The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1253: Chapter 1253: To Protect

After listening to Ji You’s speech, everyone present, including Li Yun and Bai Hui, frowned. Li Yun and Bai Hui had only heard Ji You mention it briefly before, but she hadn’t explained it in detail. Therefore, both of them didn’t realize that in the arena, the points earned from a victory, even if achieved through teamwork, would still go to the person who delivered the final blow.

This is really unpleasant.

The main point is that it causes division and increases selfishness among teammates. By then, everyone will be secretly plotting how to grab the points for themselves. As a result, no one will put their heart and soul into working together, and even those with a darker heart might resort to harming their teammates...

Moreover, given that everyone is from different schools, each representing their own school’s reputation, no one wants to give up the chance to advance if possible.

...

Silence surrounded them.

Ji You said, ”Have you noticed? The organizers have placed us, people from different schools, in the same camp. Everyone fights individually, without real companions. The official competition has yet to be announced... The information all of us have is very fragmented, and many people are completely clueless about the arena... Now, they’ve introduced this points system. What do you think—”

Ji You deliberately paused, and when Li Yun, Bai Hui, and the seven students patrolling the military base all turned to attentively look at her, Ji You bit her lip hard and said heavily, ”The competition organizers are intentionally creating internal division within the camp.”

Everyone furrowed their brows.

A boy asked, ”So what?”

Ji You threw out another question: ”What do you think the organizers, and the various sectors of society...want to see from this competition?”

Her words left the scene silent.

Ji You glanced at the sky, the setting sun casting a golden hue over the city gates not far away. Inside that dark, unfathomable gate, everything remained unknown.

When will we be able to enter?

But there’s no rush.

As long as the base personnel are willing to listen, Ji You can keep talking. Not enough content to capture their attention? No problem. She’ll use her brain to connect all the doubts and questions, making things up as she goes along.

Cough, cough...

Of course, what she just said wasn’t made up; she was providing a logical deduction based on the existing information to offer a reference for others.

This competition system clearly intends to foster antagonistic emotions, creating so many divisive factors that it’s impossible for students in the same camp not to develop conflicting emotions.

Ji You’s question stumped everyone present, leaving them unable to answer and thus silent.

second.

seconds.

seconds.

...

Time slowly passed, and the expressions on everyone’s faces grew increasingly tense. The leading boy said, ”I always thought this competition was not only about individual combat capability but also about teamwork ability. However—”

He was very disappointed, clearly let down. His voice was low...

”Don’t be disheartened.” Ji You suddenly smiled and said, ”You’re right. What the organizers, and the various sectors of society... want to see is indeed our team cooperation ability.”

The boy was startled, lifting his head with a trace of surprise and joy replacing the evident disappointment, ”In the end, it’s really about that?”

Silly child...

Why so downhearted? As a warrior, you must strengthen your mental resilience. Without verifying others’ words, you let yourself be strung along as if all hope is lost...

This—

Is someone destined for elimination.

In other words, if your beliefs aren’t firm enough, stepping onto the battlefield will be a disaster for both yourself and others.

A teammate like this, for me?

No way!

But an enemy like this, for me?

The more, the better.

Ji You secretly rejoiced, maintaining a serious face, saying, ”Of course! Precisely because there are so many external divisive factors, we must unite even more. Ask yourselves, our camp’s situation is like this, so is it any different for the enemy?

Absolutely not.” Ji You’s tone was confident, and she continued, ”Both sides face the same dilemmas, with many and complex issues to resolve. Whoever can quickly overcome these problems and unite all members will lead their forces to a certain and overwhelming victory, defeating any obstacle and claiming the throne of victory with lightning speed!”

Everyone found this reasoning quite convincing.

Ji You’s tone suddenly dropped, carrying a hint of gravity, ”The true battlefield is always unpredictable, ever-changing... The only thing we can rely on, the only ones we can truly trust, are the comrades by our side! Unity is something we always need to learn and uphold. All of you here are Military Academy Students, Military Department reservists, future mechanical warriors destined to embark on the battlefield. I won’t say more—”

”A loose sand? Fighting individually?”

”No one collaborating with teammates?”

”I’ll do it!” Ji You looked into the distance, her voice firm and resolute, ”I’ll do it! I’ll strive to unite every one of us, to build trust among us, to work together towards victory.”

Li Yun, Bai Hui, and the seven military base students were all shaken.

”We train, we push ourselves, we bleed, we cry, we know the road ahead is tough... Yet we still step into the Military Academy without hesitation because—of protection. Protecting this land beneath our feet, and the starlit sky above, along with each face around us carrying a bright smile and happiness...” Ji You’s voice transitioned from sharp to increasingly gentle, then suddenly elevated to a loud volume, ”I promise, if there’s a need for my sacrifice, I’ll plunge into peril without a moment’s hesitation!”

Boom—

Everyone present was impacted. They all focused on Ji You—

This!

This girl!

Her face, her eyes, her brows, her... all exuded sincerity and passion!

Isn’t everyone here young?

The young value loyalty, heroism, a shared resolve and confidence against challenges...

In that moment, everyone’s blood was boiling!

Bai Hui clenched his fists, holding back his excitement, ”I can too!”

Li Yun tightened his grip on his clothing, ”I can too. Making the decision to enter the Military Academy and step onto the battlefield was already a resolve for sacrifice. If we don’t fear sacrifice on a real battlefield, how can we fear the arena?”

The seven military base students, too, clenched their fists one by one, with the leading boy, unable to contain his excitement, exclaimed, ”Ji You, you can proceed. We on this side are already your allies!”

Outside the screen:

Everyone: ”...”

Watching it makes one’s head bald!

Everyone: ”Hey, hey... Silly kids, don’t just listen to what she’s saying, watch what she’s doing.”
