idea quite naive. The primary issue was how to ensure this place would become a battlefield for both sides.

Ji You described her plan and general setup, then gazed at He Nu, asking, ”As a kid from the Agricultural Star, you know how to dig earth, right?”

He Nu: ”...”

Ji You frowned, ”Don’t you dig when farming?”

”...” He Nu said, ”Digging? Sure! But we don’t dig ourselves. We have special agricultural machinery for everything, from tilling, sowing, fertilizing, weeding, to harvesting... We don’t need to know how to dig.”

Ji You immediately frowned tightly: ”You can’t dig? That’s a problem.”

He Nu: ”...”

Unable to bear her disappointed expression, He Nu had to own up: ”Actually, I can dig, and quite well. When I was young, I often got spanked by my parents. Whenever I was naughty, they teamed up to give me a thrashing. Whenever that happened, I would run to our farmland and dig a hole to hide. My parents couldn’t find me and got anxious, searching everywhere. I had to hear them promise not to beat me before I’d come out of the hole.”

Ji You was momentarily stunned.

”Ahem...”

”I dug so many holes in our farmland that my parents knew my trick. They often came to block me in the fields, but they never expected I’d know the trick of a cunning rabbit having three burrows. They could never figure out which hole I was hiding in and didn’t dare seal them up, afraid I’d suffocate, so they often couldn’t do anything about me.”

As He Nu spoke, he lowered his head, a hint of reminiscence and undeniable sadness in his tone: ”Thinking back now, the time with my parents around was the happiest of my life.”

Ji You fell silent. She didn’t ask about He Nu’s parents. Instead, she patted He Nu’s shoulder and entrusted him with an important task: ”Brother, the battlefield traps are yours. Dig them as winding as you can, show that trick of yours.”

He Nu immediately responded: ”Yes.”

Ji You said: ”Within 2 hours, I’ll draw the enemies here, leaving them to you and Cheng Haoyue. That’s when you’ll earn a lot of points.”

If indeed a large number of enemies were drawn into the traps, killing them would truly be as easy as slicing through cucumbers.

He Nu said: ”Leave it to me.”

His voice was full of confidence, his eyes bright and spirited.

Ji You: ”Good.”

She smiled at He Nu, ”You don’t have to worry about anything, focus on digging. Leave everything else to me. I’ll signal you when I need your cooperation.”

”Don’t worry.” Her smile was as radiant as a warm sun in the cold winter: ”As long as I’m here, our plan is bound to succeed.”

...

He Nu’s eyes flickered slightly, did they succeed?

They would inevitably succeed.

Now, He Nu was extremely confident in saying that because, regardless of the enemy’s brief pause or their entry in batches, once they stepped into this area, they would definitely fall, all of them.

He Nu’s mind grew increasingly calm, and this steadiness dissipated Cheng Haoyue’s nervousness as well.

This side.

He Zhen arranged for Jack and his group to step to the back of the low hillside. Seeing that nothing happened, he felt assured and then arranged for another team to go over.

The other team also went without any incident.

Then came the third team.

...

He Zhen made a gesture, signaling the others to follow him. He intended to use the low hillside as a temporary base, sending two reconnaissance soldiers ahead to explore and connect with Lester, who was already stationed there.

Wei Yun had told He Zhen that their side already had a team led by Lester stationed there. First, they should liaise with Lester before discussing strategies against the enemy.

The previous enemy which ambushed Lester withdrew quickly after succeeding. Whether they were hiding nearby, their exact numbers, and their overall strength were unknown without accurate information...

Therefore, He Zhen thought it necessary to resolve this quickly: know yourself and the enemy, and you will never be defeated.

With these thoughts in mind, He Zhen had already set foot, and his teammates, fully alert, followed him as they stepped into the back of the low hillside.

Suddenly, there was a boom—

Explosions erupted around, debris flew, dust billowed, rumbling—

The low hillside under He Zhen and others’ feet, perfectly fine just now, suddenly flipped over, just like flipping a pancake!

Boom—
